Tuesday Tales

The film "The Hangover 2" topped the weekend box office, earning of $86 million dollars. "Kung Fu Panda 2", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", "Bridemaids" and "Thor" round out the top five films of the week. Sean Kingston is in critical but stable condition after crashing his jet ski into a wall. A rescuer held him until police arrived. Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the accident. A who's who of the music industry performed at Springfest in Miami. Chris Brown, Keri  Hilson, Lloyd and others entertained fans. There were also plenty of surprise guest at the event as well, with Drake being among those who made a guest appearance. "So You Think You Can Dance" will begin its new season soon, and it remains to be seen who will walk away with the grand prize. Last season was one with a few surprises here and there, with a few misses as well. Congratulations to rapper Kanye West are in order. The rappers latest single "All The Lights" has gone platinum. Fans will recall that there was some controversy regarding the video. A epolispy group claimed that the clip would cause those who watched to have seizures. At any rate, the single has gone on to burn up the charts. The crash involving singer Sean Kingston was not alcohol related, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The singer was jet sking with a female passenger when he struck a bridge. The female passenger was not injured. The singer is still in critical but stable condition. The new season of "Basketball Wives" has more drama in store for fans as a new cast member will make her debut. The show airs on VH1.  With summer fast approaching, studios are hard at work on films that they hope will get fans into theaters. Only time will tell which films will earn big box office dollars. It looks like things are looking up for rapper Snoop Dogg. He's completed his probation for an incident where he was arrested for having drugs and a gun in his vehicle. Here's hoping the legendary West coast MC stays on the straight and narrow. Singer and dancer Cheryl Cole has been booted from the television show "X Factor". According to TMZ, producers felt her accent would be too thick for American audiences to understand. She will be replaced by former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger. Cole will be booted back to the original UK version of the show. Scherzinger, who once served as a talent evaluator on the 2007 reality series "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll", will judge talent for "X Factor", which will begin in September. Legendary Parliment Funkadelic leader George Clinton has been hospitalized for a staph infection. The infection was discovered after a routine physical. Here's praying he gets well soon. According to the LA Times, cable station VH1 will revive it's music documentary series "Behind The Music". The show, which features musicians going under the microscope, will begin its new season on June 29 at 10 p.m. with a profile of rapper Missy Elliot. The rapper will discuss rumors about her weight, and being sexually molested as a child. Other artists scheduled to appear on the series this season include Ice Cube and Mary J. Blige. Rapper DMX, currently serving six months into a year-long sentence for violating his probation, will be released from prison on July 31, according to court documents pulled by HipHopDX. The former Ruff Ryders rapper returned to prison in December 2010 after being charged with drug possession while on probation from an arrest for aggravated assault. The troubled rapper has an extensive criminal record with 13 prison stints, and upon his last sentencing, a judge speculated that he may suffer from "an undiagnosed medical condition", possibly bi-polar disorder. He was temporarily admitted to a mental health facility. After his release at the end of July, he will be placed under supervised watch until August 12. Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs can now add yet another award to his list of honors. ASCAP, the non-profit organization that collects publishing fees on behalf of songwriters and composers, has announced that it will be giving it's Founders Award to the Bad Boy Entertainment impresario. He will receive the award at ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, to be held June 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The ratings for the farewell episode of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" were the highest in the shows history. Yet another milestone for the queen of media. Fox's "American Idol" ended its season with a bang, drawing 29.3 million viewers for its two-hour plus finale, which saw Scotty McCreery beat out Lauren Alaina. That's 21% higher than the Season 9 finale with 24.2 million. In theaters this weekend: "The Hangover 2" and "Kung Fu Panda 2". Rumor has it that rapper Snoop Dogg has been pursuing the wife of rapper Ice T. Although the rumor has not been confirmed, the two have reportedly been communicating via email. Ice T learned of the communication and ended it, but the two continued contact, and have even met face to face without Ice T. Stay tuned as this story develops. In other Snoop Dogg news, the California rap veteran stated in an interview that he'd like to assist with Dr Dre's upcoming album "Detox". He says there's a formula to making records and with the new disc from Dre, the formula is missing. There's still no release date for the highly anticipated album, however.  Congratulations to Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries are in order. After six months of dating, the two have gotten engaged. Humphries reportedly gave the reality star a 20 caret ring worth $20 million. There's been no announcement regarding a wedding date, however. As most fans know, yesterday marked the finale of the "Oprah Winfrey Show", the talk show queen ended her show by surrounding herself with studio audience members and friend Gayle King and beau Stedman Graham, among others. As most fans know, rapper Lil Boosie is currently serving a prison sentence for a murder charge. Now it appears that the rapper may serve more time. He has been charged with conspiracy  for attempting to smuggle codeine into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He and two associates tried to procure to pain killer via a source who turned out to be a agent for Louisiana State Police. It's unclear how much more time the rapper will have to serve. Young Money artist Drake has announced the second annual one day celebration named after his October's Very Own posse. The event, titled OVO Fest, will be held on July 31st at the Molson Amphitheater in the rapper's hometown Toronto. Set to join Drizzy on stage are Rick Ross and new R&B sensation The Weekend. Tickets go on sale June 3 via Ticketmaster. Drake assures that other top artists will join him for the event. Lauryn Hill and Nas will headline the upcoming Rock The Bells tour. The annual tour will kick off in San Bernadino CA and will also feature Erykah Badu, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep and Black Star. Tickets go on sale at the official website. After a season filled with hits and misses, America crowned a new "idol". 