Another day, another hip hop artist arrested. Jim Jones was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was charged with traffic violation and given a ticket to appear in court. Rihanna, who appears on the cover of the latest issue of Vouge, discussed lifting the restraining order on ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. She stated she doesn't want to make things difficult for Brown professionally. In more Rihanna news, the star took to Twitter to announce that her April 16 show had been sold out. The only problem was, it wasn't true. According to the venue's website, the arena will only be half full. Rapper Rick Ross continues to make power moves in the rap game. He's recently signed a new female singer to his Maybach Music label. No word on when a project for the singer will be released. Another round of performances concluded on last night's "American Idol". Tonight the results of viewer votes will be revealed. It's turned into quite an exciting season for the Fox show, and things can only get better from here. Be sure to catch the eight hour miniseries "The Kennedys" Sunday on Reelz. Matthew Knowles, father of singer Beyonce Knowles, released a statement regarding ending the business relationship with his daughter. He says the decision was mutual, and he's focusing on the gospel artists on his label. He also stated that business is business and family is family. Rumors have now begun to circulate that Beyonce may sign with hubby Jay Z's Rock Nation, but nothing's been confirmed. Chris Brown appeared on "Dancing With The Stars" last night, and treated fans to a exciting performance. In other "Dancing With The Stars" news, host Tom Bergeron reportedly told producers that he thought it would be best not to interview Brown on the show. Former contestant Cheryl Burke commented that as a domestic violence survivor she didn't agree with the decision to invite Brown to perform on the show. Actor Charlie Sheen reportedly tweeted a picture of himself and rapper Snoop Dogg. The two have been working on music for Sheen's upcoming tour. No word on when the music will be released. Rapper Lil Wayne has not been shy about revealing his goals. One goal the New Orleans MC has is to make $50 million dollars after taxes. He may be well on his way. Congratulations to Chris Brown are in order. His new CD "F.A.M.E." entered the Billboard charts at number one after selling 257,000 copies. Jennifer Hudson entered the number two slot selling 167,000 copies of her latest "I Remember Me". If you've listened to any of rapper Waka Flaka Flame's music and thought that the Atlanta rapper had no lyrics, don't worry about offending him. He recently told New York magazine that he didn't get into rap to be a lyrical genius. He went on the say there's a difference between someone who has lyrics and someone who can make hit singles. He can make hit singles. Nick Cannon, who has been called corny by some, has announced that he will release a mixtape. The tape will include songs with Cannon bragging about his money and his women. He wants to let others who may have been called corny as well know it's okay to be different.The contestants take the stage on Fox's "American Idol" tonight. New details are emerging in the shooting death of DJ Megatron. He suffered a gun shot wound to the chest. Authorities have ruled out robbery as a motive in the case as his wallet and cell phone were found on him. A You Tube video has reportedly surfaced accusing the DJ of owing money. No suspects have been arrested at press time. Singer Chris Brown just can't seem to catch a break. The star, who recently purchased a condo, has been having trouble with neighbors. They say he has become a nuisance due to loud parties and guest coming and going. He has received a warning from the condo association. There's been no comment from Brown's camp. Singer Beyonce has announced that she's severed business ties with her father/manager Matthew Knowles and he will no longer be managing her career. She was quoted as saying he will be her dad for life and she loves him. No word on what management firm she will sign with. Singer Angie Stone was arrested yesterday for speeding and driving with a suspended license. The singer paid a fine and was released. West coast rap icon Ice Cube has inked a deal to be spokesperson for Coors Light beer. He will appear in several ads for the brew. Rapper Turk, former member of The Hot Boys, is making plans for life after prison. According to Allhiphop.com, he will launch his own music label when he's released from prison. He's currently completing a 10-year sentence for shooting a S.W.A.T. officer during an apartment raid in 2004. Rumors regarding a Hot Boys reunion have ran rampid for some time, but only time will tell if the reunion comes to futation. Kanye West has reportedly become smitten with Teyana Taylor, a signee to his G.O.O.D. Music label. There's been no word on a romance between the two or when a project for Ms Taylor will be released. The contestants laced up their dancing shoes for last night's "Dancing With The Stars" and tonight the results will be revealed. Despite it's depiction of real life situations, NBC's "Parenthood" is currently struggling in it's time slot. The show has seen a jump in younger viewership, however. