Friday Facts

An incident involving rapper Drake shows that when in public with the Young Money MC, it's best to be on your best behavior. It all began when the rapper was enjoying a night on the town, and a video vixen in the VIP section with the star became unruly. He had the woman removed, and she was later arrested. Atlanta rap group Ying Yang Twins are among the stars suing a website claiming the site has turned a profit from digital downloading. The 2 Live Crew and The Force MD's are among the other plaintiffs in the suit. Singer Ashanti reportedly took to twitter to confirm that she and Nelly are indeed over. Fans will recall that rumors of a romance between the  two swirled around for some time, although it was never confirmed. Guess the tweet is the confirmation everyone's been looking for. Be sure to pick up the latest issue of the Source. The magazine features actor Idris Elba on the cover. The actor discusses his role in the film "Thor" and future career moves. The latest issue of XXL magazine is on newsstands also. It features Chicago MC Lupe Fiasco. He discusses his new album and the support he receives from fans. New Edition fans will be happy to know that the rumored reunion of the group is a go. The group announced that they will reunite at the Essence Music Festival in July. Len Blavatnik's Access Industries has announced that it will purchase Warner Music Group Corp, the third largest recording company, for $1.3 billion. The companies stated that the purchase, for about $8.25 a share, will include the assumption of about $1.9 billion in debt. The deal comes as the industry faces a steep global decline in CD sales. US recorded music sales are half of what they were a decade ago. Digital sales gains have started to flatten and CD sales continue to fall. Audiences said goodbye to Jacob Lusk on "American Idol' last night. Jennifer Lopez performed with rapper Pit Bull, and country act Lady Antebellum performed as well. Congratulations to Paul McCartney are in order. He's engaged to be married to current girlfriend Nancy Shevell. This will be McCartney's third marriage. He married Linda McCartney in 1969 and Heather Mills in 2002. Though his marriage to Mills ended with a messy divorce, McCartney wasn't hesitant to give love another try. No word on a wedding date as of yet, however. In theaters this weekend: "Thor", "Jumping The Broom" and "Something Borrowed". On the tube: "Kitchen Nightmares" on Fox, "Flashpoint" on CBS, "Shark Tank" on ABC and "Friday Night Lights" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
