Friday Facts
Singer Justin Biebers friend rapper Lil Twist had yet another run in with the law. The rapper was stopped for speeding after being caught doing 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana. The incident occurred in the gated community where Bieber lives. Neither Bieber nor Lil Twist have commented on the matter. Back in March, the rapper was stopped for speeding in Bieber's white Ferrari. Rapper Lil Scrappy has released and dedicated a song to slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin. The rapper speaks of seeking justice for Martin, even to the point of physical violence. Not a good idea. Meanwhile, the jury in Martin's murder trial will hear closing arguments today. Martin was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman while returning home from the store. ABC's "The View" co-host Sheri Shepard recently hinted that actress Jenny McCarthy could possibly join the show soon. Nothing's been confirmed so stay tuned. Singer Rihanna is apologizing to students of Barrington High School in Chicago with a $5,000 check after showing up late for an appearance in March. The money donated will counterbalance the cost of her unpunctual visit. She was scheduled to arrive at the institution at 1 p.m., but didn't arrive until 5 p.m., blaming Chicago traffic for her tardiness. According to Billboard, the singer traveled to Chicago's northwest suburbs after students at Barrington High School won her "Shine Like A Diamond" video contest. The students shot a five-minute short film highlighting the schools volunteer and community service efforts. The students were awarded free concert tickets, CDs and signed Rihanna merchandise for her tardiness. Billboard says whatever cash is left over will be allocated for the students at the school. In theaters this weekend: "Pacific Rim" and "Grown Ups 2". On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "Undercover Boss" on CBS, "Shark Tank" on ABC and "Camp" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
