It was Soul/R&B night on last night's "American Idol" with singer Usher mentoring the contestants. By far the best performance of the evening came from Big Mike. Tonight viewers will learn who goes home. Fans of the show "Glee" and Lady Gaga will be pleased to learn that the cast will be tackling two of the pop star's tunes on an upcoming episode that will air April 13. The two numbers the cast will perform will be "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face". They will even dawn Gage like costums for the numbers. Singer Erykah Badu may face indecent exposure charges after releasing the clip for her single "Window Seat". The singer is shown getting out of a parked car and stripping totally nude while taking a walk through Delaney Plaza, the place where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. If a witness comes forward and confirms the singer was indeed nude, she could face up to one year in jail and a 4,000 fine. Actor Wesley Snipes seems in rare form in his new film "Brooklyn's Finest". You'll recall the actor has had several personal problems, among them IRS tax troubles. It's great to have him back. Flesh And Bone of the group Bone Thugs And Harmony was arrested after a concert recently on what was actually an old charge. The rapper pistol whipped his own mother a while back. No word on how long the rapper's sentence was. Prince reportedly owes 3 million dollars to a concert promoter for backing out of a scheduled appearance in Dublin Ireland two years ago. According to court documents released by the judge in the case, the singer dropped out of the show for unspecified reasons and now owes 3 million to the promoters. The two sides reached a mutual agreement in February, but the singer has yet to pay a cent. Representatives for Prince have not commented on the matter. Week two of "Dancing With The Stars" aired last night and it looks like Niecy Nash may be the odds on crowd favorite. Tonight we learn who goes home. Be sure to tune in to "American Idol" as well. It looks like actor/writer/producer Tyler Perry may have yet another hit on his hands with "Why Did I Get Married Too", to be released this Friday. "How To Train Your Dragon" slayed the competition at the box office over the weekend taking in over 3 million dollars and becoming the number one film. "Alice In Wonderland", "Hot Tub Time Machine", "The Bounty Hunter" and "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid" round out the top films of the week. Singer Beyonce recently disspelled rumors that she's with child. No word on where or how the rumor started. A judge was apparently not very impressed by singer Keyshia Cole when the singer appeared before him for being suied for backing out of a appearance, despite being paid up front for the gig. It appeared that the singer didn't want to read documents she presented and that caused the judge in question to call the singer illiterate. You'll recall the singer just gave birth to a baby boy. The singer has reportedly been dating Cleveland Cavilers star Daniel Gibson for some time. Actress Dakota Fanning is evolving by appearing in a film based on the memoir of Cherri Currie, lead singer of 70's all female band The Runaways. The film will be released on April 9. After much speculaton, it looks like R&B crooner Lloyd won't be signing with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment after all. The singer has signed a deal with Interscope Records siting the working relationship he has with label head Jimmy Iovine and producer Polo Da Don. Young Money is exclusive to Universal/Motown Records where the singer recorded his first two albums. He is featured on "Bedrock" the first single from the Young Money debut, "We Are Young Mondy". In more music news, Usher says he is not feeling any pressure to top "Confessions". He is gearing up for the release of his next cd, "Raymond Vs Raymond" which will be in stores on March 30. Paige Miles, the latest "American Idol" cast off was suffering from laryngitis on the night she was booted from the show. It will be interesting to see what is in store for viewers next week. Actress Sandra Bullock has cancelled a appearance on the "Kids Choice Awards" show in light of the recent scandal involving her husband Jesse James. Paige Miles was booted from "American Idol" last night as her upbeat personality wasn't enough to overcome inconsistancy and poor song choice. Tim Urban joined her in the bottom three last week and stated that he'd do his rendition of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" again if he had to. In other televison news, it's been confirmed that actress Katherine Heigl has asked to be let out of her contract on the hit show "Grey's Anatomy" after six seasons. The actress stated that she wants to spend more time with her newly adopted daughter. She is married to singer/songwriter Josh Kelley. Singer Mariah Carey has reportedly ditched plans to release a remix album due to internet leaks. The singer's management says they are now looking at possibly a new studio album or a Christmas album. No final decison has been made yet. Rapper The Game, who recently had his Gmail account hacked, is gearing up for the release of his fourth album, "The Red Album". The disc is set for a April 20 release and will feature collobrations with Nicki Minaj, Jadakiss, Jim Jones, Chris Brown and others. Boys To Men will perform at UNCIEF's Night For Haiti at Boston's House Of Blues tonight. The show will raise funds for earthquake victims in the country. A dna test confirmed he is the father of the child