Monday Memo

The film "Green Lantern" topped the weekend box office earning over $50 million dollars. "Super 8", "Mr Popper's Penguins", "X Men: First Class" and "The Hangover Pt. 2" round out the top five films of the week. A spokesman for the New York City  Police Department said they are investigating the recent confession of the man who says he was involved in the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur. Spokesman Paul Browne said detectives plan to talk with Dexter Isaac and see what he has to say. As mentioned previously, Isaac, a former associate of James "Jimmy Henchman" Roseman, claims he was paid $2,500 to rob Tupac outside New York City's Quad Studios in November 1994. He even claims to have a chain he stole from the slain rapper. Roseman's lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman refutes the claim calling it a "flat out lie". There's been no word from Roseman, as he's been on the run since May 17 due to his connection in a drug case. The music executive, who manages West Coast rapper Game among others, is accused of shipping hundreds of kilos of cocaine to New York in music equipment cases as part of a drug ring that also includes his brother, Kesner. If convicted, he faces up to 15 to 20 years in federal prison. No charges can be brought against Isaac because enough time has passed since the crime that the statue of limitations prevent anyone from being tried for it. Legendary West Coast rapper Ice Cube is promoting AIDS awareness by partnering with RareInk, a company that sells celebrity autographs, artwork, and gives a portion of the proceeds to the Minority AIDS Project. Various autographed Ice Cube inspired pieces will go on sale soon. A couple of the works available incorporate cover art from his debut album "AmeriKKKa's  Most Wanted" and a scene from his hit song and video "Today Was A Good Day". Five more items will be unveiled by June 21. Rapper Nas may be in a better place in life and music, but that doesn't mean everything's coming up roses as far as his upcoming tenth album is concerned. The Queensbridge MC recently stated in an interview that he's considering changing the current title of the upcoming album from "Life Is Good" to a different one. He says some didn't understand what was meant by the title. The last time Nas changed an album title was in 2008. He wanted to name the album N___, but was overruled by his label Def Jam Records. During breaks on her current tour, singer Rihanna will sneak into the studio to record new  material that will appear on a deluxe edition of her album "Loud". The album, originally released in November 2010, features five hit singles, "S & M", "What's My Name", "Only Girl (In The World)", "California King Bed" and "Man Down". The singer broke the news via her Twitter page. The rerelease will hit store shelves this fall. Fans can catch another episode of "The Bachelorette" tonight. Another episode of "How I Met Your Mother" airs as well. On the tube: "Masterchef" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Bachelorette" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy Monday!
