Monday Memo

The film "Oz: The Great And Powerful" topped the weekend box office, earning over $145 million. "The Call", "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone", "Jack The Giant Slayer" and "Identity Thief" round out the top five films of the week. Despite reports from celebrity website TMZ, rapper Lil Wayne is home resting comfortably after suffering a seizure during at a video shoot. TMZ has come under fire for reporting that the New Orleans native was in the hospital in a coma, on life support and that his mother had to be called to make life decisions. A publicist for Young Money Entertainment released  a statement saying the reports were untrue and that the rapper was on the mend. In the meantime, Bryan "Birdman" Williams tweeted that Wayne would be home soon. Hopefully, the worst is over now. The manager of rapper Waka Flocka Flame is suing rapper French Montana for unpaid management fees claiming he booked shows without her consent. There's been no comment from the rapper regarding the suit. Singer BeyoncĂ© has released yet another female empowerment anthem titled "Bow Down". The singer released the single via her web site and it's sure to be as big a hit as her previous ones. Rapper Bow Wow has been accused of posting video of a porn star dancing without her consent. No comments regarding the matter have been made and it will be interesting to see what comes of it. Questlove of the Roots is busy working on his memoir "Mo Meta Blues: The World According To Questlove" and fans may be able to catch snipets of it on Twitter. He told Billboard that he's the kind of guy who is always writing, so he could post some items on his page. In addition to a storied career as a member of the Roots, who have a job as the house band for Jimmy Fallon, Questlove has also produced for such artists as D'Angelo, Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse; designed Dunks for Nike, a New York-friendly drum kit for Ludwig and reruited rapper Jay Z as producer of the Broadway  hit "Fela!". "Mo Meta Blues" will hit stores on June 18. Rapper Jay Z put rumors that he's scoring the film "The Great Gatsby" by saying that he'll produce the film's soundtrack. Hova was introduced to the director by it's star Leonardo DiCaprio The film also stars Toby Mcquire. "The Great Gatsby" hits theaters in 2D and 3d on May 10. The soundtrack will be distributed by Interscope Records. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars Live" on ABC and "The Biggest Loser" on NBC.
