Wednesday Roundup

It was inspirational night on "American Idol" last night, with Alicia Keys mentoring the top seven contestants. The best performances of the evening came from Michael Lynch and Crystal Bowersox. Since the season began they have proven to be the frontrunners in the competition. Kate Gosselin was voted off "Dancing With The Stars" last night. The competition on the show is getting down to the wire and it appears that Pussycat Doll Nicole Shurtzsinger may go home with the mirror ball trophy. Singer Chris Brown will headline "Virginia Stand Up! A Call To Action" on May 15 in Richmond VA at Virginia Commonwealth University's Siegel Center. Proceeds will go to the American Red Cross, Greater Richmond Chapter, to support the organization's relief efforts in Haiti and the Virginia Food Bank. Mario, Keri Hilson, Tre Songz, Juelz Santana and Ryan Leslie are also slated to perform on the show as well. On a sad note, the world of hip hop has lost one of it's icons. Keith "Guru" Elam of the legendary hip hop duo Gangstar past away after battling cancer for more than a year. He suffered a heart attack back in March and his health issues were then brought to light. May he rest in peace. His music will live on. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The New Adventures Of Old Christine" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Mercy" on NBC. Happy hump day!
