Monday Memo
The film "Gravity" topped the weekend box office, earning over $55 million. "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2", "Runner, Runner", "Prisoners" and "Rush" round out the top five films of the week. During a recent interview with British newspaper The Guardian, singer Chris Brown revealed that he lost his virginity at the tender age of eight to a 14-year-old girl. He added that he was also exposed to porn around the same time. He opened up about the incident with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, calling it a "probably the biggest wake up call for me". Brown said the incident taught him to handle himself in a mature manner. Brown's next album, "X" is set for release on Nov. 19. Rapper/singer Lauryn Hill is officially a free woman. Hill was released from Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn. on Friday. Hill plead guilty to tax evasion earlier this year and was sentenced to three months in July. Before she began her sentence, the ex-Fugee member paid over $900,000 of the debt stemming from $1.8 million in income she earned between 2005-2007. Prior to her release, the mother of six released "Consumerism" and is working on a new album titled "Letters From Exile". Outkast member Big Boi and his wife have split. Sherlita Patton filed for divorce in Fulton County Court citing that the marriage is "irretrievably broken", according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The couple has two children, ages 18 and 12. Mrs. Patton is seeking sole physical custody of the minor, spousal and child support, as well as an equitable division of material assets and lawyers fees. Court documents show she hired attorney John Mayoue, the divorce attorney instrumental in helping singer Usher when custody of his two sons. Speaking with Hip Hop DX last December, Big Boi denied having any martial problems. He has yet to comment on the split. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars Live" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Monday!