17-year-old Scotty McCreery won the tenth season of "American Idol". He is the first male country singer to win the title. Beyonce, TLC, Mark Anthony and others performed on last night's season finale. Congratulations to Mr McCreery. Lisa Raye McCoy, of the new hit VH1 series "Single Ladies", recently dispelled rumors that she and co-star Stacey Dash have been quibbling on the set. She says it's like anything where women are put together, they have disagreements, but no hair pulling cat fights. "So You Thing You Can Dance" returns for an all new season, and it remains to be seen what it has in store for fans. For those who were unaware, rapper Cassidy was arrested on May 14 in New Jersey for probation violation and was also named a suspect in two attempted murder cases, according to sources. Although the Philadelphia Police Department denied he was being held as a suspect in a murder case, the MC spent nearly a week in jail. Cassidy as gone on record to clear things up. He stated in an interview that he was on probation for a incident that occurred six or seven years ago. He was arrested for not showing up for a scheduled visit with his parole officer. He said his parole officer usually called to remind him of the visits, but was assigned a new P.O. who expected him to appear without prompting. He says he didn't intentially miss the appointment; it just slipped his mind. His lawyers have spoken with the Philadelphia District Attorneys office to make sure their client is in the clear. In 2006 Cassidy served nearly a year in jail on an involuntary manslaughter charge stemming from a shooting that left one man dead. Singer Frank Ocean of the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All collective is set to release his debut on major label Def Jam. Although there has been no official announcement regarding the album's release date, word is it could hit store shelves on July 26. Rumor also has it that the first single could be "Novocaine" produced by Tricky Stewart. Ocean who has joined Beyonce in the studio to work on songs for her upcoming album "4", also released a single called "Acura Integurl" on May 23. Lady Gaga has reached yet another career milestone. Having just released her latest album "Born This Way", the disk went on sale on Amazon.com and so many users logged on the purchase the item, the site crashed. Drake has leaked a song called "Dreams Money  Can Buy", which will appear on his sophomore album "Take Care" on the Young Money label. It should tied fans over until the release of the highly anticipated disc. NFL star Hines Ward was the big winner on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars", ending the shows 12th season.  The "Oprah Winfrey Show" will sign off today after 25 years, and some are wondering who will fill the void that will be left in daytime television. One of her proteges, Dr Oz, will fill her time slots, mostly at 4 p.m., on the majority of stations that carry her show. Other stations will expand their local newscast or air another talk shows to fill the slots. It's the end of an era for one of television's most engaging personalities. It's down to the top finalist on Fox's "American Idol" and tonight they will sing for votes and a recording contract. The results show airs tomorrow. Mediatakeout.com has posted pictures of rapper Snoop Dogg and a video model claiming the two have been having an afffair for some time. The problem is, the pictures are old. Rapper Wiz Khalifa has announced the schedule for his "Rolling Papers Tour", which kicks off on June 12. In othe Wiz Khalifa news, currently girlfriend Amber Rose recently stated during an interview with King magazine that she heard former beau Kanye West's verse at the Cochealla Festivial and thought it was unfortunate. She also went on to say that not only did she not have a voice when dating West, the couple chose not to display their love for one another in public. It's rather ironc, considering that pictures of the two were posted on the internet. Rapper Rick Ross will appear on the cover of the next issue of Vibe magazine. It will be the sexy issue and Ross will appear on the cover without a shirt. Couple alert; "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks and NBA star Wesley Jackson are reportedly dating. Funeral services for former Cali Swag District member Montae "M-Bone" Talbert will be held Friday at Inglewood's Faithful Central Bible Church. Due to overwhelming response from fans, the surviving members of the group have extended a funeral invitation to fans. As mentioned previously, the rapper was gunned down outside a Inglewood CA liquor store. The police have no suspects at this time, and are offering a reward to anyone with any information in the case. The song "Until The End Of Time" by Beyonce has hit the internet. The singer sings of being loyal to her lover through thick and thin. It could possibly be the second single from her upcoming album "4". The singer will also perform on tomorrow's "Oprah Winfrey Show" final. Rapper Drake should save his money. Reportedly, to celebrate the release of Young Money CEO Lil Wayne, the MC spent nearly two thousand dollars on drinks alone when the two hung out, and Weezy can't drink.   Be sure to catch tonight's "Dancing With The Stars" results show. Monday Memo

