Tuesday Tales
Rapper Lil Wayne was released from the hospital in time for the release of his latest album, "I'm Not A Human Being 2". Fans will be happy to know the rapper is doing much better now. There's no word on when or if he'll tour to support his album. Singer Rihanna kept fans waiting again. This time it wasn't her fault. Her buses were detained at the Canadian border again. This time, it wasn't because marijuana was found, it was because a stage that needed to be assembled. Actor Will Smith is presently promoting his latest film, "After Earth", but back tracked a bit to discuss the real reason he turned down the role in "Django Unchained". He stated that the story was brilliant, but wasn't for him. The role of a freed slaved turned bounty hunter went to actor Jamie Fox, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance. Without question, the last four years have been difficult ones for R&B star Chris Brown. However, the 23-year-old has pushed through all the drama and remained one of R&B's top performers. He's preparing the release of his next album, "X", which should be as successful as previous efforts. Let' s hope he can stay on track. It was a West Coast hip hop fans dream as legendary artists as well as newcomers gathered to perform at the first annual West Coast Festival. E40, DJ Quik, Mack 10, Warren G and many others were included in the line up. The stars talked about what the event meant to them. Mack 10 said although the west coast may not enjoy it's 90's success, it's still a dynasty. DJ Quik said the event showed unity among all who attended and everyone should embrace it. Jamie Adler made the event possible. Mediatakeout.com is at it again. This time the web site is reporting that singer Brandy uses laser hair treatments. The singer has a new album in stores and will appear in the upcoming Tyler Perry film "Temptation". She's made no comment on the matter. On DVD: "Lincoln", "Killing Them Softly", "Parental Guidance" and "The Sandlot". On the tube: "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Splash" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!
