Wednesday Roundup

Autopsy reports indicate that "Glee" star Cory Monteith died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. The actor talked about  his struggle with addiction shortly before his death. He indicated that he'd been addicted since the age of 13. He was found dead in his hotel room in Canada. Singer Chris Brown isn't letting the fact that a judge recently revoked  his  probation get the best of him. He was seen partying at the Playboy mansion recently. No word on whether he had a date. Rapper Nas has become a scholar of sorts. The Hip Hop Archive and Harvard University's W.EB. Dubois Institute announced the "Nasir Jones Hip Hop Fellowship", which will give scholars and artists who demonstrate exceptional creative and scholastic abilities to show that education is real power. The goal of the fellowship is to unlock ideas aimed at enriching hip hop traditions while respecting the culture's foundation of critical insight. Nas said in a statement that he's excited about the fellowship. Nas released his debut album "Illmatic" in 1994. At 19-years-old, he brought to life images of inner city living deep behind the walls of a public housing project infested with drugs and violence. The album went on to sale 59,000 copies in it's first week but was certified platinum in 2001. He has released 11 studio albums, the most recent being 2012's  "Life Is Good", which earned him a Grammy nomination at this year's ceremony. If actress Lindsey Lohan has her way she'll receive $2 million for an up-coming interview with Oprah Winfrey. No word on whether a deal has been reached. After taking quite a bit of heat for the incident some time ago, rapper Lil Wayne as edited out the flag stomping scene from his "God Bless America" video. The original clip showed the America flag being lowered and Wayne stepping on it. Wayne said via Twitter and Facebook that he didn't step on the flag intentionally. He's currently crisscrossing the country with T.I. and 2 Chainz on the "America's Most Wanted " tour, which ends September 1. He'll head out on a European run with Mac Miller. On the tube: "MasterChef" on Fox, "Big Brother" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy hump day!