The film "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" topped the weekend box office, earning over $90 million dollars. "Bridesmaids", "Thor", "Fast Five" and "Rio" round out the top five films of the week. The Billboard Awards aired last night, and teen sensation Justin Bieber and rapper Eminem tied with one another with six awards each. Slim Shady won Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album, among others. Bieber took home trophies for Top New Artist, Top Social Artist and Top Streaming Artist, among others. There was a six way tie for second place; Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Usher, Mumford & Sons and Taio Cruz. Each went home with three trophies. Shakira, Katy Perry, Chris Tomlin and Train each won two awards. The awards show, the first since 2007, also gave special recognition to Beyonce and Neil Diamond's lifetime achievements with the Millenium and Icon Awards respectively, as well as presenting a Touring trophy to U2.  Congratulations to singer Keyshia Cole and NBA star Daniel "Boobie" Gibson are in order. The couple tied the knot late Saturday in a private ceremony in Las Vegas. Although there was no announcement regarding a wedding made, Cole shared the new via Twitter after the ceremony. Gibson shared a tweet of his own as well. The couple has son Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr together. Congratulations to legendary soul singer Chaka Khan are in order as well. She was recently given a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. She has won several Grammys during her 45-year career, and began as the front woman of the 1970's R&B group Rufus. It seems some love a dose of drama, no matter what. Rapper Drake took to Twitter to dispel rumors that he diss Jay Z during a line he tweeted that has fans speculating. A verse on the song "I'm On One" is what has fans wondering about a beef between the two. So far, it looks like trouble has been stirred up where there was none. For fans eagerly awaiting the release of Dr Dre's "Detox", producer Swizz Beatz says relax and let a master do his thing. He says the album is well worth the wait. After 13 years of marriage, singer Faith Evans has filed for divorce from her husband  According to documents filed in LA County Superior Court, the couple has been separated since December 2005. Evans is asking a judge to grant husband Todd Russaw visitation rights, but reject any claim of spousal support. The couple has two children together. Evans and Russaw married in 1998 soon after the death of Evans first husband rapper Notorious B.I.G. A collaboration between "The Voice" co-stars Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera recorded before the premiere of the hit show will finally see the light of day. The song, titled "Nasty", was to appear in Aguilera's film "Burlesque", but was shelved. At any rate, fans of both artists have been given a special treat. The competition continues on "Dancing With The Stars". It's down to the final three couples, and only time will tell who will be the winner. According to the Urban Daily, Raz B, former member of the boy band B2K, is wanted in China for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old boy. The boys says Raz B indulged in several sex acts including sodomy. Fans may recall Raz posted  a video on You Tube discussing the abuse he suffered at the hands of B2K manager Chris Stokes. Stay tuned as this story develops. There are rumors surfacing that Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has been seen visiting her mother in the rehab facility where she's being treated. Some time ago, pictures of the teen drinking and smoking with friends surfaced on the internet. Rapper 50 Cent will be given an opportunity to further cement his place in Hollywood. According to Variety, he's signed on to play a blind DJ in the film "Odd Thomas", an adaptation of the Dean Kootz novel of the same name. The film will also star Willem Defoe and Patton Oswalt. No word on when the film will hit theaters.  For the third year in a row, actor/comedian Mike Epps will join Afeni Shakur, mother of slain rapper Tupac Shakur, to host a celebration of the slain rapper's life. This year will commemorate what would have been Tupac's 40th birthday. The event will be held at the Atlanta Symphony Hall on June 16, which is not only Tupac's birthday, but will also be DeKalb County's official Tupac Day. Atlanta is the home base for the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for the Arts, which was founded by Afeni Shakur, the rapper's mother, and will benefit from tickets sales. In addition to a performance by headliner Erykah Badu, the event will include performances by Too Short, Roy Ayers, Bun B., 8 Ball & MJG and Eric Roberson. There's currently an investigation into police escorts to stars underway. Records show that several celebrities have received them including Jay Z, Charlie Sheen and Bill Gates.  New York City Police Chief Cathy Lanier says the escorts violate department protocol, as escorts are reserved for government officials and foreign dignitaries, unless otherwise approved. The escorts were discovered after a tweet from Charlie Sheen. It looks like rapper Eminem will not receive a pay day from the lawsuit against his record label Universal Music Group after all. The Detroit rapper's old production company FBT initially sued Universal arguing that digital copies of music should be treated as licenses, meaning that 50 percent royalty for artist as opposed to 12 percent sales royalty. Since the rapper declined to participate in the lawsuit, he would have to go to court or negotiate with his record label. Rapper Nelly announced on the "Today Show" that he plans to have a new album in stores by the end of the year. While appearing on the show to promote his new fitness DVD "Celebrity Sweat" , he told "Today Show" hosts Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb that he's going into the studio. The St Louis rapper recently finished shooting the video for Keri Hilson's "Lose Control", the next single from her album "No Boys Allowed". Haley Reinhart was voted off "American Idol" last night. It's down to the top two finalists, and the show gets more exciting by the minute. A Twitter feud of sorts took place between rapper Lil Kim and singer Keyshia Cole. It all began when Lil Kim accused the singer of allowing Nicki Minaj to diss her in a track the two recorded together. Cole and Lil Kim went at it for a second before Cole took the high road in the matter. What Cole hasn't been shy about is admitting she's none to pleased with not being nominated for a BET award. Miami rapper Trina also took to Twitter to voice her displeasure with not being nominated in the best female rap category. R&B singer Tank also has issues with BET. He's a bit peeved that BET didn't nominate singer R Kelly in the best R&B male category. The BET Awards will air live on June 26 at 8 p.m. In the meantime, R Kelly is