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules" ruled the weekend box office earning over $24 million dollars. "Sucker Punch", "Limitless", "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "Rango" round out the top five films of the week. Sad news out of New York City. DJ Megatron, known as the hype man on BET's "106 & Park", was shot to death over the weekend. His manager stated that he was shot while on the way to a store near his home. No suspects have been found. Rapper Rick Ross was arrested for marijuana possession in Louisiana over the weekend. Hotel officials stated they smelled marijuana. When they went to investigate with authorities, they discovered a gram of marijuana in plain view. No word on a trial date. Star Jones appeared on the "Wendy Williams Show" to promote her new book and reportedly took a shot at "Apprentice" co-star NeNe Leakes. The two have been sparring with one another for some time now. Rapper Foxy Brown and morning show host Tom Joyner are not likely to remain friends after Brown was reportedly kicked off Joyner's Fantastic Voyage cruise. Brown took to twitter to let it be known how she felt about the matter. No word from Joyner. Lisa Raye will return to TV One with her reality show "The Real McCoy" on April 7. Another reality show hitting air waves soon will be "Braxton Family Values", which will star singer Toni Braxton and her four younger sisters. The competition continues on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars". The contestants are all over their jitters now that the season is underway. Twenty-five years on the air, and now it's time to wrap it up. Harpo Productions confirmed that the final episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will air May 25. Winfrey took to twitter to make the announcement. The show has been in reruns, with new episodes to air beginning on April 7. There will be no rest for the weary after May 25, however. Ms Winfrey still has her own cable network, "The Oprah Winfrey Network" to run. Director Zach Snyder has confirmed that actress Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in the reboot of "Superman". She will join Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Henry Cavill in the Warner Bros. film. No word on a release date. Rapper Julez Santana, whose out on $125,000 bond after police found guns and drugs in his New Jersey recording studio, was pulled over by police while on the way to a album release party for Chris Brown. Although he was not arrested, he decided against attending the party. Singer Sade will collaborate with rapper Jay Z on a track for her new album, which will hit stores in May. It will be the first time the singer has worked with a hip hop artist. "American Idol" alum Jennifer Hudson performed on last night's show. The singer has a new CD in stores and a new film in the works as well. Star Jones will appear on the "Wendy Williams Show" today. There's been no word on whether Jones will trash fellow "Apprentice" cast member NeNe Leaks. Rumors have been swirling around the industry for some time that the two have not been getting along well on the set. Jones usually takes the high road. In more Wendy Williams news, the talk show host is being sued by a promoter for $25,000 claiming he paid her to host an event at a Atlantic City resort, but she didn't meet and greet any guest. There's been no word on a court date, or any comment from Williams. Rappers 50 Cent and Ja Rule have resumed their feud. The two have begun sparring with one another on Twitter and it remains to be seen how long it will last. Let's hope it doesn't last too long. An unidentified source claims to have heard singer Chris Brown call "Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts a b during his recent appearance on the morning show. Brown later apologized for his backstage tirade on BET's "106 & Park". He's scheduled to appear on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" as well. He's also expected to sell 300,000 copies of his latest CD. Only time will tell how successful it will be, however. Singer Ciera is now going into spin control after reportedly tweeting some disparaging remarks regarding singer Rihanna's recent cancelled tour dates. Ciera says the remarks were not in reference to Rihanna. Ray J is set to release his next CD "Radiation 2". After several label changes, the singer seems to have found the right label. Sad news out of Hollywood. Elizabeth Taylor, known for her beauty and multiple marriages, died of heart failure. She was 79. She began her career as child star and