Monday Memo

"Toy Story 3" topped the weekend box office for the third week in a row, raking in 59 million dollars in reciepts. "Grown Ups", Knight and Day", "The Karate Kid" and "The A Team" round out the top five films of the week. The BET Awards aired last night and the show was filled with performances from A list stars such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Diddy and Dirty Money, Nicki Minaj and Drake. Drake, Nicki Minaj and Alicia Keys were also big award winners. Singer John Legend received the Humanitary Award and Prince received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Tributes to Prince as well as Michael Jackson and Teddy Pendergrass were performed as well. Awards show host Queen Latifah performed skits as the various charaters she's played in her many films. All in all, the show was a well put together and exciting event that many probably won't soon forget. Actor Steve Carell has stated that he may leave the hit show "The Office" after the show's seventh season ends. He says he wants the fufill his contract and then spend more time with his family. Be sure to catch "Twilight: The Eclipse" when it hits your local cineplex. It's the latest in the hit film franchise and is sure to be worthy every dollar spent. On the tube: "Lie To Me' on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Bachelorette" on ABC and "Persons Unknown" on NBC. Happy Monday!
