Thursday Dish

"Idol Gives Back" aired last night and the show was filled with star studded performances from the Blackeyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Josh Stone and Jeff Beck and Mary J Blige and the All Star Band. Wanda Sykes and George Lopez were also on hand to give the show some comic relief. Rapper Queen Latifah hosted a peformance segment from Pasadena CA while the results show was held in Hollywood. Tim Urban was voted off the show, knocking the contestant pool down to six. The sister of Keith "Guru" Elam of Gangstar has released a offical statement regarding her brother's death saying that the family wants the thank the fans for their outpouring of love and support. She also mentioned that the family is planning a memorial in honor of the hip hop icon to take place in the near future. Stay tune for details as they become available. Rapper Lloyd Banks recently stated in an interview with bet.com that he doesn't particuliarly care for the latest track by rapper Shyne, the first from the embattled rapper in nine years. He stated he believes Shyne sounds like someone who started rapping after they completed their sentence and not the other way around. Banks is preparing to release his third solo effort titled "The Hunger For More 2" in the summer of 2010.
