Tuesday Tales

Fans better get their Free Gucci Mane t-shirts ready. The Atlanta rapper has been sentenced to six months in jail for probation violation stemming from an arrest for marijuana and gun possession. In addition, he was hit with a disorderly conduct charge as well. He has waged war against former associate Waka Flocka Flame and took to Twitter where he posted several rants denouncing all of  his industry associates. He later took to the social networking site where he pinned his various outburst on a decade-long addiction to codeine. He has yet to comment on this latest development. What's really going on between rapper Drake and singer Rihanna? The singer recently posted a picture of Drake's album cover then later posted lyrics to a track on the album. Drake reportedly told Ellen DeGeneres that Rihanna's a good girl and the two are friends. Rihanna hasn't commented on the matter. Celebrity web site mediatakeout.com is reporting that the reason for singer BeyoncĂ©'s bulge is that she's expecting her second child. Neither the singer nor her representatives have commented. Singer Miley Cyrus says when she heard the rumor that she's expecting a child with rapper Juicy J she laughed. She added that if she and the rap star did have a child together she'd name the child Juicy J. Jr. Singer Mary J. Blige has responded to a lawsuit by a concert promoter by saying not only will she not return the advance she was paid for her appearance; she will not return her performance fee because accommodations were not provided for her and her people. The concert promoter hasn't commented on the matter. More Drake news. The Young Money MC has been named national ambassador to the Toronto Raptors, a source told the Toronto Sun ahead of an official-made announcement. Similar to what rapper Jay Z did with the Brooklyn Nets, Drizzy will aid in the teams marketing and rebranding efforts. He'll also design a clothing line in conjunction with the team's 20th anniversary and the 2014-2015 season. Drake will get an office next to CEO Tim Leiweke. An executive position has given Drake more to be proud of in addition to the release of the album "Nothing Was The Same". The album is paced to become the second biggest of the year with 675,000-725,000 copies sold in one week, trampling debut totals of his last two projects, "Thank Me Later" and "Take Care". On the tube: "Dads" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.E.I.L.D.S." on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!

Rapper Kanye West had yet another run in with photographers as he and girlfriend Kim Kardashian left his home to catch a plane to Paris. The BET Hip Hop Awards aired over the weekend and legendary female rapper MC Lyte was honored for her contributions to the music and culture. 2 Chainz, Drake and others notables attended the ceremony. Next year's ceremony is sure to be as exciting as this year's. The son of former Rocka Fella Records honcho Damon Dash was arrested in New York City for allegedly assaulting and strangling his girlfriend, according to the New York Post. Damon "Boogie" Dash Jr., 22, was charged with misdemeanor assault and strangulation after a Sep. 22 altercation at his apartment where he reportedly chocked a woman over sex, a source told the Post. Dash, who works as a DJ and producer and also co-founded a bakery company, has one previous arrest, but the details have been sealed. The elder Dash has had his own share of legal issues. Friday Facts

Rapper Kanye West went on a Twitter rant against late night host Jimmy Kimmel for spoofing his recent interview with BBC's Radio One, in which he referred to himself as "the number one rock star on the planet". During his tirade, West went on to say that Kimmel was out of line for trying to spoof what was the first piece of honest media in years. He went on to insult Kimmel's face and call him a "manipulative media mutherf*****". Kimmel didn't respond immediately to West's comments but did address them on his show Thursday night. He revealed that he received an angry phone call from West demanding a public apology for the spoof. He then responded to West's tweets line by line and concluded by joking, "finally, I'm in a rap feud". Miley Cyrus isn't the only pop star turned rap star. Teen sensation Justin Bieber has reportedly collaborated with rapper Juicy J. on  a track. On work on when it will be released. Rapper/actor DMX recently sat down with venerable television  host Dr. Phil for on hour-long interview which aired yesterday. The rapper discussed several topics including his recent arrests, his financial woes and why he wouldn't change a thing. The rapper addressed his 11 children, ( his fiancee is pregnant with number 12), by saying that no matter what others may think he is a devoted father. He explained his hard times are part of a vicious cycle. Financial woes aren't his only worries, however. Several arrests in the past six months have shed light on his substance abuse problems, but the Ruff Ryder insists he's back on the right track. When Oprah's former go-to doc asked him about his recent behavior, he insists he regrets nothing. In theaters this weekend: "Baggage Claim", "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2", ""Don Jon" and "Rush". Thursday Dish

