Meanwhile, it's unclear when his next studio album will hit store shelves, rapper 50 Cent has inked a deal with Fox for his own cartoon series. The series, to reportedly be written by Carl Jones, will be based loosely on the rapper's childhood. It will be his second film. In 2005, he starred in "Get Rich Or Die Tryin", in which he made his acting debut in the lead role. He also has roles in "Frozen Ground" and "The Tomb" coming. Snoop Dogg fans will be happy to know that the documentary, "Reincarnated", which documents his transformation from rapper to reggae singer, will hit theaters on March 15. Although he's been hit with criticism from some Rastafarians claiming he's exploiting the religion, he's received blessings from Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley. The film should do well among fans. Rapper Jay Z has signed producer Timbaland to his Roc Nation. While the details of the deal haven't been reported, the two have collaborated on many hit singles, including "Big Pimpin", ""Dirt Off My Shoulder" and "Off That". Rapper Rick Ross has hired additional armed security after the drive-by shooting that occurred on Monday. Former drug king-pin Freeway Ricky Ross said that he thinks the shooting happened because Ross doesn't understand the code of the street. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a man by the name of Curley Dean Holden has been charged with the murder of Justin Mitchell, a.k.a. Yung Teddy. The 23-year-old rapper was found shot dead in his apartment earlier this month after receiving a string of threatening text messages just hours before his death, he even tweeted about the eerie messages he was receiving. Holden is a convicted felon who also goes by the name Willie Danyel Hunt. After being on the run for some time, Cobb County jail records show that Holden was placed under arrest on January 23 for "terroristic threats" for a hostile incident that occurred at a barbecue. Then, on Friday, while in jail, he was charged with murder and three counts of assault in Mitchells death. Holden has been in prison twice and was released in August after serving eighteen months following a conviction on drug charges and making false statements, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. Tuesday Tales
Singer Frank Ocean has apparently already spoken to the police regarding his brawl with Chris Brown, now Brown is ready to tell his side of the story. According to TMZ, Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos has reached out to police and stated his client is willing to talk about the fight. A source close to the case told the web site, which broke the story, that the singer is confident he did nothing wrong during the brawl at Westlake Studios. Geragos is confident that video surveillance of the studio will back up his clients story. Contrary to rumors that Brown threw the first punch, the surveillance footage does not show either Brown nor Ocean involved in the melee. Punches were thrown by members of the singers entourages. Still, police want to here what happened in the parking lot, where the fight started, and where there was no surveillance footage available. Brown fled the seen under the instructions of his lawyer to get out of dodge when he sees trouble brewing. Rapper 50 Cent recently posted a picture of Rick Ross' Rose Royce in Instagram. After rumors of a Destiny's Child reunion at this weekends Superbowl surfaced, group member Michelle Williams revealed during an interview with station WRUG that there will be no reunion. She stated she's doing the musical "Fela!". This does come as shocking news, considering a set list was released, and the recent release of their single "Nuclear" from their album, "Love Songs", which was released today. Fans will surely be disappointed by the news. The group hasn't performed together since the 2006 NBA All-Star game, where they sang "The Star Spangled Banner". It looks like Abeyance will take the stage as a one woman act, as usual. However, the contents of her performance are under much speculation, as it was rumored he set would include new material. Since no new Beyonce material has been released, could this be a rumor too? At any rate, after Beyonce's inauguration performance, and the lip syncing controversy, everyone will be watching to see if she'll do just that. Atlanta rapper Future has just amicably reached a settlement in a child support case in which a DNA test proved that he fathered a 10-year-old boy. "Mama", "Silver Linings Playbook", "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Parker" round out the top five films of the week. Singer Chris Brown was leaving a Los Angeles recording studio when he was reportedly blocked from leaving by singer Frank Ocean's entourage. Ocean reportedly told Brown "this is my studio an my parking spot" Brown attempted to calm the situation by shaking Ocean's hand before being attacked by his handlers. This doesn't look good as Brown is still on probation. It remains to be seen what charges, if any, will be filed. Ocean, meanwhile, tweeted picture of his broken hand. Actor/comedian Katt Williams is off the hook. A judge as dismissed child endangerment charges against the star stemming from an incident a while back where police found guns and marijuana in his home. The children were placed in protective custody. Since the guns were locked away, no charges were filed against Williams. Fans looking forward to a G-Unit reunion will be disappointed. G-Unit general 50 recently stated that a reunion won't happen because he's given all he has to Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks. Singer Tina Turner is saying goodbye to America for good. According to website TMZ, the iconic singer has decided to renounce her American citizenship and move to Switzerland, where she's been living since the mid-90s. Turner said in a statement that she's very happy there and can't imagine a better place to live. Friday Facts
