Monday Memo

"Dr Seuss' The Lorex" topped the weekend box office, earning over $70 million. "Project X", "Act Of Valor", "Safe House" and "Tyler Perry's Good Deeds" round out the top five films of the week. The Oprah Winfrey interview the Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina aired last night. The 19-year-old stated that while she is unable to listen to her mother's music, she hears her mother's voice in spirit. There's also a rumor circulating that the teenage has distanced herself from her father, singer Bobby Brown by changing her name to Kristina Houston. This rumor has not been confirmed. The teenager also indicated that she intends to follow in her mother's footsteps by entering the entertainment industry as a singer. The interview also included members of Houston's family, including her mother Cissy.  The lawsuit filed against rapper Kanye West for a sample used on his "My Dark, Twisted Fantasy" album has been settled. There's been no word on the settlement amount. Rapper Coolio recently went to a family reunion, though probably not the way he would have preferred. The rapper was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Las Vegas. The arrest took place after police discovered that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken to Clark County Detention Center, where he was placed in a cell with his son, Grtis Ivey, who has been held there the last few months after being arrested for armed robbery. Coolio's bail has been set at $5, 850. Atlanta rapper T.I. recently stepped into the middle of a war of words between upcoming female rap stars Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks. It all began when Tip, during a radio interview with DJ Drama,  responded to to comments by Banks, who criticized Iggy Azalea for referring to her as a "runaway slave master" in  rhyme. Tip stated if you spend half of your day making money, then spend the rest of the day counting your money, you shouldn't have time to worry about anyone else. Banks took to her Twitter account to fire back. Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea took the high road by saying she doesn't know Banks and doesn't have a problem with her. Only time will tell how this will end. Stay tuned. On the tube: "House" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Bachelor" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Monday!