appeared in several films. She was married for a time to both Richard Burton and Eddie Fisher. She had health problems in recent years. She will be missed and her legacy will live on. Actress Lindsey Lohan will not accept a plead deal that would include jail time and opted to go to trial in her felony grand theft case, Los Angeles prosecutors confirmed. She's accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice CA store. A preliminary hearing in which testimony is heard and a judge decides if there's enough evidence for trial is set to begin April 22. The contestants took on the music of Motown on last night's "American Idol". Tonight, viewers will decided who goes home. Aaron Sorkin will guest star on tonight's episode of "30 Rock". Loretta Devine will return to "Grey's Anatomy" as Adele tonight as well. Actress Angela Bassett has a busy year ahead. She will appear in "Jumping The Broom" as the mother of a bride who marries down. She's also slated to appear is several other films as well. Singer Chris Brown, whose latest CD "F.A.M.E." hit stores yesterday, was reportedly left stemming after an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" didn't go as planned. He was asked several questions regarding ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which he graciously declined to answer. He allegedly smashed a window in his dressing room and stormed out without a shirt. ABC has been flooded with emails asking that the network cancel Brown's upcoming appearance on "Dancing With The Stars", but there's been no official word on whether the network has cancelled the appearance. Meanwhile, Rihanna, who cancelled several tour dates some time back due to illness, has cancelled more tour dates due to low ticket sales. Reportedly, sales are so low in areas like Boston, there isn't enough money to cover items like lighting. A producer who has worked on tracks for Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment is suing both claiming he's owned over $20 million dollars. There's been no word on a court date yet, however. Rapper Ja Rule has admitted to failing to pay over $300 million dollars in income to the IRS. He will reportedly face one year in jail and have to pay over $100,000 in fines. He will also appear in court for a weapons charge in June. Here's hoping that after the ordeal he'll bounce back and get back to doing what he does best. Rapper Nicki Minaj is considering playing the lead role in the film "Charge It To The Game", based on the book of the same name by Michele A. Fletcher. Ms Fletcher says Nicki could bring a new intensity to the character. She's also considering Keri Hilson, Eve and Evelyn Lozada. No official announcement has come from Nicki's camp regarding the film, however. With ratings down, the five major networks have plans to improve viewership. CBS has a sitcom starring Damon Wayans as a sports radio host and in drama the network has plans to premiere "Ringer", which will star Sarah Michelle Geller as a woman on the run from the mob. With "X Factor" and "Terra Nova" in the can, Fox has another possible hit with the show "Touch", which will return Kiefer Sutherland to the network as a father who discovers that his mute, autistic son can predict events. The network also has a hunted house show called "Lock & Key" and a father and son comedy "Tagged" in the works as well. Having spent several years as the ratings cellar dweller, NBC is sparking a renewed grab for attention. Among new programs hitting the network are "Wonder Woman" and "Shampoo". They also have the drama "Metro" in the works. ABC will return this fall with what has worked for the network previously, soapy, high-concept series aimed at it's core audience of middle-aged women. A remake of "Charlie's Angles" will join "Pan Am" and "Revenge". The CW has "Secret Circle" and "Awakening" in the can. Only time will tell which network will win the ratings war. Sad news from the world of music. Legendary bluesman Pinetop Perkins died of cardiac arrest at his home in Austin TX. He was 97. He began his career playing piano with Muddy Waters. He also performed with Sonny Boy Williamson and slide guitarist Robert Nighthawk. He also toured with rock pioneer Ike Turner in the 1950's. Perkins' skill came not from any formal training, but from a love for a musical form that arose from the South's plantation system. Perkins won a Grammy for best traditional blues album "Joined At The Hip: Pinetop Perkins And Willie "Big Eyes" Smith". That win made Perkins the oldest Grammy winner, edging out George Burns, who was 95 when he won the spoken category for "Gracie: A Love Story". His manager, Patricia Morgan, stated that funeral arrangements are pending in Austin and a gravesite service would be held near Clarksdale MS, where he wanted to be buried. Although it seems the state of female rappers in hip hop is on life support, Tampa born female rapper Dominique Young Unique is set to take