preparing to hit the road with Keyshia Cole this summer. No tour dates and locations have been announced. Rapper Snoop Dogg, who has just inked an endorsement deal promoting Blast bear, is reportedly interested in starting a talent show featuring unsigned hip hop artists. He stated in an interview that he thinks it's time to find some of the hottest urban artists. There's been no official announcement regarding a deal for a show, however. For fans who have been waiting patiently through the delays of West Coast hip hop mainstay Game's fourth studio album, "The R.E.D. album, the wait is over. The MC announced via Twitter that the album will hit stores on August 23. Since the release of his last album, LAX, the rapper has kept the streets blazing with two mixtapes: 2010's "The Red Room" and this year's "Purp & Patron", both hosted by DJ Skee. J. Cole is gearing up for the release of his debut album, promising no more delays. Speaking at a press conference for the up coming 2011 BET Awards, Cole said he's preparing to get deep into the promotional cycle with the release of a as-yet-untitled first single. Cole's highly anticipated debut album is still without a title or release date. The songs have been sung, the votes counted, and tonight viewers and contestants will learn who will be sent home on tonights "American Idol" results show. It spring, but the CW is working on several shows for its fall line up. It has three new dramas, a trio of reality shows, and a new chief. The network has turned to the producers of "Vampire Diaries" and Gossip Girl" for new shows to pair them with. Sarah Michelle Geller, star of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", will star in a new drama originally developed for co-owner CBS. Only time will tell what will work well for the network, however. Fans eagerly awaiting the release of Nas' "Lost Tapes 2" will be disappointed to know that the Queensbridge MC is shelving the project. The project is being shelved due to record label politics. The rapper is working on new music, however. The rapper stated in an interview that he's in a different place this time around than he was during the release of 2008's "Untitled". He says he's flowing and isn't sure who he will collaborate with. There has been no announcement regarding a release date for Nas' next album. More details are coming regarding the shooting of former Cali Swag District member Montae "M-Bone" Talbert. According to an interview the slain rappers girlfriend gave to TMZ, the shooting occurred because a neighbor in the apartment building the two lived in was jealous of M-Bone and Cali Swag District's success and sent him threatening messages on Twitter. She also stated that she picked Bone up at the airport at around 12:15 p.m.and they spent the day at the apartment. Bone later took her car and said he was going to the studio. Although the motive is still unknown, Cali Swag District wants to make it clear there were no gangs involved. The rapper's body was found next to his girlfriend's car outside a Inglewood CA liquor store. The Inglewood Police Department is still investigating and asking if anyone knows anything to come forward. Rapper B.o.B. is currently in the studio working on tracks for his new album, which will be released later this year. He's already cut a single with producer Jim Jonsin called "Rule The World". The two have worked on four songs, and "Rule The World" could be a possible single. Jonsin stated that the rapper may not have as many features this time around and wants fans to hear more of him. Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" have sent the internet into a frenzy by releasing the album cover for their upcoming release "Hell: The Sequel". It features the two in a bleak background with records at their feet. "Hell: The Sequel" hits stores on June 14. BET's "106 & Park" has announced that its No ID Tour will kick off in July. The tour will feature Young Money artist Tyga, Mindless Behavior, and Young Money's Lil Twist. The sixteen city tour will kick off on July 7 at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles. The shows will be a treat for fans of the young artists. Its been confirmed that Alicia Keys will perform at the upcoming BET Awards. While no other artists have been confirmed as yet, the show is sure to be as exciting as last years event. In other BET news, Chris Brown leads the nominee list for BET Awards with a total of six nods. He's won nominations including Best R&B Artist and Video of the Year. The Young Money Team, Kanye West, Rihanna, Trey Songz and B.o.B. also picked up nominations as well. The BET Awards will air live on June 26 at 8 p.m. Former 80's star Ralph Macchio was given the boot on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars". Three couples remain in the series semi-finals, and it's anyone's guess who will walk away with the mirror ball trophy. Sad  news out of the world of hip hop. Montae "M Bone" Talbert, of the hip hop group Cali Swag District, was shot and killed in an apparent drive by shooting. Rumor has it the shooting was over a young woman the resident dancer for Cali Swag District was dating. There was an apparent Twitter feud as well, although none of the rumors have been confirmed. Stay tuned as this story develops. Sean "Diddy" Combs and rapper Nicki Minaj have ended their business relationship. The Young Money rapper has hired Hip Hop Since 1978. Reportedly, when the rapper signed with Diddy she was under the impression that he would be more hands on in the handling of her career. He was not. She had been working with James Cruz, one of Diddy's management partners, and former member of Violator Management. Hip Hop Since 1978 also handles the careers of Drake, Lil Wayne and Kanye West. Singer Alicia Keys, who is featured on the cover of the June issue of Essence magazine opens up about her relationship with producer Swizz Beatz. She says the two didn't start seeing one another until Swizz had been separated for months from ex-wife Mashonda. Although Ms Keys admitted that the home wrecker remarks hurt, she remained quiet about it all. Despite some not so nice open letters from Mashonda, Ms Keys says the two are now getting along well. Singer Rihanna has begun collaborating with director Anthony Mandler on the video for her next single, "Man Down". The song is about a woman who seeks forgiveness after killing a man. The two have worked together on 16 previous videos, including "Disturbia" and "Russian Roulette". There's