Wednesday Roundup

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz was arrested at LaGuardia airport after security found what they thought were brass knuckles in his carry on bag. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The rapper explained that it was actually a four-finger ring with the word dope on it. The late Donna Summer will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a church in Nashville. The church expects roughly 1,000 attendees, although it is invitation only. Representatives for singer Ray J blame his recent visit to a Las Vegas hospital on jet lag and exhaustion. Another rumor circulating is that the singer was upset by a confrontation with Whitney Houston's family during the Billboard Music Awards. At any rate, let's hope he's doing better. Mediatakeout.com is reporting that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez split over Rihanna. Rihanna and Bieber reportedly got together at some point. Meanwhile, ex Chris Brown found out about the two and did the recent remix where he dissed her. So far, no comment from any of the parties involved. In the meantime, Brown has asked fans to stop death threats against Pink and anyone else who blasted him for lip syncing on the Billboard Music Awards. As mentioned, Pink, Joe Jonas and others took to Twitter to let their feelings be known about Brown's performance. At least he made a statement about the remarks that were made.  A concert promoter is going after rapper Trina for $16,000 for failing to appear at a concert in St Louis. Web site TMZ has letters from the promoter showing Trina was paid $7,000 to perform at the Imperial Palace on May 19, but when the day came, she was a no show, leaving a crowd full of angry fans. Reps for the rapper say she had to cancel the event due to conflicting obligations, but the promoter denies the claim, saying she never received a formal cancellation notice. Now the promoter wants $7,000 back, plus an additional $9,000 in promotional cost and damages. According to Trina's reps, the Miami rapper tried to return the performance fee, but the promoter refused to accept it. They say that the promoter deliberately allowed the show to go on with Trina's name attached to it, although she knew the star wouldn't show. Both parties are pursuing their legal options. For those who've been waiting patiently, rapper Jay Z has announced the line up for his first ever Made In America festival. Festival headliners include Pearl Jam, Skrillex, DeAngelo, Rick Ross and more. 11 more artists are yet to announced for a two day performance that will take place over Labor Day weekend September 1 and 2. Tickets for the event go on sale today. The nominees for the BET Awards have been announced, and as usual, Jay Z, Kanye West and Beyonce have all been nominated. Frankie Beverly & Maze will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The show will be hosted by actor Samuel L. Jackson. NFL star Donald Driver was crowned the winner of "Dancing With The Stars". Congratulations! The season finale of "American Idol" airs tonight with Philip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez squaring off for the grand prize. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on NBC. Happy hump day!
