Tuesday Tales
The film "Fast & Furious 6" topped the holiday weekend box office, earning over $120 million. "The Hangover Part 3", "Star Trek Into Darkness", "Epic" and "The Great Gatsby" round out the top five films of the week. Rapper Chief Keef now says that the officer who arrested him a few weeks ago is racist. The comments made were in reference to an incident where the Chicago native was caught smoking marijuana in an Atlanta hotel room. He says the officer came to the room and gave him a look. Sounds like he was arrested for committing a crime. As if she hasn't had enough trials, actress Amanda Bynes recently clashed with singer Rihanna via Twitter. Bynes released some rants, one of which called the "Diamonds" singer "ugly". Of course, the singer responded by saying "See what happens when they cancel intervention". Bynes has gone on record as saying she has so many followers that others post mock tweets. She wanted to address them. No response from Rihanna. While launching her tour with singer/songwriter/producer The Dream, singer Kelly Rowland gave an impassioned performance in the DMV. Taking the stage in Silver Springs Maryland, the singer went through her hits "Kisses Down Low", "Motivation" and "Can't Nobody". She even offered solo renditions of her features on Future's "Neva End", Nelly's "Dilemma" and Ludacris's "Representin". But it was The Dream penned hit "Dirty Laundry" that brought the star to tears. By the time Rowland got to the songs lyrics about "Don't nobody love you/not your mama, not your daddy/Not even B. she rested her head in her hands and let the tears flow as the crowd cheered her on and the band stopped the music. She later signaled the band to continue playing and jumped off the stool on which she sat to deliver a powerful ending. Her album "Take A Good Game" hits stores on June 18. On DVD: "Side Effect". The Dream has new music in stores this week. On the tube: "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Extreme Weight Loss" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!