More Beyonce news. As mentioned previously, the singer is set to perform at the Superbowl. It's been reported that one of the songs she will do is "Crazy In Love", although no one has stated that husband Jay Z will appear with her. After her solo segment, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will join her on stage to perform a medley of Destiny's Child hits. It should be an exciting show for viewers and those who will be attending the event in person as well. Rapper Chief Keef recently posted a photo of he and his family on Instagram and it was a not so nice one. He was once banned from the site after posting a sexually explicit photo. Singer Brandy will perform at the 11th annual Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase in Atlanta GA. Eight competing bands for HBCUs will battle it out at the Georgia Dome to highlight the showmanship of HBCU marching bands. Honda Battle of the Bands is the only national music scholarship program that supports HBCU music education programs. The singer has more than performing at that event on her plate. She's engaged and has a hot new album on the charts. There's no word on a wedding date and whether she'll tour to support her album, however. Singer Keri Hilson recently put rumors of a beef with Beyonce to rest. During an interview with HipHollywood, Ms Keri Baby responded to the rumors, which began in 2008 over lyrics to her single "Turnin Me On". Hilson stated she has no beef with Beyonce or any other female artist. She added that it's interesting that we live in a gullible world. Anything said or printed is interpreted as true. She went on to say that she's human and the rumors are hurtful. Rapper Chief Keef may be sending 60 days in juvie, but he has a huge pay day to look forward to when he's released. The details of his deal with Interscope Records have been released and it's worth an eye-popping $6 million. According to DNAinfo, the terms of his recording contract were made public in a Cook County chancery court filing that seeks a judge's approval for the deal, which is legally require because the rapper, at 17, is still a minor. According to court papers, the deal covers three albums, a greatest hits compilation and a separate deal for Keef's own label. He'll also receive an advance from the label as well. After a string of legal problems this news is the one bright spot in the rapper's life. In theaters this weekend: "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters", "Movie 43" and "Parker". Yet more fall out from the Beyonce lip syncing controversy. A Marine rep stated the star did lip sync "The Star Bangled Banner" at President Barack Obama's inauguration. Now, another Marine rep says they don't know why the person said that because they weren't there and wouldn't know for certain. There's been a media firestorm since the story broke and only time will tell where things will go from here. Meanwhile, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has come to Beyonces defense saying she thinks the pop star did a wonderful job with her rendition. It looks like not everyone is impressed with rapper Snoop Doggs transformation from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion. Some in the Rastafarian culture believe the rapper is a fraud and using the culture and religion to promote his new documentary and album. So far, the rapper hasn't addressed the allegations. We'll wait and see what transpires from this point. Fans who saw last night's episode of "American Idol" now know that it showed the now infamous fight between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, although the part where Minaj reportedly threatened to shoot Carey wasn't aired. This has to make one wonder how things will play out for the remainder of the season, as Carey did seem to annoy Minaj. More drama is sure to erupt as the season wears on, so fans should definitely tune in. A recent trip to the studio turned into a harrowing experience for singer/songwriter Bobby V. According to the Associated Press, the singer was the victim of a carjacking outside Hot Beats Recording Studio. Two assailants forced him to give up his 2013 Bentley at gunpoint, which he did without a fight. He later took to Twitter to talk about the experience saying God saved him and he encouraged everyone to do whatever they wish and be thankful for what they have. Fortunately, Atlanta police apprehended one of the suspects after witnesses identified him. The luxury vehicle was recovered by an off-duty lieutenant who heard about the robbery over the police radio. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Last Resort" on ABC and "30 Rock" on NBC. Happy Thursday!

