Monday Memo
The film "The Social Network" topped the weekend box office, once again, earning over $15 million dollars. "Life As We Know It", "Secretariat", "Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of G'Hoole" and "My Soul To Take" round out the top five films of the week. It appears that rapper T.I will be heading back to prison in connection with his drug arrest in Los Angeles. The Atlanta rapper's parole officer suggested a six to eighteen month sentence, while the procecutor recommended a stiffer sentence. Let's hope that he can get his life back on track and back to doing what he does best soon. Rapper Eminem made a rare televison appearance on CBS's "60 Minutes" last night where he discussed his humble beginnings, his succes, his bout with drug abuse and returning to the spotlight. The rapper looked fit, trim and healthy and has made an incredible comeback. The filming of the remake of the 80's classic "Footlose" has finally begun with a new cast and director. The film will have a similar plot, with a few differences. While there's been no word on when it will be released, it's sure to be a hit with movie goers. On a sad note, the world of R&B has lost one its pioneers. Singer Solomon Burke died while on a plane at Amsterdam's Schiophol airport, Sky News said. He was 70. He was scheduled to perform Tuesday in Amsterdam. A member of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, he is best known for the hit "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love". He began his career at the age of 14 with "Christmas Presents From Heaven". He fathered 21 children and has several grandchildren. He will be missed and his legacy will live on. On the tube: "House" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC and "Chuck" on NBC. Happy Monday!