in question. Wife Tina knowles filed for divorce some time ago, but the divorce is not final as of yet. Singer Janet Jackon attended the premier of Tyler Perry's latest film, "Why Did I Get Married Too" in New York and looked fabulous as always. Be sure to see the film when it hit theaters on April 2. Despite rumors to the contrary, the child actor/comedian Chris Rock has been seen carrying is a foster child currently living with he and his family while the grandmother recovers from surgery. Be sure to check out the new VH1 reality series "Basketball Wives" when the show airs in April. The show is executive produced by Shaunie O'neal, ex-wife of NBA star Shaquille O'neal and takes a behind the scenes look at the lives of the wives, ex-wives and girlfriends of some of the most promient players in the NBA. "Dancing With The Stars" made it's premiere last night and it appears that Niecy Nash may be a top contender. We'll see what happens. "American Idol" begins another week of competition and it will be interesting to see how this week's performances pan out. Rapper T.I.'s clothing line Akoo is being sued for copyright infringment by Akoo International, a self promclaimed social music network. The company claims they discovered the name before the rapper did. There has been no word on how much the company is suing the rapper for. "Alice In Wonderland" has once again topped the weekend box office raking in over 34 million dollars. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", "The Bounty Hunter", "Repo Men" and "She's Out Of My League" round out the top five films of the week. Fans of the "Wendy Williams Show" will be happy to know that the show has been renewed through 2012. Expect more celebrity news, interviews and more from the former New York City radio jock. Forget about the rumors swirling about singer Whitney Houston since her recent concert tour began. The singer is not in rehab and does not plan to go, according to her attorney. Rumor has it that rapper Lil Wayne got into a scuffle with another inmate and the scuffle was broken up by other inmates. The problem with the story is, words but no blows were exchanged. Be sure to tune into the season premiere of "Dancing With The Stars" tonight. This season promises to be an exciting one. An ex-boyfriend of singer Lady Gaga is suing her claiming that he created her image. No comment from the singer as of yet. Rapper Snoop Dogg has suggested that the possibility of working with producer Dr Dre again is not far fetched at all. He told bet.com that the possibility of working with the producer again is 90%. The other 10% is about availablity with Dr Dre. He realizes that he's good but great when working with the producer. I have to say I do agree that Snoop Dogg is at his best when paired with Dr Dre more than any other producer. The two have made classics together and it would be wonderful to see them together again.Congradualtions to Dr Phil and his wife are in order. They became the grandparents of a granddaughter last night. Avery Elizabeth McGraw arrived at 11:33 last night and weighed 6 lbs and 6 oz. Everyone is doing well and overjoyed with the arrival of the new family member. Rapper Nicki Minaj will be pulling out the big guns for her first video shoot. She has inlisted the assistance of Hype Williams and Amber Rose for the video for her official first single, "Massive Attack". The single won't hit urban radio outlets until next week, but the rapper seems ready to launch an attack on the music industry. Two more contestants were given the boot on last night's "American Idol" and it appears the focus will shift from the contestants to guest stars; good and bad. The ninth season is really turning out some surprises no one expected. Singer Beyonce's collobration with Lady Gaga, "Video Phone", which has become a huge hit, has also become a huge video hit as well. It was confirmed that the video is the most played on cable outlets. The two also collobrated on "Telephone" for Lady Gaga's release, and the video for the single has been getting mixed reviews, to say the least. We'll see what happens with that. If you haven't already, be sure to pick up the dvd concert film, "T.A.M.I Show". It features performances by James Brown, The Surpremes, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones and others durning rock's 1964 glory period. Fans are in for a treat, as the film has been ditigally remastered. Young fans will get a history lesson. Actress Lisa Raye will soon have a reality series on VH1 called "Lisa Raye: The Real McCoy. The weeks top contestants took the stage on Fox's "American Idol" last night to perform songs by the Rolling Stones, with mixed results. Some contestants risk seeing the idol hopes turned to dust as the viewers will vote tonight. Former WWE superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, will return to his action hero roots in a film called "Faster". No word on when the film will be released. Rapper DMX may get a get out of jail free pass. Dr Drew of the show "Celebrity Rehab" wants the troubled rapper on the show for treatment. No word on when of if the star will appear on the show. A warrant was issued for rapper Lil Wayne's arrest in the gun possession case in Arizona some time ago. The only problem is, the rapper is in Rikers Island at the moment. Don't forget to tune into ABC's "Lost" as this is the final season for the former hit. Things are really beginning to heat up and it's anyone's guest what will happen next. This is the week that the top dozen male and female performers perform for viewer votes on Fox's "American Idol" and it's anyone's guest who will be sent packing this week. It's been a mixed bag of steller as well as medicore performances on the show this season. Enough to keep one guessing what will happen next, if anything. Congradulations to singer Keyshia Cole. