Thursday Dish

Didi Benami was eliminated from "American Idol" last night, knocking the contestant pool down to nine.  Former winner Ruben Studdard and Usher performed on last night's show. Usher's new artist Justin Bieber also made an appearance as well. Next week the contestants will perform the songs of The Beatles. In other televison news, it looks like the end will soon be near for the Fox series 24.  The latest issue of TV Guide magazine discusses the reasons for the end of the hit series. Rapper LL Cool J is at odds with both Sarah Palin and the Fox network. It appears that the network lifted an interview the rapper did back in 2008 for Palin's new Fox series, giving some the impression he would be a guest on the show. The rapper tweeted about the mishap on Twitter. Fox, of course, responded not to kindly to the rapper's remarks. Singer Janet Jackson in addition to starring in "Why Did I Get Married Too", will also appear at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans in July. Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys will also appear on the show as well. Be sure to check out the big screen version of "The A Team" when the film is released.  It appears from the trailor that the film will be full of nonstop action. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "Survivor: Heroes Vs Villains" on CBS, "Flash Forward" on ABC and "The Office" on NBC. Happy Thursday!
