Wednesday Roundup
Congratulations to singer Fantasia are in order. The former "American Idol" winner gave birth to a baby boy a few days ago. While it hasn't been confirmed, it's rumored that the father of the child is Antoine Cook, the gentleman she reportedly had an affair with some time ago. No other details are available. Yet another hip hop beef for fans to talk about. Waka Flocka Flame has attacked Wiz Khalifia. Waka, in so many words, has said that Wiz has become successful because of hype, and not swag. So far, Wiz hasn't responded. Let's hope all involved grow up soon. The industry is large enough for everyone to become successful. Rapper Gucci Mane will receive and early Christmas present. He'll be released from prison early after only serving half of his sentence. Fans will recall that he was charged with battery and disorderly conduct after pushing a woman out of his car when she refused his sexual advances. Here's hoping the rapper stays out of trouble and concentrates on making music. Rapper Lil Wayne's "I Am Still Music" tour has become the highest grossing tour of the year. The tour has grossed millions with no signs of slowing down. Meanwhile, protege Drake's "Club Paradise" tour will begin reportedly in February in Miami. It should be a delight for fans of the Toronto MC. Music chairs of sorts will be played on "The X Factor". Rumor has it that former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will replace Kelly Rowland on the UK version of the hit show, while Rowland will take over Scherzinger's spot on the US version. At any rate, the competition will continue as the contestants attempt to wow judges and the studio and viewing audience. The members of the 90's R&B group 112 have been busy with solo projects and there's a rumored reunion in the works as well. Let's hope the group gets back together soon. The film "G.I. Joe 2" is set to hit theaters soon and is sure to be a hit with fans of the toy action figure. On the tube: "The X Factor" on Fox, "Survivor: South Pacific" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Up All Night" on NBC. Happy hump day!
