Monday Memo

The film "Ice Age: Continental Drift" topped the weekend box office, earning over $46 million dollars. "The Amazing Spider Man", "Ted", "Brave" and "Savages" round out the top five films of the week. Sad news. The boy R&B star Usher called a stepson during his marriage to Tameka Foster has died. The boy was taken off life support on Saturday after being declared brain dead. He was injured during a jet ski accident. Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson was reported missing by her nephew Trent Jackson over the weekend. She attended a Jackson brothers show with daughter Rebbie and reportedly hadn't been  heard from. Granddaughter Paris took to Twitter to comment on the incident. Mrs Jackson has spoken with police, and says she's in Arizona and is just fine. Rumors are swirling that singer Chris Brown wants ex-girlfriend and fellow singer Rihanna back. Rihanna, however, isn't the least bit concerned, since she was seen on a yacht bathing suit in tow, with an Arabian Prince over the weekend. Singer Christina Milan was seen getting some fun in the sun time in as well. Producers for Fox's "American Idol" are still in the process of determine who will replace Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. A lot of names have been thrown around, including Mariah Carey, and Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has expressed interest in the gig. The producers, however, are considering offering some former contestants the gig. Taylor  Hicks, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are a few of the former contestants being considered for the gig. Stay tuned. Is Chicago rapper Common broke? Although his financial status hasn't been confirmed, it's rumored that his apartment has been foreclosed on since he hasn't paid the mortgage since March. Stay tuned. With the release of their "Cruel Summer " album just two weeks away, the G.O.O.D Music crew will grace the cover of the August/September issue of Complex magazine. The stark black and white image features the faces of Kanye West, Common, Q-Tip, Kid Cudi, John Legend, Pusha T, Big Sean and 2 Chainz arranged in the shape of a crucifix(hopefully, Pastor Jomo K. Johnson won't see this one!). The group discusses what makes G.O.O.D Music so good. L.A. Live's Grammy Museum will honor the late Whitney Houston with an exhibit that will commemorate the late music legend's legacy. Opening August 15, "Whitney!: Celebrating The Musical Legacy Of Whitney Houston", will showcase some of Houston's memorabilia, including the white beaded gown she wore at the 1194 Grammy Awards where she won Album of the Year for the Bodyguard Soundtack and Houston's personal bible. Featuring interviews with family, friends, colleagues and admirers, the exhibit is expected to run through February 2013. Houston passed away on February 11, 2012, before the 2012 Grammy Awards. She was 48. On the tube: "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Bachelor Pad" on ABC and ""Fear Factor" on NBC. Happy Monday!
