Friday Facts

Rapper Chris "Daddy Mack" Smith spoke at partner Chris Kelly's funeral saying Kelly was a true friend. Smith broke down as he spoke. The service was attended by other members of the So So Def family including Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat and members of Xscape. Kelly was found dead in his Atlanta home. Authorities suspect the cause of death was an overdose. A toxicology report will confirm the cause.  Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder are among those who've written letters pleading for Lauryn Hill's release. Hill posted a letter thanking those who wrote letters. It looks like there may be a major shake up on Fox's "American Idol". Rumor has it that producers are considering replacing all current judges, as the show has sunk in ratings in recent years. There's been no word on possible replacements. Only judge Randy Jackson has released a statement saying he's decided to leave to focus on business ventures. One of those ventures won't be managing fellow judge Mariah Carey, as she's signed with the same firm that manages Alicia Keys. Rapper Wiz Khalifa has been cleared of a drug possession charge he was hit with some time back. He was arrested for marijuana possession, but has avoided serving time. He'll appear in a public service announcement about the dangers of marijuana use, however. In theaters this weekend: "The Great Gatsby" and "Peebles". On the tube: "Kitchen Nightmares" on Fox, "Undercover Boss" on CBS, "Shark Tank" on ABC and "Fashion Star" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
