Thursday Dish

More details have been released regarding the death of rapper Trina's brother. The young man was shot during an altercation with another gentleman. He was shot as he got off  a bike. The shooter is currently being held without bond. Rapper Lil Scrappy has been released after his recent arrest for probation violation. He was ordered to provide a urine sample, which authorities say was bad. Scrappy now says there shouldn't have been an arrest warrant issued for him because the sample wasn't bad.  Ratings for Fox's "American Idol" have plummeted of late and rumors are now swirling regarding singer Mariah Carey being replaced. Some say Jennifer Lopez could return, and singer Steven Tyler has said that he'd love to return to the show. We'll have to wait and see what happens. Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson is now doing damage control after comments he made to web site Allhiphop.com. He stated that if anyone is fat and nasty, they should do something about it. He now says he was referencing lessons he learned when he was in a similar position. Rapper Lazy Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is in the middle of a paternity dispute.  A woman claims he fathered her child, but no paternity test as been taken. Legally, he can deny being the father. In the meantime, he and the rest of Bone have buried the hatchet with the Dog Pound. The two groups feuded some years ago and have decided to call a truce. They have also announced plans to do a collaboration album and tour together as well. Nominees for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards have been announced and singer Rihanna is among the top three most popular with ten nominations including Top Dance Song, Top R&B Album, Top Social Artist and Top Artist overall. Rapper Nicki Minaj is up for seven awards and rapper Wiz Khalifa received in the Top Hot 100 Song category for his collaboration with Maroon 5 on the single "Payphone". Performances will include one from Prince, who will be honored with the Billboard Icon Award and Miguel is up for the new fan-driven Milestone Award to be presented by Cee-Lo  The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will air on May 19, for the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Actor/comedian Tracy Morgan will host. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Wife Swap" on ABC and "Community" on NBC. Happy Thursday!