Wednesday Roundup
Singer Bobby Brown has just won a get out of jail free pass. His court date has been moved to next month for driving with a suspended license and DWI. He was arrested for the same charges back in March. No word on the next court date. Mogul Russell Simmons and his brother the Rev Run have been accused of stealing money from their Pasties shoe line. Russell says the gentleman making the allegations is a disgruntled employee. Rappers Chief Keef and Gunplay have both made hip hop magazine XXLs list of "Freshmen Of 2012" list. The magazine honors artists it thinks have contributions to make to the music. Rapper 2 Chainz is ready to show off his acting chops. He'll make a guest appearance on the hit sitcom "2 Broke Girls" where he'll play himself. No work on when the episode will air. It's been confirmed that singer Beyonce did lip sync "The Star Spangled Banner". It was a last minute decision by the singer herself, who recorded the second some time before. Lack of rehearsal time with the band may be one reason for the decision. Neither the White House nor Beyonce have commented. Singer Chris Brown is the latest victim of a celebrity prank. Los Angeles police were called to the singers home claiming for a domestic dispute involving a gun. When they arrived, they found on dispute, no gun, and Brown wasn't home. It's possible that he could have been out with on-again-off again girlfriend Rihanna. The two have been seen around Los Angeles together, and even recorded a song together before leaving the studio by separate exits. The prank is the latest in series of "swatting" pranks targeting celebrities. Last week a caller falsely reported a gun at the home of Kris and Bruce Jenner. The LAPD is on the case, and have made catching the culprits a priority. Tonight's episode of "American Idol" will reportedly include the infamous fight between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Fans will recall the two got into a verbal confrontation some time back which caused a media firestorm. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "Criminal Minds" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Whitney" on NBC. Happy hump day!

Tuesday Tales
A who's who of the music industry and Hollywood went to Washington DC to witness the inauguration of President Barack Obama to a second term in office. Singer Beyonce performed the "Star Spangled Banner", singer James Taylor performed "America, The Beautiful" and Kelly Clarkson performed "My Country Tis Of Thee". Actresses Gabrielle Union and Angela Bassett attended as well as actor/comedian Marlon Wayans and actor Boris Kojoe. The days events included a luncheon and a parade, with the Obamas getting out of the presidential limousine to walk a few blocks down Pennsylvania Ave, to the delight of the crowd. The couple later attended two inaugural balls. The event also took place on the same day the nation celebrated the birthday of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Singer Justin Timberlake hasn't made an ordinary comeback to music. The singer, who hasn't released an album since 2006, made history by seeing his latest single "Suit & Tie" climb the Billboard charts at a record pace. On it's way to debuting at No 14 on the Billboard 100 chart, the Jay Z assisted song recorded the highest first-week plays total in the charts 20-year history. According to Nielson BDS, which monitors mainstream Top 40 radio airplay, "Suit & Tie" garnered 6,045 spins for the week of January 14 to 20. That marked eclipsed the previous high of 4,602 set by Lady Gaga's "Born This Way". He also claimed the crown for the highest-debuting song by a male artist on the Pop Songs chart. Digital sales of the single came in just over 310,000 for the first week. Chicago rapper Chief Keef is in more legal trouble. After being sentenced to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating his probation, the rapper has been hit with a lawsuit for child support. According to web site TMZ, a teen girl, possibly in middle school, has filed a petition for child support against the rap star. The teen alleges that Chief Keef fathered her daughter in 2011, and is asking for an undisclosed amount in monthly support, along with health insurance and medical expenses. Keef, born Keith Cozart, reportedly fathered the child when he was 15 years old. TMZ speculates that the mother could have been in the 6th grade at the time. In the state of Illinois it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to engage in sexual acts, even if consensual. Though offenders can be imprisoned for up to a year and are required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, the crime is hardly ever prosecuted. It's unlikely that the rapper will face any charges for the relationship. On DVD: "Wake In Fright". On the tube: "Raising Hope" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "The Taste" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rocker" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!

Friday Facts
Chicago rapper Chief Keef has been put on a brief time out from making music. A judge has sentenced the "I Don't Like" star to 60 days in a juvenile detention center. The charge stems from the rapper running afoul of his probation for a 2012 gun charge. Earlier this week, he was arrested following a court appearance, where judge Carl Anthony Walker ordered him to be detained for his "unwillful" disregard for the terms of his probation. After hearing the judge's decision, Chief Keef begged for his freedom. The rapper's legal troubles stem from a video interview done with Pitchfork where he's seen holding a gun at a New York City gun range. Release of the video led to backlash for the web site and lead prosecutors to argue that he violated the terms of his probation. He was on house arrest for pointing a gun at police officers in 2012. While 2012 was a breakout year for the artist, he was involved in several controversies. In September, he took to Twitter to mock the murder of fellow Chicago rapper Lil Jo Jo. His lawyer said in a statement that he's ready to face what's ahead of him and move on with his life and career. Rapper Nas recently paid rapper Kendrick Lamar a compliment when he said during an interview that the breakout star's debut album, "g.o.o.d kid, m.A.A.d City" was his favorite album of last year. Lamar heard of the comments while speaking with Fuse and was humbled and surprised. He said the comments were meaningful considering he looks up to the Queensbridge rapper. Compton rapper Guerrilla Black has been arrested for credit card fraud. He was taken into custody by police as well as members of the United States Secret Service, according to the LA Times. Black, born Charles Tony Williamson, was on pre-trial release for unrelated fraud charges at the time of his arrest. In July 2012 he was arrested for buying thousands of stolen credit card numbers. Prior to his legal troubles, Black mad a splash in 2004 with his debut album "Guerrilla City". He drew comparisons to Notorious B.I.G. Yet another round of auditions ended Fox's "American Idol' last night and it's on to the next city. It'll be interesting to see who makes the final cut. In theaters this weekend: "Broken City", "The Last Stand" and "Mama". On the tube: "Fringe" on Fox, "Undercover Boss" on CBS, "The Last Man Standing" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers' on NBC. Make it a weekend!