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Michael Jackson may be gone, but he's still making waves in the music industry. The Jackson estate has reportedly signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment worth a staggering 250 million dollars over a seven year period. Singer Kelis is returning to the industry after an absence. She has signed with Blackeyed Peas frontman Will Iam's record label. No word on when a project will be released. Check out singer Jill Scott on the cover of the latest issue of Jet magazine. She discusses motherhood, her new film role and her life after divorce. Rumor has it that R&B group 112 may reunite for a cd to be released this year. It will be great if it happens. A portion of a sex tape featuring rapper Young Berg and his ex-girlfriend has reportedly been leaked to the internet, with the full tape to be released soon. There's been no confirmation or denial regarding whether the tape exists. Singer Beyonce recently confirmed that she and husband Jay Z do have a prenuptial agreement between them. Be sure to tune into "American Idol" tomorrow on Fox. The competiiton continues, with the top 12 male and female contestants performing for viewer votes. Sad news out of Hollywood. Actor Peter Graves, best known for his role as Jim Phelps, leader of a gang of special agents who battled evil conspirators on the 1970's series "Mission Impossible" died yesterday of an apparent heart atttack outside his home in Los Angeles. He would have turned 84 this week. The actor returned home from brunch with his wife and children and collasped before making it into the house. His daughter administered CPR, but was unable to revive him. The family doctor visisted the home and said he believed he had a heart attack. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. The top 12 male and female contestants were decided on last night's "American Idol" and the competition is heating up with Michael Lynch, in my opinion, being one of the top contenders to watch. The Source features Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface on the cover. The trio discusses the current project their working on and the state of the industry today. XXL magazine features several new hip hop stars in the making. They all discuss the state of hip hop today and carving out their own niche in the industry. Funeral arrangements for actor Cory Haim have been announced. The actor will be layed to rest in his hometown of Toranto after a memorial service in Los Angeles. The new season of "Dancing With The Stars" will premiere this month, as reported previously. The season premiere will be March 22 on ABC. Among the stars who will participate are: Kate Gosselin, Erin Andrews, Cheryl Burke and Chad Johnson. It should be another exciting season. The top male contestants performed on last night's "American Idol" and tonight viewers will get the opportunity to vote for their favorites. Michael Lynch and Tim Urban turned up the heat last night and we'll just have to wait and see if they stay or go. After many rumors and much speculation, NBC has confirmed that actress Betty White will host "Saturday Night Live" on May 8. The Mother's Day show, which will reunite several female cast members, all of whom are moms, should be very interesting to watch. Rapper T.I. recently released a street offering called "I'm Back" to the masses. He held a conference call with several DJ's thanking them all for their support while he did his bid. While it's not an official first single, a cd is due on August 24. It's great to have Tip back. Rapper DMX was arrested for probation violation. Although the specifics of the recent arrest are unclear, the rapper's legal representative says that he has been battling addiction for some time and needs treatment. The top female contestants performed for votes on last night's "American Idol" and tonight the top male contestants will get their turn. Thursday, viewers will vote to decide who goes home. Sad news out of Hollywood. Actor Corey Haim has died. He was 38. The actor first came to fame in the 1984 film "Firstborn" and then went on to star in several other films such as, "License To Drive" , "Lucas" and "Dream A Little Dream". He battled substance abuse problems and health issues for some time. The actor died at the home he shared with his mother Judy. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office stated that the actor had gotten out of bed, complained of feeling week and dropped to his kness. His mother found him and called parametics. The parametics responded and transported the actor to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 am. He had suffered with flu like symptoms for some time. The cause of death is not known at this time. He had planned a comeback for 2008, which never materialized. A autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of dealth. "Alice In Wonderland" topped the weekend box office grossing over 116 million dollars, making it the highest opening weekend in history. "Brooklyn's Finest", "Shutter Island", "Cop Out" and "Avatar" round out the top films of the week. Hollywood's finest turned out for the 82nd annual Academy Awards. Among the winners were, Sandra Bullock, Best Actress for "The Blind Side", Jeff Bridges, Best