Thursday Dish

The Miami police department is no longer interested in speaking with rapper Rick Ross regarding the dead body found in front of his home. Police responded to a call of shots being fired, and upon their arrival, found a dead body in front of Ross's home. It's been reported that although Ross owns the home, he doesn't live there. Meanwhile, former drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross will get another shot at rapper Rick Ross. Fans will recall that Freeway Ricky Ross filed suit against the rapper for illegally using his name. The case was dismissed. Freeway has appealed and the two will square off in court in May. We'll have to wait and see how things play out then. Mediatakeout.com reported that rapper Tyga recently went to dinner with a concert promoter after a show, and when asked who would pay the bill, Tyga pointed to the promoter and said he would. Upon getting up to leave with doggy bag in hand, Tyga was approached by two thugs with guns. He assumed they intended to rob him, but they instead asked him to dance. Tyga, of course took to Twitter to rant about the story asking who runs mediatakeout.com. So far, no response from mediatakeout.com. Music mogul Clive Davis has shot down rumors that he's planning a Whitney Houston biopic by saying he has no plans to do it. Rumor had it that Jennifer Hudson was among those being consider for the role, but fans shouldn't hold their breaths waiting for that to happen. In other Whitney Houston news, she's landed three albums in the Billboard Top Ten, the only artist to accomplish such a feat.  According to Us Weekly, actor/comedian Eddie Murphy and singer Toni Braxton are officially a couple. There's been no confirmation or denial from representatives for either. Don't expect the theatrical style of rapper Nicki Minaj to change anytime soon. In a recently interview with MTV News, the rapper stated she studied theater and the skits she' become known for are what she does when she has the forum to do it. Minaj was fresh off her opening performance at the NBA All Star Game last weekend, and no doubt has much more in store for fans. Although her more pop oriented material has rubbed hip hop fans the wrong way, Minaj says when people want to do what you're doing, it's popular.
