In a separate interview with Hot 97, Tip stated that he's against the ban on assault rifles. It looks like rapper Waka Flocka Flame's management company will have to pay nearly a half million dollars to a gentleman who was shot. Some time back, the rapper's bus was reportedly fired upon after pulling up in front of a car electronics store in North Carolina. Now, it appears that what actually happened was a gentleman approached the bus to give a demo CD to Waka, and his security team fired on the man, hitting him in the shoulder. No comment from the rapper regarding the matter. Actor/comedian Katt Williams now says the reason he slapped a Target employee was because the man called him the N word. So far, there's been no comment from the gentleman regarding the matter and no word on a settlement. Thousands of users are threatening to leave Instagram if the company doesn't change its policies. Wednesday Roundup
It looks like rapper Chief Keef won't be heading to prison until next year. The hearing regarding his probation has been pushed back until January 28. A judge wants to look at a video of an interview the rapper did to determine if he violated his probation. Rapper Lil Wayne was reportedly involved in a brawl at a Los Angeles radio station's Christmas event recently. The scuffle occurred just as he and another rapper were set to take the stage. While their were witnesses, no one was arrested. It looks like singer Rihanna will be too busy to keep up with Chris Brown. The pop star just purchased a new 25,000 sq ft home with seven bedrooms. Wonder if she'll throw a housewarming party? Oscar winner Jamie Foxx admits he's responsible for rapper Rick Ross landing the song "100 Coffins" on the soundtrack of the film "Django Unchained". He says he introduced Ross to the films director, Quinton Taratino, and the two hit if off after Taratino discovered Ross named one of his albums after an old western. Foxx produced the track, which landed on the short list of nominations for Best Original Song. Fans will be able to find out which song wins when the Academy Awards air in February. Some may or may not be aware that Nick Cannon and Kim Kardashian were once an item. Cannon says he broke it off with Kardashian after she lied to him about the infamous sex tape with singer Ray J. Of course, now everyone knows Kardashian is reportedly close to walking down the aisle with rapper Kanye West and Cannon is now married to singer Mariah Carey. A warning to ladies about botox. Mediatakeout reportedly has pictures of "Basketball Wives" star Tami Roman after a botox procedure, and the result wasn't pretty. Rumor has it that she may have been given too much of an injection. No comment from Roman. Rapper 2 Chainz recently took to Twitter to thank fans for their support after announcing that his debut album "Based On A T.R.U. Story" was certified gold, selling 500,000 copies. Congratulations. Although singer Keyshia Cole isn't the new kid on the R&B block, she recently made it clear that when it comes to her hometown, she's number 1. That's the message the singer sent promoters at for KMEL radio's House of Soul concert in Oakland when she refused to perform at the event after being asked to open for singer The Weeknd. Cole took to Twitter to let her feelings on the matter be known and made it clear she doesn't have any beef with The Weeknd, it was the principle. Tuesday Tales
Keen ears will notice that rapper Kendrick Lamar sampled Janet Jackson's "Anytime, Anyplace" on his latest single "Poetic Justice". The rapper says he'd like to have Jackson appear with him in the video for the song, and if he could, it would be a blessing. The song's title is also the same title of the John Singleton film in which Jackson starred. The group Odd Future says the 17-year-old fan now suing them for attacking him during their show in San Antonio says he threw the first punch. Video of the incident has surfaced, and it clearly shows the fan threw the first punch before receiving a beat down. He took to Twitter to brag about suing the group and promised to post a picture of his check when he receives it. Good luck with the lawsuit. The Quinton Taratino film "Django Unchained" is the third film to cancel it's Hollywood premiere after the mass shooting in Newtown CT. Both the Tom Cruise film "Jack Reacher" and "Parental Guidance" cancelled their premieres as well. Fans looking forward to seeing rapper Meek Mill on tour will have to forget about it. A judge has refused to lift restrictions on travel as part of his probation from a 2008 gun and drug conviction. Future has inked a distribution deal with Epic Records for his new label. He said in a statement that he's excited about working with label head LA Reid because he helped gain a great deal of success. Reid will be leaving the hit show "The X Factor" to focus on his job as a label executive. Rapper Lil Wayne is now off the hook with the IRS. He's paid the government agency close to $8 million in back taxes and they've now released the lien on his Miami Beach home. Singer Alicia Keys is being sued by songwriter Earl Shuman. Shuman claims that Keys' song "Girl On Fire" steals a line from his song "Hey There Lonely Girl", which was a hit in the 1960s. No comment from Keys on the matter. It looks like rapper Meek Mill has found new ammunition in his on-going fued with Cassidy. He responded to Cassidy's new single "Condom Style" by calling it the worst song in the history of rapping via Instagram. The track is a remake of "Gagnam Style", the international hit by Korean rapper Psy. Riding on the wave of the song's popularity, Cassidy tweaks the lyrics in his own version turning it into a pro safe-sex anthem. Although the song is infused with humor, Mill says the joke's on Cassidy. In response to the criticism, Cassidy took to Twitter, where he eluded to the big-picture effect of the song. He says if the song causes just one man to strap up or saves one person from getting an STD then the song has served it's purpose. The two rappers have been trading jabs ever since Mill declined a rap battle, saying Cassidy wasn't in his league. Rappers T.I and Chief Keef have new music in stores this week. A fan accused the singer of snatching her cell phone as she took a picture of him while he was leaving a club. According to TMZ, in an investigation that included statements from Karrueche Tran (Brown's girlfriend at the time), Tyga and the rapper's security guard the evidence wasn't enough to support the case. TMZ's report also included a statement from the Miami-Dade State Attorney which read that prosecutors had reviewed all evidence and taken numerous statements from witnesses many of whom were interviewed in California, they are not taking any kind of criminal action regarding the incident. This is of particular importance to Brown because if convicted he would have been in violation of his probation for his 2009 assault on Rihanna.