the industry by storm. She has done several showcases and has released a mixtape "Glamorous Touch". She appears to have a bright future a head of her. Young Money artist Drake explained in an interview the tweet he posted regarding the recent passing of singer Nate Dogg. He used a line in the hit "21 Questions", which Nate Dogg performed with rapper 50 Cent. Drake stated he posted the tweet as soon as he heard the news and that it's sad we lost him. He also stated that Nate Dogg contributed some phenomenal music and it's important to remember what he's done. The cast of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" should all be over their jitters now that the first episode of the new season is in the can. The stars will return on March 28 for another round of competition before facing the season's first elimination the following day. Fox's "American Idol" returns for another round of competition tomorrow as well. Only time will tell how well the top contestants do. On DVD: "The Tourist" and "Yogi Bear". "Limitless" topped the weekend box office earning over $19 million dollars. "Rango", "Battle: Los Angeles", "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "Paul" round out the top five films of the week. A woman claims she was held against her will and raped at a home in CA back in January. Although he isn't a suspect, rapper Lil Wayne was at the home recording at the time of the assault. The victim was a caterer hired to feed party guest. Rapper/producer Wyclef Jean was reportedly shot in the hand in Portaprince Haiti while campaigning for a former political rival for president. Although some reports say the star was just cut on the hand, his representatives say he was indeed shot. Singer Rihanna is now dispelling rumors that she's now dating actor Colin Farrell. It's unclear where or how the rumor started. Rumor has it that "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada and fiance Chad Ochocinco will have their own reality series on E!. No word on a title or an air date for the show, however. Teen sensation Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" has now surpassed Michael Jackson's "This Is It" as the best selling concert film in history. Jackson still holds the record for sells overseas, however. Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has reached a new plateau with the release of her new CD, "I Remember Me" tomorrow. The star has emerged with a new strength, faith and purpose after enduring a family tragedy a few years back. She's an engaged mom, a spokesperson for Weight Watchers and will appear as Winnie Mandela in a biopic about the life of the wife of former South African president Nelson Mandela. Hudson says she's grateful for all that has happened to her in recent months. The Academy of County Music is promoting it's upcoming April 3 show by pairing You Tube acts with country stars. Sugarland is one of the acts participating in the online series. Other participants include Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Actress Robin Given will make a guest appearance on the NBC series "Chuck" as Chuck finds himself investigating a murder. ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" will begin it's season tonight. Adult entertainment company Vivid Entertainment is currently working with R&B singer Usher to stop the distribution of a sex tape of he and ex-wife Tameka Foster. The company has also released sex tapes featuring Kim Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson, among others. Rapper Lil Wayne announced that his next CD will be released on May 16. While there's been no mention of the tracks on the disk, it will reportedly include guest appearances from Young Money artists Drake and Nicki Minaj. In other Lil Wayne news, rapper Pusha T. announced that he and Wayne have ended their beef, which occurred some time back. There's been no announcement made regarding whether the two will work in the studio together. It appears to be singer/actress Jennifer Lopez' time again. She's a judge on Fox's "American Idol", has a new hit single "On The Floor", with a video that debuted on the March 3 episode of "Idol" and has garnered over 30 million You Tube views. Her single is No. 2 on Billboard's digital songs chart, and has sold over 609,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Sound Scan. Her seventh studio album, "Love" will hit stores in April. Throw in endorsement deals with Loreal and Gillette, and the spotlight seems to be shinning brightly on the singer/actress. In other "Idol" news, Karen Rodriguez was booted off the show last night, after a failed attempt at wooing the judges. It was reported here that The Blackeyed Peas performed Wednesday night. The group performed last night. Singer Bobby Brown will appear in a film about organized crime. There's been no announcement regarding a film title or release date, however. In other Bobby Brown news, he and ex-wife Whitney