Afeni Shakur, mother of the late Tupac Shakur, is suing production company Entertainment One. The company worked on a Tupac album in 2007 but no royalties have been paid. No word on a settlement as yet. As mentioned previously, singer Rihanna and singer/rapper Teyana Taylor have gotten into a Twitter beef. Taylor now says that Rihanna is a cyber bully. From the looks of things Taylor has done some bullying of her own by posting a picture of Rihanna taken after the Chris Brown assault. Hopefully, the nonsense will end soon. Singer Robin Thicke's  hit single "Blurred Lines" has topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop charts for ten weeks and shows no signs of slowing down.  Only time will tell. Rapper Coolio has scored a legal victory. An assault charge leveled against him has been thrown out by a Nevada judge after prosecutors were unable to corroborate the victim's story. In April, Anabella Chatman told authorities that Coolio pushed then punched her during an argument over his bringing another woman to their home. She also accused him of hitting her with his car before fleeing the scene. After being arrested for the altercation, Coolio claimed Chatman attacked him telling Rumorfix.com, "I never laid hands on her. She jumped on me and started scratching my face, which caused me to fall to my knees". Since Chatman changed her story, prosecutors weren't able to prove her case beyond a reasonable doubt. Coolio is touring overseas and hasn't responded to the legal victory. Singer K. Michelle can't escape the rumor mill, it seems. First, celebrity web site TMZ reported that the IRS slapped the star with a $52,000 tax lien, claiming she didn't pay her taxes for 2008 and 2009 when she owed $4, 704.63 respectively. The former star of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" took to Instagram to let her fans, followers and detractor know that everything is under control. Shortly after that matter was settled, Mediatakeout.com reported that it believes the singer is pregnant. On the tube: "The X Factor" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. on ABC" and "Parks and Recreation" on NBC. Happy Thursday!

Wednesday Roundup

A Twitter beef has begun between singer Rihanna and G.O.O.D. Music artist Teyana Taylor. It began when Taylor posted a Instagram video of herself singing Anita Baker's "Caught Up In The Rapture". Rihanna then posted to the same social media site a picture of her hairstylist Yuesf in what has become  a signature look for Taylor singing the same song. Taylor, of course, responded via Twitter saying "Don't play wit me@rihanna f*** all this industry s***YOU and I know each other very well. Throwing subs 4 wat?? U got my #, don't show off". Rihanna's fans have of course, gotten in on the beef as well. Taylor quickly responded by saying that the group could bully anyone else but it wouldn't work with her. In the beginning, Rihanna's timeline was out of the direct light. Rihanna refused to mention Taylor until she posted a picture comparing her net worth with the singer's income. Taylor responded with a  bit of venomous humor of her own. "90 million dollars & 90 million n*****diving in that s*** box". Taylor tweeted after changing the photo on her Twitter page to feature a photoshopped image of herself in a boxing ring with Rihanna. She used the same photo of Rihanna following her 2009 assault at the hands of Chris Brown. Rapper Kanye West says that rappers are the new rock stars and that he's the biggest star in the world. He added that he's surpassed the level of stardom Michael Jackson reached. Once again hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs topped Forbes magazine's cash kings list with an estimated worth of $50 million. Much of this is owed to his Bad Boy Records, Sean John clothing line, Blue Fame marketing agency and a profitable stake in Ciroc Vodka, which he also promotes. He was followed by rapper Jay /Z with $43 million and rapper/producer Dr. Dre with $40 million. Rapper Nicki Minaj was the only female artist to make the list with an estimated worth of $29 million. On the tube: "The X Factor" on Fox, "Survivor" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Revolution" on NBC. Happy hump day!

Rapper Trina suffered a health scare recently. The former first lady of Slip-N-Slide Records passed out in a Florida airport. She was taken to a hospital and treated for dehydration and overexertion. She Instagrammed a photo of herself in a hospital bed with a caption thanking fans for their concern and prayers. Along with music, she's appeared on Tameka "Tiny" Cottle's VH1 talk show along with Claudia Jordon and former "Basketball Wives" star Tami Roman. Monday Memo

The film "Insidious: Chapter 2" topped the weekend box office, earning over $14 million. "The Family", "Instruction Not Included" and "Battle Of The Year" round out the top five films of the week. Rapper Gucci Mane took to social networking site Twitter to apologize for his recent erratic behavior. He's had a falling out with protege Waka Flocka Flame and claimed to have slept with rapper Nicki Minaj and several other female celebrities. His reason for the behavior is he's addicted to lean. At any rate, here's hoping he gets the help he needs. Rapper Drake has pushed back his upcoming tour. No word on  a start date as yet. In other Drake news, he did confirm a Wu Tang Clan collaboration. During an interview with Elliott Wilson, he would only say that the track will be released soon. He added that there are no issues between he and rapper Kendrick Lamar after to perceived "Control" diss. This despite speculation that his "The Language" from the forthcoming "Nothing Was The Same" addresses Lamar. Drake said it's all love. A photo Instagrammed by singer Rihanna has lead to two arrests in Thailand. Two men, ages 16 and 20 were arrested after the star posted a picture of herself with a slow loris while visiting for her Diamonds world tour. It appears the authorities want to crack down on how the nation is presented. The slow loris, a furry, big-eyed primate, is an endangered species. Local animal welfare groups have been working to keep such protected primates in the wild. Rihanna was on vacation in Thailand before moving on to her next performance date in Singapore. Her IG page has over 9 million followers and her Twitter has 31  million. Television's biggest night took place last night. A who's who of Hollywood attended the 2013 Emmy Awards.