Rapper Chief Keef will appear in court today for sentencing for probation violation. He was shown being interviewed while holding a gun at a gun range. Singer Chris Brown will appear in court as well. A judge wants an update on his five-year probation for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna. A photo of Rihanna has surfaced where she's seen hugging someone, and the person has a neck tattoo similar to Brown's. Rapper 50 Cent has dodged a lawsuit. A judge threw out a lawsuit from a gentleman claiming 50 stole some lines from his memoir. 50 does spit similar lines on a track he recorded. A So So Def Recordings reunion will take place in Atlanta and will feature Kriss Kross, Xscape, Jagged Edge and Da Brat. However, it looks like Xscape member Kandi Burruss will not be a part of it. Reportedly there's been some tension between she and another member of the group. We'll have to wait and see how things pan out. Since the news broke of yet another photo of rapper Ice T's wife CoCo and another man surfaced, the rapper/actor has posted a photo of himself working out in a gym. After being nominated for several Grammy awards, singer Frank Ocean can now add another honor to the list. The breakout star was nominated by GLAAD for Outstanding Music Artist. The GLAAD Media Awards will take place over three separate ceremonies in New York on March 16, Los Angeles on April 20, and San Francisco on May 11. Although Big Boi and Andre 3000 have reconnected for a few remixes, Three Stacks made clear in a recent statement that it's not an Outkast reunion. In a statement to Spin, Three Stacks said he was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean and T.I. He discussed the musical direction with each artist, and only after that, was Big Boi's name mentioned. Though some have billed the remixes as an Outkast reunion, Andres says that's not the case. He added that it wasn't his decision to make the remixes and was surprised to hear they were being released. Big Boi revealed that Andre has always been reluctant for the two of them to appear on someone elses song together. Andre didn't want an Outkast record to appear on someone elses LP. Hopefully there's a reunion still in the works. Fox's "American Idol" kicked off it's new season last night with the first round of auditions. It's going to be interesting to see how the season goes. Only time will tell. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Last Resort" on ABC and "30 Rock" on NBC. Happy Thursday!

Rapper Cassidy is now speaking out about rape allegations against him. He now says that when he was 16 he and some friends had consensual sex with a young lady. The incident was taped, so he was never charged with a crime. Singer Rihanna cut her recent interview with Complex magazine short. During the interview, she was asked about her duet and relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. She replied that it's nobody's business. "Nobody's Business" happens to be the name of their duet as well. "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" star Kandi Burress has gotten engaged to her producer boyfriend. Rapper CamRon has just gotten engaged as well. Congratulations to both. Yet another picture of rapper Ice T's wife CoCo and another man has surfaced, and it remains to be seen if the two will remain together. CoCo reportedly dmed the man and asked that he removed the pic, but he ratted her out instead. He responded by saying the two had a one night stand. Luther Campbell, of the eighties rap group 2 Live Crew had a few choice words for director Spike Lee. Lee criticized director Quinton Tarantino over his use of the N word in his film "Django Unchained". Campbell responded by saying the film more accurately depicts the African-American experience than any of Lee's films. Campbell added that Lee is upset because the character Samuel L. Jackson played in the film resembles him. Rapper Kid Cudi will make yet another appearance on the cover of Complex magazine. He'll make is sixth appearance on the February/March issue since 2009 (four solo appearances, one with WZRD and one as part of G.O.O.D. Music). Tuesday Tales
Chicago rapper Chief Keef may go to jail. A judge is scheduled to decide whether the MC violated his probation by being interviewed at a gun range and being show holding a gun. Here's a backstage moment that one probably caught at the Golden Globes. Director Quinton Taratino responded to criticism of his use of the N-word in his films by saying he's simply stating the facts of the time period of his film "Django Unchained" and didn't want to sugar coat it. Since he likes to shock others, when actor Don Cheadle entered the room he asked that no N questions be asked. Only black people questions. During a recent interview with HuffPost Live, rapper Big Boi, of Outkast, revealed how he broke from Barack Obama supporting pears like Jay Z and Young Jeezy by voting for libertarian party candidate Gary