Monday Memo

By all accounts, everyone wanted some action in their weekend as the film "The Expendables 2" topped the weekend box office, earning over $28 million dollars. "The Bourne Legacy", "ParaNorman", "The Campaign" and "Sparkle" round out the top five films of the week. Singer Rihanna sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a candid interview, which appeared on "Oprah's Next Chapter" last night. The singer opened up about the incident with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, where she was beaten during an argument. She went on to say she lost her best friend after the incident, and that Brown is her true love. She added that she made peace with her father, as she witnessed him be abusive toward her mother as a child. Rapper Nicki Minaj cancelled a scheduled appearance in Europe due to vocal chord damage. The rapper wanted to make up the missed Hot 97 Summer Jam show,  which she did, and was later told by doctors to rest. Rasheeda and K Michelle seemed to have gotten into a beef of sorts. Upon hearing K Michelle's story about being abused by ex-boyfriend Memphiz, she had some not so kind words for her. K Michelle, of course, responded, and only time will tell where things will go from here. Stay tuned. Willow Smith, daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, recently penned a heartfelt letter to the late Tupac Shakur. In the letter, the pre-teen detailed how she wished he could return to make her mother happy. Although it may seem odd to some, Tupac and Jada attended high school together in Baltimore. Rapper Juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct in Miami recently. According to TMZ, the rapper was at club LIV where he reunited with Lil Wayne after years of beef. However, hours later a peaceful mood quickly turned sour as a fight broke out outside the club. It's unclear what caused the melee. Police were called to the scene and club security complained that the brawlers were "creating a threat to life and property as well as the overall safety to patrons inside". Juvenile was arrested by Miami Beach Police along with others and is still in custody. Be sure to catch the premiere of the reality series "R&B Divas", starring Faith Evans, Syleena Johnson, Nicki Gilbert and Monifah. The show follows the ladies as they navigate their career and family responsibilities. On the tube: "Hotel Hell" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Bachelor Pad" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy Monday!
