Monday Memo

The film "Real Steel" topped the weekend box office, earning over $16 million dollars. "Footloose", "The Thing", "The Ides of March" and "Dolphin Tale" round out the top five films of the week. Just as singer Beyonce cleared up rumors of faking her pregnancy, yet another rumor has surfaced that her father, Matthew Knowles, offered to purchase a baby for she and husband Jay Z to raise as their own. The other strange twist to the story is that the offer was  made to the same woman Mr. Knowles reportedly had an affair with some time ago, and impregnated. It seems the stories of the singer and whether or not she's faking her pregnancy get stranger by the day, and it remains to be seen what will hit the rumor mill next. In the meantime, the singer will premiere her new video tomorrow.  Couple's alerts. Singer Nicole Scherzinger and her race car driver boyfriend have reportedly called it quits. The two dated for some time and at any rate, best wishes to both. Chris Brown and Kelly Rowland are reportedly now a couple. Although there's been no confirmation or denial, the two are currently touring together, and that may or may not be how the rumor began. Reality star Kim Kardashian continues to make career moves. She's now set to star in actor/writer/director Tyler Perry's next film "The Marriage Counselor". There's no word on when filming will begin or when the film will hit theaters, however. The film should give fans an opportunity to see the star in a different light. Rapper Drake explained during a recent interview the concept behind the cover art for his latest album, "Take Care". He says  it's about being a kid who has gone from his mom's basement to being a king. He also mentioned the perks that go with fame. The rapper added that he's not going to allow the perks to consume him. It's great to see that he's maintaining a proper perspective. Rapper DMX is continues to work on his comeback. He first began by firing his management team saying his money and career have been sabotaged long enough. He's since hired J-Mike Management & Entertainment to represent him. The team has issued a warning to those who may try to book the rapper for shows saying they are aware that people are making deposits for shows, only to find out that they are fraudulent. They go on to say that the rapper is not responsible for those deposits and all bookings should be done through J-Mike Management & Entertainment. Meanwhile, the rapper premiered his video for his single, "Last Hope" on "106 & Park", made a surprise appearance on the BET Hip Hop Awards, and is scheduled to release his seventh studio album this winter. It appears that rappers are the new rock stars, according to men's magazine GQ. For it's upcoming November issue, the magazine has placed none other than Lil Wayne and Eminem on the cover along side Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. The magazine also sited Raekwon, The Black Eyed Peas, Erykah Badu, Lee "Scratch" Perry and TV On The Radio as rock's last survivors. Catch the profiles of the other artists in the November issue of GQ. The competition continues on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars". It should be an exciting evening as the contests try to wow the judges and the studio and viewing audience. The show airs tonight on ABC. On the tube: "MLB Baseball" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC and "The Sing-Off" on NBC. Happy Monday!
