Wednesday Roundup

The lawsuit filed by Freeway Ricky Ross against rapper Rick Ross has been thrown out of court. Fans will recall the one time drug lord filed suit against Ross and his record label Def Jam, claiming the rapper used his name to sign a deal with the rap label. Ross's next project will be released as planned.  In an effort to jump start her career, rapper Lil Kim says she'd like to do a duet with singer Rihanna. No word on whether any plans for the two to get together in the studio have been made. It sounds like an interesting pairing, nevertheless. CNN host Larry King has announced that he will sign off of the cable network's signature show "Larry King Live" this fall after 25 years. While the network has stated that it hasn't negotiated with anyone and will make a decision later this summer, several names have been thrown in the hat as possible replacements. Among them, "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric, whose contract expires this fall; Piers Morgan, a former British talk show host and now judge on "America's Got Talent" and "American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest. Stay tuned.  Directors Katheryn Bigelow and Michael Moore have been elected to the board of governors that oversees the Oscars. The academy announced that Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker") and Moore ("Bowling For Columbine") were among 15 new or returning members elected to three year terms on the board of Acadmey of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Congradulations to both. On the tube: "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Minute To Win It" on NBC. Happy hump day!