Actor , "Crazy Heart",Monique Best Supporting Actress , "Prescious", Christoph Waltz, Best Supporting Actor "Inglourious Basterds". Best Picture went to "The Hurt Locker". It also won for Best Director. It was the first time a female director had ever been honored with the award. The rehabilitation center where singer Beyonce researched her role of Etta James in the film "Cadillac Records" has opened a comsitology school. The funding was provided by the star, who donated her entire salary from the film to the organization. Rapper Lil Wayne is scheduled to be sentenced for his gun and drug possession charge today. Sad news out of the R&B world. Ron Banks of the legendary R&B group the Dramatics died of a heart attack at Detroit's Sinai Hospital. He was 58. He was a founding member of the group which was formed in Detroit in 1962. The group played various talent shows and clubs before eventually signing with Stax/Volt Records. They scored with such hits as "What You See Is What You Get", "In The Rain' and "Get Up And Get Down". No details on funeral information is available at press time. Rumor has it that former "American Idol" contestant Fantashia Barrino is pregnant, but the rumor has not been confirmed or denied. The female contestants took the stage on last night's "American Idol" after a health scare for one. The evening went from fabulous for some to just plain horrible for others. Tonight viewers will decide who stays and who goes home. Rapper Lil Wayne may get at least five more days of freedom. After a fire at a Lower Manhattan courthouse postponed the rapper's sentencing, his legal reps are now saying that he may not be sentenced until next week. His sentence for a gulity plea to a gun possession charge was to start originally on February 9, but was delayed due to last minute and extensive dental work and was granted an extension to get the work completed. The rapper is slated to serve a 8 to 10 month sentence in Rikers Island NYC. In more music news, rapper Guru of Gang Star is recovering from successful heart surgery after suffering a heart attack this past weekend. The rapper says he is doing well and appreciates all the well wishes. Just three more days until the Academy Awards and co-hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin have been rehearsing for the upcoming show, which is sure to be spactacular. Fox's "American Idol" changed it's schedule last night due to a female contestants illness. The top ten males took the stage last night, with mixed results. After viewing the show last night, I have to say it looks like Big Mike may be a contender for the grand prize. Singer Justin Timberlake and actress Cameron Diaz are teaming up for a comedy about a love triangle. Filming of the comedy will start in Los Angeles this month. The manager of actor Burt Reynolds says the actor has been released from a Florida hospital after a planned heart bypass operation. The manager also stated that Reynolds went into the hospital on Monday and was released on Tuesday. He is 74. It's just a few days until the Academy Awards and it's anyone's guest who the big winners will be. The show will be co-hosted by Alex Baldwin and Steve Martin. As reported previously, there are more nominees in the best picture category than in years past. Usher's next cd has been delayed yet again, and in fact, it looks like it may never be released. Be sure to tune in to Fox's "American Idol" as the week's top contestants perform for viewer votes. Jay Leno won the late night battle, with the ratings for his first night back on "The Tonight Show" scoring a 4.5 rating/14 share in 56 metered markets while David Letterman earned 3.0/8, according to NBC. The cast for the new season of "Dancing With The Stars" was announced today and Chad Johnson and Kate Gosslin will be among the cast members. The show will air on March 27. Rapper Nas is in hot water with the IRS. The rapper reportedly owes the agency a whopping $3,365,671.26 in back taxes. This is more than the orginal amount the agency had placed a lien on the rapper for. He has not commented on his financial troubles. Rapper T.I is in the middle of a controversy as well. This matter is regarding a billboard for his clothing line Akoo. The image, which is planted in the middle of Newark NJ's busiest intersection shows a young woman kneeling in front of a gentleman with a unzipped pair of jeans. The film "Shutter Island" remained at number one for a second straight week raking in 22.2 million raising it's ten day total to 75.1 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. "Cop Out", "The Crazies", "Avatar" and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" round out the top films of the week. Rumor has it rapper 50 Cent is unhappy with his current label, Interscope, and may be trying to work out a deal to leave. We'll see what happens with that. The rapper has been with the label for some time. Tyler Perry picked up several awards at Friday's NAACP Image Awards, which aired on Fox. The film "Prescious" was also a big winner, winning for Best Picture and Outstanding Actress, among others. Congradulations to singer/songwriter/producer The Dream and singer Christina Milan. The two became the parents of a baby girl. All are doing well. Be sure to tune into Fox's "American Idol". It will be another round of performances, followed by viewer votes. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes this time around. On the tube: "House" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Batchlor: On The Wings Of Love" on ABC and "Chuck" on NBC.
