Weekend Roundup
"The Karate Kid" became box office champ over the weekend, earning 56 million dollars. "The A Team", "Shrek Forever After", "Get Him to the Greek" and "Killers" round out the top five films of the week. Hollywood took over Broadway for Sunday's Tony Awards. Denzel Washington and Catherine Zeta Jones were big winners at the show. Rapper Kid Cudi was arrested in New York City for criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substanced. The substance is believed to be marijuana. He was taken into custody after a public disturbance with an unidentified woman in Manhattan's Chelesa district. Representatives for the NYPD have provided no further information regarding the matter. Representatives for Kid Cudi's management and record label have not commented on the matter. According to authorities, the rapper is currently awaiting an arraignment from a judge and his bail has not yet been set. Here's hoping the matter is settled soon and the rapper has no further runins with the law. Artists should understand the repsonsibility that goes along with success and remember big brother is always watching. On the tube: "Lie To Me" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, " The Batchlorette" on ABC and "Last Comic Standing" on NBC. Happy Monday!