Johnson. He says he doesn't have any issues with Obama the person, he's just more libertarian than most. After much criticism, Oxygen has cancelled the reality series starring rapper Shawty Lo. The program, which was to be titled "All My Baby Mamas", drew criticism for a concept that some believe projects a negative stereotype regarding African-American families. In one of several online petitions, producers of the show were condemned for exploiting Lo's situation. He has 11 children by 10 different women. Sabrina Lamb, author of the most popular petition, which drew 38,000 signatures, says the show's most egregious offense would be the impact on the children. She stated in an interview with the Daily Beast that the show is about more than a rapper and his girlfriends. It's about the children who had no choice in how they came into the world. She added that the show sets them up to be ridiculed and made fun of and one one should be ok with that. No comment from Shawty Lo. Although she's been mum on baby news, Kim Kardashian opened up about her pregnancy during an interview on "The Today Show". Sitting along side sister Kourtney who she stars with on the series "Kim & Kourtney Take Miami", the reality stars said the bundle of joy is due in July. The couple recently purchased a home in Beverly Hills together and have discussed marriage, but she added she's in no rush to walk down the isle. West announced the pregnancy during a concert in Atlantic City, which Kim confirmed he did on his own. She added he does what he feels and may have been feeling it at that moment. She added that the pregnancy is a blessing. On DVD: "Taken 2" and "I Am Bruce Lee". On the tube: "Raising Hope" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Modern Family" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!

Monday Memo
The film "Zero Dark Thirty" topped the weekend box office earning over $24 million dollars. "A Haunted House", "Gangster Squad", "Django Unchained" and "Les Miserables" round out the top five films of the week. According to web site TMZ, legendary singer Stevie Wonder has been hit with a tax lien by the IRS for $40 is owes the government agency. No word on what his property is worth and there's been no comment from the singer. Rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri stopped foreclosure on his home for the second time in four months. He's reported paid the IRS $193,000, but still owes them $410,000. Dupri says that figure is wrong, so only time will tell how much the remainder of his payment will be. The Golden Globe awards aired last night and "Argo" and "Les Miserables" were big winners. In addition, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kept the audience in stitches with their antics. The one moment everyone is still talking about is when actress Jodi Foster gave a rambling speech about coming out. Fey and Poehler later said they were going out with her. A bit was done on Ben Afleck films, after which actress/singer Jennifer Lopez took the stage. Although it won't air for a few weeks, the Bet Honors awards took place as well. Singer Chaka Khan and actor Anthony Anderson were among the attendees at the event. Rapper Nas gave hip hop fans a scare recently. The Queensbridge MC has sent to a New York City hospital after suffering some dizziness. It turns out he was suffering from vertigo and spent time under a doctor's care. He had to cancel a scheduled appearance on "Live With Kelly & Michael" due to the illness. The rapper took to Twitter to let fans know he's doing better and will make up the missed appearance. He just wrapped up a tour with Lauren Hill, which began on New Year's Eve and ended with a hometown show at Radio City Music Hall. Rapper T.I. recently made his feelings known on the hotly debated gun control issue. He says taking guns away from innocent citizens will leave them unable to protect themselves from criminals. Rapper French Montana stopped by Angie Martinez' morning show to open about his Twitter feud with rapper 50 Cent. Montana says there's no problem between the two rappers. 50 may have read a Complex magazine interview that Montana did and misinterpreted something said. 50 Cent a tweet out and Montana responded. However, Montana made it clear he doesn't want to get bogged down in a contest with his elder. He says he's had a great year and wants to keep going. What looked to be singer Beyonce's 2013 comeback has turned out to be a Destiny's Child reunion. After news broke that the group would be releasing their first single in eight years, US Weekly now reports that Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will join Beyonce at the Superbowl Halftime Show in February. Rowland and Williams will join Beyonce after a solo segment to perform a medley of the group's hits. The DC portion of the show will include the nationwide debut of the single "Nuclear", the trio's first song in eight years. That's not all the music fans can expect.
