Monday Memo

The action comedy "The Other Guys" topped the weekend box office, earning over 35 million dollars. "Inception", "Step Up 3D", "Salt" and "Dinner For Schmucks" round out the top five films of the week. Rapper Dorrough, who rose to fame with the hit single "Ice Cream Paint Job", has announced the title and release date of his second album. The sophomore disc, titled, "Get Big", will be released September 7, via Entertainment One Music/Ngenius. The rapper said in a statement that he spent a lot of time working on the tracks and has given comsumers what they deserve. It appears that not everyone is supporting rapper/singer/producer Wyclef Jean's bid for president of Haiti. Former Fugees member Pras has stated that he will vote for the opposition. Actor Sean Penn, who is well  known for his humanitarian efforts, recently said in a statement that special attention should be paid to those who are enamored with Wyclef Jean. Stay tuned. Be sure to tune into TV One's "Life After" tonight. Former hip hop groupie turned author Karrine "Superhead" Steffans will discuss her life and career on the hit series. Also, be sure to catch the comedy "Lottery Ticket" when it hits your local cineplex. The film stars Bow Wow, Loretta Devine, Mike Epps, Ice Cube and others. The trailor is very funny, to say the least, and the film should keep viewers in stitches. On the tube: "Teen Choice 2010" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Bachelor Pad" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy Monday!