Houston's 18-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina, has denied reports that mom cancelled a birthday party for the teenager and took back a Lexus that was a birthday gift. Rumor has it that Missy Elliott and Kerri Hilson were involved in a romantic relationship years ago, and Hilson was not to pleased that Elliott broke the relationship off. As if he hasn't won enough awards already, rapper Eminem has surpassed Lady Gaga as the artist with the most Facebook followers. Way to go! Rapper/producer Dr Dre announced that he has collaborated on a track with Jay Z. The track should be a hot one. In more Lady Gaga news, the singer has been honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America with this year's style icon award. The nominees were announced by Diane von Furstenberg and Steven Kolb on Wednesday evening at the DVF studio. The other major prize to be awarded at the June 6 ceremony, will be given to Marc Jacobs, considered by some as the most influential designer working now. Rapper Gucci Mane appears on the current issue of The Source magazine. The rapper discusses his current success and what's next for the Atlanta native. The freshmen issue of XXL magazine is now on newsstands as well. As mentioned, the magazine picks ten unknowns it believes will bring much to the hip hop game. Actress Nicole Richie recently join husband Joel Madden in Chicago while Madden is touring with his band. She even brought the couple's children along. The couple did have some alone time before going on to the next tour stop. After finally settling a lawsuit, singer Jill Scott has inked a distribution deal and should have an album out soon. Sad news out of Long Beach CA. Nathaniel D. Hale, known professionally as Nate Dog, died yesterday. Although he had two strokes in 2007 and 2009, the cause of death has not been determined. He was 41. Representatives for singer Chris Brown have sent cease and diciest letters to those responsible for leaking a photo of the star smoking what appears to be marijuana. In other Chris Brown news, the singer has written and produced a video for members of his Breezy Nation Fan Club. Singer Rihanna is reportedly done with her father after he sold photos of her as a child to a tabloid magazine. The singer also appears on the cover of the latest issue of Vogue magazine. Amber Rose made some disparaging remarks about a former flame of her ex, Kanye West. So far, there has been no response from Mr West or the woman in question. Reality star Snookie has let it be known that she's none to pleased with remarks singer Ne-Yo made regarding her recent appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. There's been no response from Ne-Yo. The Black Eyed Peas will perform their latest single "Just Kickin It" on "American Idol" tonight. Photos of singer Chris Brown smoking what appears to be a a marijuana cigarette are now circulating. It's difficult to determine what the singer is holding in his hand in the photo, and what kind of fallout, if any, will occur as a result of the leaked photo. Photos of rapper Julez Santana are circulating as well. The Dip Set member appears to be smoking marijuana. Aretha Franklin reportedly did a Star Jones during an interview on "Access Hollywood". The singer refused to answer questions regarding whether she's had gastric bypass surgery. She doesn't believe it's necessary to ask about anyone's health. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame held it's 26th annual induction ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria last night, and it was a night that won't be forgotten. Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Darlene Love, Dr John and Tom Waits were all honored for their contributions to the music industry. With the release of "The Fighter" on DVD, actor Mark Wahlberg is considering a sequel to the Oscar nominated film. Nothing is definite as of yet, so stay tuned as this story develops. When the Chicago born rapper and his entourage tried to enter the venue where the event was held, they were asked to leave. The Los Angeles police department raided actor Charlie Sheen's home after receiving a call that the "Two And A Half Men" star threatened to harm himself with a gun. When police arrived, they discovered the actor having dinner with a lawyer and some friends. In other Charlie Sheen news, the actor is reportedly suing CBS for over $100 million dollars. Singer Bobby Brown announced on ABC's "TheView" that a New Edition reunion is a go. Although no announcement regarding tour dates has been made, a tour and album is expected. Although it's only been four months since the birth of his first child, Ne-Yo is reportedly going to be a father again. He will also appear in a film scheduled to hit theaters this weekend. Rapper/actress Queen Latifah is set to do a internet sports show for women. There's been no word on when the show will start, however. Fans who have been waiting for new music from rapper Bow Wow will have to continue waiting. The rapper has reportedly been dropped from Cash Money Records, and there's been no word on whether there's another deal in the works. Dawn from Diddy Dirty Money will release a solo album soon. No word on when the project will be released. Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has been preparing for her role as Winnie Mandela in an upcoming biopic by channeling her inner Winnie. The star reportedly spent a few days in jail to research for the part. Without a doubt, she will do a fantastic job. Actor Denzel Washington has donated funds to an organization supporting war veterans. It couldn't have come at a better time. Although the film "Rango" topped the weekend box office, it has come under fire for it's depictions of smoking. The film includes at least 60 instances of the characters smoking, according to Kori Titus, CEO of Breath California, a Sacramento based non-profit. The organization has a project called "Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down" in which trained young people and adults analyze films and each character seen smoking is counted as one instance, according to Titus. According to Titus, there are so many scenes where the characters in "Rango" are depicted smoking, that her organization may not be able to get an accurate count until the film comes out on DVD. A Paramount Pictures spokesperson stated that the images of smoking in the film are portrayed by supporting characters and not intended to be celebrated or emulated. There will be several guest stars on tonight's episode of "Raising Hope". J.K. Simmons, Skyler Stone and Mary Lynn Rajskub will all make cameo appearances on the Fox show. "Rango" topped the weekend box office earning over $38 million dollars at the box office. "The Adjustment Bureau", "Beastly", "Hall Pass" and "Gnomeo & Juliet" round out the top five films of the week. Kanye West and Suge Knight have finally settle a lawsuit from a few years back. Suge Knight initially sued West after reportedly being shot at a party West hosted for the Video Music Awards. Knight claimed that he lost a $130,000 earring and had to pay over $100,000 in medical expenses. In other Kanye West news, the rapper's video for his single "Monster" has been banned by MTV after special interest groups claimed that the clip glorifies violence against women. The internet was buzzing over the weekend after a picture of singer Chris Brown in the buff was posted on social networking site Twitter. Brown, of course, tweeted a response to the photograph being leaked. The Tyler Perry film "For Colored Girls" was a big winner at the "NAACP Image Awards". John Legend, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Willow Smith and Usher all picked up awards at the annual event held in Los Angeles. The show was hosted by Holly Robinson Peete and Wayne Brady. Singer Phil Collins confirmed that he is taking time off to recuperate from hand surgery, but definitely not retiring any time soon. The singer suffered nerve damage in his left hand and had surgery to correct the problem. Singer/songwriter/producer The Dream has formed a partnership to manufacture his own line of speakers. Kanye West may not be pleased to know that his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose and the mother of Wiz Khalifa have taken to referring to one another as mother and daughter on Twitter. Fans will recall rumors spread about Rose and Khalifa being involved. Kanye West later taunted the "Black And Yellow" rapper over social networking site Twitter. So far, there's been no response from Khalifa. In other Wiz Khalifa news, the rapper will perform at BET's Rip The Runway on March 21 at 10:00 pm. Fans will be happy to know that Dirty Money announced tour dates on BET's "106 & Park". Each show should be an exciting one for all who attend. Just when it appeared that Dr Dre's "Detox" would never see the light of day, a video for his single "I Need A Doctor" has been released. The song features his protege Eminem, and the two performed the song at the Grammys. With the release of the video, it looks like "Detox" will be released soon. It looks the hip hop community will have to make do with one less female rapper. On February 24, the New York State Court of Appeals upheld rapper Remy Ma's conviction, so she'll remain in jail for now. Remy Ma is serving a 8 year sentence at Rikers Island for a Manhattan shooting that left the rapper's then friend injured. A jury found the former Terror Squad femcee guilty of weapons and assault charges after she was charged with the shooting in 2007. The defense appealed the conviction on the grounds that the judge didn't properly inform jurors before they rendered their guilty verdict. The appeal was taken all the way to New York state's highest court, but was rejected. The rapper released her debut album "There's Something About Remy" a few years ago.
