Wednesday Roundup

Singer Chris Brown, whose latest CD "F.A.M.E." hit stores yesterday, was reportedly left stemming after an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" didn't go as planned. He was asked several questions regarding ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which he graciously declined to answer. He allegedly smashed a window in his dressing room and stormed out without a shirt. ABC has been flooded with emails asking that the network cancel Brown's upcoming appearance on "Dancing With The Stars", but there's been no official word on whether the network has cancelled the appearance. Meanwhile, Rihanna, who cancelled several tour dates some time back due to illness, has cancelled more tour dates due to low ticket sales. Reportedly, sales are so low in areas like Boston, there isn't enough money to cover items like lighting. A producer who has worked on tracks for Cash Money  Records and Young Money Entertainment is suing both claiming he's owned over $20 million dollars. There's been no word on a court date yet, however. Rapper Ja Rule has admitted to failing to pay over $300 million dollars in income to the IRS. He will reportedly face one year in jail and have to pay over $100,000 in fines. He will also appear in court for a weapons charge in June. Here's hoping that after the ordeal he'll bounce back and get back to doing what he does best. Rapper Nicki Minaj is considering playing the lead role in the film "Charge It To The Game", based on the book of the same name by Michele A. Fletcher. Ms Fletcher says Nicki could bring a new intensity to the character. She's also considering Keri Hilson, Eve and Evelyn Lozada. No official announcement has come from Nicki's camp regarding the film, however. With ratings down, the five major networks have plans to improve viewership. CBS has a sitcom starring Damon Wayans as a sports radio host and in drama the network has plans to premiere "Ringer", which will star Sarah Michelle Geller as a woman on the run from the mob. With "X Factor" and "Terra Nova" in the can, Fox has another possible hit with the show "Touch", which will return Kiefer Sutherland to the network as a father who discovers that his mute, autistic son can predict events. The network also has a hunted house show called "Lock & Key" and a father and son comedy "Tagged" in the works as well. Having spent several years as the ratings cellar dweller, NBC is sparking a renewed grab for attention. Among new programs hitting the network are "Wonder Woman" and "Shampoo". They also have the drama "Metro" in the works. ABC will return this fall with what has worked for the network previously, soapy, high-concept series aimed at it's core audience of middle-aged women. A remake of "Charlie's Angles" will join "Pan Am" and "Revenge". The CW has "Secret Circle" and "Awakening" in the can. Only time will tell which network will win the ratings war. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "Survivor: Redemption Island" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Minute To Win It" on NBC. Happy hump day!