been no word on when the video will be released. Rapper Rick Ross says the inspiration for his Maybach Music Group was Master P and Sean "Diddy" Combs. He stated in an interview with Billboard.com, the CEO stated that he saw what the other CEOs did and he thinks it spilled over into their music. With a collective's first album on the way, he says he recruited MC's with talent of their own. Pill, Meek Mill, Wale, Stalley, Gunplay, Torch and singer Teedra Moses comprise the MMG crew. The cooperative's first compilation album "Self Made Vol. 1" hits stores on May 23. Lauryn Hill has denied the rumors of a Fugees reunion. It was rumored that the New Jersey rap trio would reunite for a presidential inauguration ceremony in Haiti. Hill's response to the rumors were released through a representative. Although the singer did say she'd like to perform in Haiti, she didn't hint at any Fugees reunion. She's currently on her Moving Target tour. Lady Gaga has reached another milestone. The pop star has now gained over 1 million followers on Twitter. For the second week in a row "Thor" topped the weekend box office, earning over $34 million dollars. "Bridesmaids", "Fast Five", "Priest" and "Rio" round out the top five films of the week. Congratulations to Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa are in order. His latest single "Roll Up", has just gone gold. According to Atlantic Records, the single has passed the 500,000-sales mark. Wiz's major label debut, "Rolling Papers", entered Billboard's Top 200 Chart at No. 2, and has sold 370,000 copies to date. Big Boi of the Atlanta rap group Outkast has launched a record label called Purple Kids, which will promote young artists. The catch is that the label was a gift to his 16-year old daughter Jordan Patton. In an interview with Billboard magazine, the rapper stated that he wanted to give his daughter something she could grow, build and nurture. The label will launch in a few weeks with Gabbie Rae, a You Tube sensation who has already appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show". First Soulja Boy prepares to release  a movie and mixtape "Juice" after the classic 1992 film of same name. Now, the Atlanta rapper has announced that he's considering the lead role in a biopic about the life of the late Tuapc Shakur. He says the William Morris Agency contacted him regarding possibly playing the role. In the meantime, the rapper is currently in the studio, where he is reportedly working with Drake. As mentioned previously,  ABC's "Good Morning America" has announced that they've tapped Beyonce and Nicki Minaj to appear as part of it's Summer Concert series that takes place in New York City at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Others to appear on the series will be Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige and Lady Gaga. The series starts on May 27. Not to be outdone, NBC's "Today Show" has announced that it has tapped Chris Brown, Cee-Lo and Rihanna to appear on their show. Rapper 50 Cent has announced that he's almost done with his next release. Although the upcoming album is still untitled, the G-Unit general is looking to surpass the sales of his debut album "Get Rich Or Die Trying". He has yet to surpass the sales of that release with any of his other releases. It's down to four couples on "Dancing With The Stars," and the show is heading for a season of record ratings. One reason for the skyrocketing ratings is that each couple is evenly matched. Tune in tonight as the contestants dance for votes, and be sure to catch tomorrow's results show. Fox, meanwhile, has two projects in the works for fall. One is the Simon Cowell produced show "X Factor", which will inherit "American Idol's" time slots. The other is Terra Nova, an ambitious time-travel dinosaur adventure from Steven Spielberg. The network, which is number one with young-adult viewers, will  unveil it's new schedule to advertisers, and has committed to six more series. A "Bones" spin off, the JJ Abrams drama "Alcatraz", and four new comedies, including the animated "Allen Gregory", starring Jonah Hill as a precocious 7-year old and "Napoleon Dynamite", featuring the 2004 original film's cast. According to mediatakeout.com, singer Beyonce is not pleased with husband Jay Z's Rock Nation management. The problems began reportedly when a listening party for the singer's next studio album was given, and attendees were not pleased with what they heard. There's talk of the album being rerecorded to include more ballads. Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries are stepping up the romance game a notch. The NBA star will appear on the upcoming season of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians". Producer Jermaine Dupri has been hit with a lawsuit for missed child support payments. After a paternity test proved that he fathered a seven-month-old girl with Sarai Jones, he was ordered to pay the woman $10,000 a month. Dupri hasn't made good on any payments. He narrowly escaped having his Atlanta mansion go into foreclosure, and owes $493,768.75 to the IRS in back taxes on income earned in 2007. Fans of legendary hip hop group The Lost Boyz will be happy to know that a memorial celebration for slain group member Freaky Tah will take place May 14 at Lincoln Park in South Ozone, Queens. The rapper would have turned 40 years old this week. Freaky Tah was shot in the back of the head while leaving a birthday party for group mate Mr Cheeks at the Four Points Sheredian Hotel in South Jamaica. The gunman, Kelvin Jones, is now serving a sentence of 15 years to life. An accomplice Raheem Fletcher is serving seven years. The group is known for such hits as "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" and "Renee". Despite the slowly recovering economy, artists are taking their shows on the road for summer tours, but being more Conservative. Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney are among those fans can look forward to seeing this summer. The industry has learned about giving fans their money's worth. Ashton Kutcher will replace Charlie Sheen on the CBS hit "Two And A Half Men". CBS and Warner Bros will make the announcement after a one year deal to include about 24 episodes was made. Shamar Moore will reportedly get a raise for his role on the hit show "Criminal Minds" to 100,000. James Durbin was given the boot on "American Idol". Tune in next week as the competition continues. Model Amber Rose stated in an interview that current boyfriend Wiz Khalifa courted her by ordering a pair of sunglasses from her via twitter. She later went on to say that the two started out as friends first. Fans will remember there was a rumored confrontation between Wiz Khalifia and Kanye West. At any rate, Rose states that it's impossible to compare the two men. Beyonce has announced that the title of her fourth studio album will be "Four". There's been no announcement regarding a release date for the  project, however. In other Beyonce news, she along with Mary J. Blige and Rihanna will be among the performers on ABC's "Good Morning America Summer Concert Series". The song actor Charlie Sheen reportedly worked on with rapper Snoop Dogg has seen the light of day. Only time will tell how well it does on the charts. Rumor has it that Atlanta rapper Ludacris has tied the knot with his long time girlfriend. Some sources say he's been married for about a year, while others say he's only been married for a few months. The six men charged with shooting rapper Waka Floka Flame's tour bus back in February will have all the charges against them dismissed. The reason for dismissing the charges is that although there was a shooting, there is not enough evidence to prosecute them. The men were originally charged with attempted armed robbery, conspiracy, discharging  a weapon into an occupied territory when the bus was shot at while Waka was having a auto system updated at Car Stereo Warehouse in North Charlotte North Carolina. The rapper was talking to fans in the parking lot at the time. One of the men was shot by a member of his security. R&B star Ne-Yo was a part of an all-star line up of artists that performed a special concert for Coca Cola employees. The show was a free performance for staff celebrating the soft drink makers 125th anniversary. Hosted by "American Idol's" Ryan Seacrest, the concert was held at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta and streamed live on the company's website www.cocacola.com. Although he was the only R&B artist to perform, Ne-Yo was among some other high-profile performers including Natasha Bedingfield and Kelly Clarkson. After being sentenced to prison for probation violation, rapper Gucci Mane will not have to serve a full 15-month sentence after all. The rapper's attorneys were able to convince a Fulton County judge to set him free at the end of June. Fans will recall the Atlanta rap star pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle, thus violating his probation. Diddy and Fabolous went to Los Angeles to shoot scenes for newcomer Kevin Cossom's debut single "Baby I Like It". Cossom has written for 50 Cent, Rick Ross and Keri Hilson and is currently in the studio with Mary J. Blige and Justin Bieber. His debut album will be released on Jive Records later this year.  Fans and contestants will find out who goes home on tonight's "American Idol" results show. "Idol" winner Jordin Sparks will perform during the show. Country singer Shania Twain's new reality series "Why Not? With Shania Twain" was the highest rated premiere to date, outside of premiere weekend for Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. It pulled in 839,000 viewers, which is a victory for the network. Singer Mary J. Blige and rapper/producer Swizz Beatz have collaborated on a new single titled "It's You". The single, which is likely to become a summer anthem, will appear on Swizz's upcoming sophomore album "Haute Living". Although it hasn't been confirmed, the album should be released some time this summer. Mary J Blige's next release "My Life 2: The Journey Continues" will hit stores September 20. Rapper Joe Budden recently gave an interview to New York radio station Power 105.1 where he denied allegations that he beat ex-girlfriend Esther Baxter, causing her to have a  miscarriage. While photos of a battered and bruised Baxter as well as the unborn fetus have hit the internet, Budden claimed during his interview that he only "hemmed her up". Baxter is not the first woman to accuse the rapper of domestic violence. Video model Tahiry made a similar accusation. Upcoming rapper Big Sean will speak with students at audio engineering school SAE Institute Wednesday morning. He will discuss his journey, and offer advice on making it in the music industry. He will also listen to music, lyrics and recordings in the school's recording studio and offer students constructive criticism on their work.  The Detroit born rapper signed with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. label and his label debut "Finally Famous" will it stores on June 21. Lady Gaga has found a new way to thrill fans. To celebrate the release of her upcoming album "Born This Way", Lady Gaga will team up with social gaming company Zynga to promote "Born This Way" before it's May 23 release. The program, which launches on May 17, will allow fans to interact in a Gaga-inspired virtual farm called GagaVille featuring crystals, unicorns and sheep on motorcycles. Fans will also be able to have first listen to tracks a week before the album hits stores and those who buy $25 Zynga game cards will be treated to Gaga exclusives. New York rapper Jadakiss revealed in an interview that he will appear on songs for both Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy. Singer Whitney Houston has voluntarily checked herself into a outpatient rehabilitation center. The singer can appear in public with the aid of a monitoring bracelet. Here's hoping the singer gets her life and career back on track soon. While awaiting trial on a murder charge, rapper Lil Boosie's Louisiana home has been placed on foreclosure. He's just another on a long list of artists who have lost homes due to the current economy. If you thought that rapper 50 Cent and Jay Z were on the verge of becoming BFF's , you'd be wrong. The G-Unit general reportedly stated in an interview that he and Hova are not friends, they just use one another.  