Friday Facts

LA Reid is officially done with "The X Factor". After two seasons, he says he'll leave the hit talent show to focus on his day job as an executive at Epic Records. No word on a replacement for Reid. If you ever decide to purchase a pair of headphones from Beats By Dre, you may want to take a good look at your receipt. The good Dr has reportedly  moved his account to Ireland where he won't have to pay much taxes. Rapper Kanye West wore a kilt while performing at a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy relief. Girlfriend Kim Kardashian tweeted how cute she thought he looked in the item. Rick Ross, John Legend and Anthony Hamilton have all made the shortlist for Academy Award nominations for Best Original Song. Both Ross and Hamilton have songs that appear in the Quinton Taratino film "Django Unchained", while the Black Keys have a song that appears in the RZA directed film "The Man With The Iron Fist". The nominations won't be announced until January 10. The "Unchained" guys have some stiff competition in singer Adele, who recorded the new James Bond theme song "Skyfall". Jamie Foxx will also host a show chronicling the making of the Taratino film this weekend.  Atlanta rapper Trinidad James has made the rapping thing look easy. It was announced via press release that he's inked  a deal with Def Jam Records. The label said in a statement that it's pleased to have a talent like his become part of the family. James broke out of the rap scene with his single "All Gold Everything", which is featured on his mixtape "Don't Be S.A.F.E". The ensuing music video was a huge success with 3.1 million views on You Tube as if featured James' loud fashion sense and original country-chic persona. In settling on a joint venture deal with Def Jam, he'll bring his Gold Gang  movement to the label that already includes hip hop stars Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Kanye West and 2 Chainz. In theaters this weekend: "The Hobbit": An Unexpected Journey". On the tube: "Kitchen Nightmares" on Fox, "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" on CBS, "Last Man Standing" on ABC and "Blake Shelton's Not So Family Christmas" on NBC. Make it a weekend!
