Friday Facts
ABC's "Good Morning America" summer concert series has backed out of booking Grammy nominated rapper Drake due to security issues the NYC's Park Department could not handle. The NYPD explained to the Park Department that a certain level of security would be needed in order for the concert to move forward. An ABC spokesperson stated that "Good Morning American" was interested in book Drake, but nothing had been confirmed. The extra security precaution is a result of Drake's last outdoor outing at Manhattan's South Street Seaport where concert goers started a mini riot when they learned Drake would not perform.City officals canceled the event due to the unexpected outcome of the free show. Reps for Drake have not commented on ABC canceling the performance. Rapper 50 Cent has issued a Twitter petition against Bad Boy Records mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs urging users not to support Diddy's exploitation of late rapper Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace. The G Unit head honcho feels Combs is tarnishing the legacy of Christopher Wallace and is asking fans to speak up. Diddy's reps have not responded to 50's Twitter petition. Singer Celine Dion has announced that she is expecting twin boys. Congradulations. As mentioned previously, the Emmys will air on Aug 29 and voters gave the seal of approval to new blood. We'll see who takes home the covetted statue. In theaters this weekend: "Despicable Me" and "Predators". On the tube: "House" on Fox, "Medium" on CBS, "Wife Swap" on ABC and "Friday Night Lights" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