California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shriver have decided to call it quits after 25 years of marriage. The couple has four children together. Singer Rod Stewart will strut the Vegas strip when he begins a two year run that will begin on August 24. "Rod Stewart: The Hits" will run at Caesars Palace's Colosseum. The show should be a treat for fans of the raspy voiced singer. He says it's something he's always wanted to do. Singer Mashonda says she will not return for another season of the the show "Love & Hip Hop" , saying she initially did the show assuming it would be positive. The show is a reality series featuring girlfriends/wives of hip hop artists. Jay Z will join Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga in auctioning off items to benefit singer Mary J Blige's charity organization Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now. He will auction off an internship at his Rock Nation music management and publishing company. Gaga will auction off tickets to her next meet and greet at "Good Morning America", and Aguilera will auciton off tickets to the show "The Voice", on which she appears as a coach. The organization was started by Blige and Steve Stoute in 2007 to inspire all women to reach their full potential. Lauryn Hill will make a rare television appearance on Thursday on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon". During the show, she will perform two songs paying tribute to late reggae legend Bob Marley. She is currently on her "Moving Target" tour. Other stars who will take the stage with Hill include Jennifer Hudson, Ziggy Marley and Lenny Kravitz. Raphael Saadiq and Warren Haynes have new music in stores this week. Rapper T.I. will be released from prison in September. The film "Thor" soared to the top of the weekend box office, earning over $66 million dollars. "Fast Five", "Jumping The Broom", "Something Borrowed" and "Rio" round out the top five films of the week. Just when brewing companies are pegging hip hop artists to endorse their products, one company in particular hasn't been as lucky. Colorado beer company Twin Pines tried unsuccessfully to sign Wu Tang Clan MC Ghostface Killah to a deal. The company has even named it's new beverage "Ghost Face Killah".  The general manager of the company stated in an interview that they tried to contact the rapper, but never received a call back.  The new brew is made of five different types of peppers. Promoter Live Nation Entertainment and social media site Groupon have launched a joint venture where fans will be offered discounted tickets to concerts, sports and other live events. GrouponLive will give Live Nation and it's global ticketing business, Ticketmaster, a new avenue for reaching casual consumers not attracted by traditional marketing. It's aimed at those who are unaware of an event or who buy tickets at the last minute. The venture is not only about cutting prices, but drawing new customers. Matthew Morrison, star of the Fox hit "Glee", will have an additional treat for fans when he releases his debut album tomorrow. The album, titled "Mark Morrison", will feature duets with Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow, among others. He says he wants people to know who he is since he's known for his work on the show. The 42nd New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival ended with veteran artists closing the show with strong sets. The Neville Brothers, Sonny Rollins, Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band and the Radiators were among the performers at the annual event. An incident involving rapper Drake shows that when in public with the Young Money MC, it's best to be on your best behavior. It all began when the rapper was enjoying a night on the town, and a video vixen in the VIP section with the star became unruly. He had the woman removed, and she was later arrested. Atlanta rap group Ying Yang Twins are among the stars suing a website claiming the site has turned a profit from digital downloading. The 2 Live Crew and The Force MD's are among the other plaintiffs in the suit. Singer Ashanti reportedly took to twitter to confirm that she and Nelly are indeed over. Fans will recall that rumors of a romance between the  two swirled around for some time, although it was never confirmed. Guess the tweet is the confirmation everyone's been looking for. Be sure to pick up the latest issue of the Source. The magazine features actor Idris Elba on the cover. The actor discusses his role in the film "Thor" and future career moves. The latest issue of XXL magazine is on newsstands also. It features Chicago MC Lupe Fiasco. He discusses his new album and the support he receives from fans. New Edition fans will be happy to know that the rumored reunion of the group is a go. The group announced that they will reunite at the Essence Music Festival in July. Len Blavatnik's Access Industries has announced that it will purchase Warner Music Group Corp, the third largest recording company, for $1.3 billion. The companies stated that the purchase, for about $8.25 a share, will include the assumption of about $1.9 billion in debt. The deal comes as the industry faces a steep global decline in CD sales. US recorded music sales are half of what they were a decade ago. Digital sales gains have started to flatten and CD sales continue to fall. Audiences said goodbye to Jacob Lusk on "American Idol' last night. Jennifer Lopez performed with rapper Pit Bull, and country act Lady Antebellum performed as well. Congratulations to Paul McCartney are in order. He's engaged to be married to current girlfriend Nancy Shevell. This will be McCartney's third marriage. He married Linda McCartney in 1969 and Heather Mills in 2002. Though his marriage to Mills ended with a messy divorce, McCartney wasn't hesitant to give love another try. Actress Tia Mowry of the hit show "The Game" will be doing a Demi Moore soon. The actress, who is expecting her first child in July, has announced that she will pose nude for some photographs. There's no word on when or where the photos will appear. Apparently fans loved Lil Wayne's hit single "Lollipop" so much that he's considering recording a second part to the song. Although there's been no word on a title for the single and when it will be released, Weezy is reportedly working on the track. In other Lil Wayne news, the Young Money general is just one of the stars slated to  perform at this year's Hot 97 Summer Jam concert. The rest of the lineup includes Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, Waka Floka Flame, Rick Ross, Drake, Birdman, Dipset, Chris Brown and Lloyd Banks. The show will take place on June 5 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey.  