Friday Facts

It looks like things are looking up for rapper Snoop Dogg. He's completed his probation for an incident where he was arrested for having drugs and a gun in his vehicle. Here's hoping the legendary West coast MC stays on the straight and narrow. Singer and dancer Cheryl Cole has been booted from the television show "X Factor". According to TMZ, producers felt her accent would be too thick for American audiences to understand. She will be replaced by former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger. Cole will be booted back to the original UK version of the show. Scherzinger, who once served as a talent evaluator on the 2007 reality series "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll", will judge talent for "X Factor", which will begin in September. Legendary Parliment Funkadelic leader George Clinton has been hospitalized for a staph infection. The infection was discovered after a routine physical. Here's praying he gets well soon. According to the LA Times, cable station VH1 will revive it's music documentary series "Behind The Music". The show, which features musicians going under the microscope, will begin its new season on June 29 at 10 p.m. with a profile of rapper Missy Elliot. The rapper will discuss rumors about her weight, and being sexually molested as a child. Other artists scheduled to appear on the series this season include Ice Cube and Mary J. Blige. Rapper DMX, currently serving six months into a year-long sentence for violating his probation, will be released from prison on July 31, according to court documents pulled by HipHopDX. The former Ruff Ryders rapper returned to prison in December 2010 after being charged with drug possession while on probation from an arrest for aggravated assault. The troubled rapper has an extensive criminal record with 13 prison stints, and upon his last sentencing, a judge speculated that he may suffer from "an undiagnosed medical condition", possibly bi-polar disorder. He was temporarily admitted to a mental health facility. After his release at the end of July, he will be placed under supervised watch until August 12. Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs can now add yet another award to his list of honors. ASCAP, the non-profit organization that collects publishing fees on behalf of songwriters and composers, has announced that it will be giving it's Founders Award to the Bad Boy Entertainment impresario. He will receive the award at ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, to be held June 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The ratings for the farewell episode of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" were the highest in the shows history. Yet another milestone for the queen of media. Fox's "American Idol" ended its season with a bang, drawing 29.3 million viewers for its two-hour plus finale, which saw Scotty McCreery beat out Lauren Alaina. That's 21% higher than the Season 9 finale with 24.2 million. In theaters this weekend: "The Hangover 2" and "Kung Fu Panda 2". On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "Flashpoint" on CBS, "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" on ABC and "Friday Night Lights" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