Mel Gibson's ex has apparently had a change of heart. She's dropped the domestic violence charges against the actor, reportedly  for the sake of taking care of the nasty child custody case between the two. For fans who'd like to know, the last guest to appear on the final episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will be Oprah Winfrey herself. The talk show queen will take questions from her studio audience during the last episode of her hit show. A who's who of country music will join forces to raise money for tornado victims in the South. Hank Williams Jr, Alabama, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw will join other stars for a 90-minute benefit concert to take place on May 12 in Nashville. Proceeds from the concert will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Hip hop super group The Black Eyed Peas will host a free concert in New York's Central Park for fans this summer. Proceeds from the show will benefit The Robin Hood Foundation, a charity organization that helps fight New York's war on poverty. Fans as well as contestants will find out who will go home on tonight's episode of "American Idol". In other "Idol" news, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Antebellum will  perform on tonight's show. "Grey's Anatomy" will air tonight also. Be sure to check out the film "Jumping The Broom" when it hits theaters this weekend. It stars Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Loretta Devine, Romeo Miller and Laz Alonzo. A picture of rapper Nicki Minaj with a caption reading "You're next". has surfaced. The ironic thing is, Lil Kim has received the picture and the beef between the two has been stirred up again. Only time will tell when the drama will end. A transvestite has announced that he/she is working on a tell all book detailing their sexual escapades with some of the hottest names in the entertainment industry. Reportedly, LL Cool J, Mr Cee and Eddie Murphy are among the names mentioned in the book. There's been no announcement regarding a release date for the book, however. Singer Toni Braxton was scheduled to perform on Mother's Day in Trinidad, but has had to cancel due to death threats. As most fans know, the singer has a new reality series featuring her sisters called "Braxton Family Values". Outkast member Big Boi recently tweeted that he's been in the studio with independent rock band Modest House. He's been working on some tracks for the groups next album with his engineer Chris Caramouche. He even posted a picture of himself in the studio with the band members. Kanye West and Jay Z have enlisted Beyonce and Bruno Mars to sing on the duo's upcoming single "Lift Off". The single was produced by Jeff Bhasker and will be featured on the duo's highly anticipated collaboration album "Watch The Throne". There's been no announcement regarding a release date for the album, however. The Cleveland rap Bone Thugs & Harmony has been hit with a lawsuit. Former associate Roland Brown, who was a writer on the 1996 platinum album "Family Scriptures", which was a side project says he hasn't been paid any royalties from the song "Take Your Time". It was the projects lead single. He seeks $27 million in damages. Besides Bone Thugs, Sony, Ruthless Records, Relativity, WMG, and Mo Thugs Inc are also named in the suite. This news comes at what has been a difficult time for the group. Founding member Krazie Bone announced that he would be leaving the group due to "uncontrollable circumstances".  R&B singer Monica will be an advisor on the NBC hit show "The Voice". She will work with contestants as they each work to win the grand prize. Be sure to tune in next week as the competition continues on "Dancing With The Stars".  The contestants will offer something new in the form of a current hit and something old in the form of a sixties oldie on tonight's "American Idol". Sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Rapper Flava Flav was arrested in Las Vegas after a routine traffic stop. It turns out he had four warrants out for him, all  traffic violations. He was released after posting bail. Flava tweeted about the incident saying that the officer who pulled him over was just a rookie who wanted to  make a name for himself. Rapper Wiz Khalifa responded to rumors  he and Kanye West almost came to blows at this years Cochellea Festival by saying that although he heard West's lyrics dissing Amber Rose, he' all about positivity. "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez will release the video for her single "I'm Into You". Although Lil Wayne appears on the song, he doesn't appear in the video. Old school rapper Boss has taken to Twitter to search for a kidney donor. The female MC is in need of a kidney transplant and is looking for help. She's also involved with "Rappers For Kidneys", an organization that includes artists who spread awareness about kidney disease. The trial of Michael Jackson's doctor has been pushed back to September. Dr Conrad Murray's lawyers successfully argued that they don't have time to prepare for next week's trial due to new evidence the prosecution has presented. In more Michael Jackson news, Chris Brown's video for his latest single "She Ain't You" pays tribute to the late singer. In one scene, he even wears a costume similar to one MJ whore in his "Smooth Criminal" video. The song is a reworking of Jackson's hit "Human Nature". 1990's girl group SWV sampled the song for their 1993 hit "Right Here". Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco, who appears on the cover of the latest issue of XXL, recently made his disdain for blogs clear during an interview. It appears that one blog in question has leaked songs from his latest album "Lasers". Although it hasn't been confirmed, rumor has it that Lupe and the lead blogger for 2dopeboyz.com got into a altercation recently. At any rate, Lupe says the internet has been instrumental in promoting hip hop. As fans continue to wait with baited breath for the release of Dr Dre's "Detox" album, it's been announced that the doctor will release another track from the album on Friday called "Die Hard". The track will be played during an episode of Showtime's "Fight Camp 360: Pacquiao/Mosley". The track features protege Eminem. There's still no confirmed release date for the album, however. Soulja Boy reportedly stated in an interview that the CEO was trying to recruit him. Williams says Soulja owes his current label Interscope two more albums. West coast rap legend Warren G revealed in a recent interview that he has plans to put together a all star tribute video and EP in honor of his former music partner Nate Dogg, who died on March 15. The two previously worked together along with Snoop Dogg in a group called 213 years ago. The EP is expected to be released is mid June or early July.
