Rick Ross can keep his name thanks to a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge. The Maybach Music CEO was sued by former drug kingpin Freeway Rick Ross for illegal use of the name. Freeway Rick Ross says he plans to regroup then appeal to the Supreme Court. He indicated that a suit should have been filed while he was still serving prison time. Stay tuned. In other Rick Ross news, protege Stalley is set to release his mixtape "Savage Journey To The American Dream" today, and intends to keep building momentum. The late Whitney Houston reportedly stated before her death that she was assisting daughter Bobbi Kristina with entering the entertainment industry. The wish has been granted as the teenager has joined the cast of Tyler Perry's "For Better Or Worst". Legendary West Coast rapper E-40 is one of many hip hop artists who's been moved by the Trayvon Martin case. In a recent interview, he stated he learned of the incident after coming across a New York rally where thousands protested to demand justice. The father of boys also shard the advice he gives his sons saying to now allow those making negative statements to pull one in to responding negatively. R&B crooner Jason Derulo hasn't let his neck injury slow him down. In a recent interview, the singer shared that he's recording material and once back to full health, will plan a tour as well. The choreography accident which injured the star caused him to cancel a tour. This should be good news to fans looking forward to new music from the star. For those unaware, Monday marked the 17th anniversary of the death of West Coast rap icon Eazy E. The later rapper son, rapper.actor Lil Eazy E visits his father's grave each year to reflect. This year, he got more than he bargained for when he arrived at the site only to find it had been trashed by fans. Empty beer cans and burnt blunts had been left by overzealous fans. The star removed the items before sitting down to reminisce. Eazy E died of complications of AIDS on March 26, 1995. He formed Ruthless Records and founded the seminal rap group N.W.A. before the group disbanded. Heejun was booted off Fox's "American Idol" last night. Charges against singer Bobby Brown have been upgraded to driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Fans will recall Brown was stopped in Los Angeles for talking on a cell phone, then failed a breathalyzer test. He says he wasn't drunk at the time of the incident. Both charges could receive a sentence of up to six months in jail. Director Spike Lee has apologized for mistaking an address he tweeted for George Zimmerman's. The address turned out to be that of an elderly couple, who have been harassed. Lee released a statement apologizing to the couple and asked that they be left alone. Singer Rihanna is dodging questions regarding her relationship with actor Ashton Kutcher. While promoting her latest film, "Battlestar", the singer answered a question from a reporter by saying she's single. Waka Floka Flame fans will be happy to know that they not only have a new album from the Atlanta rapper to look forward to, he's also slated to head out on the "Club Paradise" tour with Drake. His new album will hit stores on June 12. The new season of gospel duo Mary Mary's reality series premieres. Congratulations to Tina Campbell are in order. She's expecting her third child. VH1's "Behind The Music" airs with an episode on the life and career of T-Pain. T.I fans will be happy to know that his reality series "Family Hustle" has been picked up for another season. Rapper Wiz Khalifa seems to be putting down roots. He recently purchased a home 25 miles from his old high school for he and girlfriend Amber Rose. "Basketball Wives" star Tami Roman was rushed to Cedar Sinai Medical Center after complaining of not feeling well. It turns out she suffered a mild heart attack. She's now home and even tweeted about the incident. Writer/director/producer Spike Lee took to Twitter to spread the word about the Travon Martin case, and took things further than they should have been. He tweeted what was presumably the address of shooter George Zimmerman, the only problem was, it wasn't Zimmerman's address. It was the address of an elderly couple, who have been harassed so that they've had to move to a hotel. Music giant EMI has settled its lawsuit with Cash Money Records. Fans will recall that the label sued the Cash Money for non payment of royalties. Cash Money Records has agreed to pay up, with the two sides saying they look forward to working together on other projects. Meanwhile, producer Bangladesh has settled his suit with Lil Wayne for non payment of royalties. In other Cash Money Records news, the production duo responsible for quite a few Lil Wayne hits has inked a new deal with the rapper. Lauryn Hill fans will be happy to know that after fifteen years of waiting, the rapper/singer is finally working on the follow up to her debut "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" to hit stores later this year. The legal troubles of Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash continue. Former artist Curren$y has filed a lawsuit against the mogul claiming he continues to profit off his music. He's seeking $1.5 million in damages. It appeared that the two were hammering out the details of a musical partnership, until news of the lawsuit. Curren$y claims his debut album "Muscle Car Chronicles" was released by Dash without a deal being worked out. Dash released a statement through his attorney saying that Dash's initial reaction to the lawsuit was surprise and that he hopes Curren$y isn't being led or pressured to make unwise decisions. No word on a court date yet. In light of the Travon Martin case, singer Chaka Khan has gathered together several singers and celebrities to record the tribute single "Super Life". It will be a remake of her 2007 hit. Appearing along with Khan on the record will be Eric Benet, "X Factor" contestant Stacy Francis, Kelly Price and Kenny Lattimore. A PSA will also be taped that will include Angela Bassett, Boris Kojoe and Terry Crews, in which they will wear white t-shirts that will read:"Fear Kills, Love Heals". The phrase was also posted online. Tennis champ Martina Navratilova was booted off ABC's "Dancing With The Stars". Be sure to tune in next week as the competition continues. Singer Bobby Brown has been arrested again. The singer was pulled over in Los Angeles for talking on a cell phone while driving, where he failed a sobriety test. He was taken into custody and released after posting $5,000 bail. Investigators are looking into the case. The 43-year-old singer was convicted of driving under the influence in Georgia in 1996. He spent eight days in jail after he plead guilty of the crime. Some fans will recall that Madonna kissed Nicki Minaj on the set of the "Give Me All Your Love" video. Minaj even tweeted about the incident. Now, pictures of the incident have gone viral with Madonna saying the kiss was no big deal. She says it was the end of the shoot, and Minaj's birthday. After posing nude for animal rights organization PETA, Khole Kardashian is lashing out at the group and coming to the defense of big sister Kim. Fans will recall Kim was flower bombed at a red carpet event recently. PETA has come out in support of the culprit, leaving Khole fuming. She says PETA's support of the behavior is wrong. As mentioned previously, iconic singer Bobby Womack was admitted to a hospital and diagnosed with pneumonia. Now, fellow music legend Bootsy Collins has taken to his Facebook page to let fans know that the singer has been diagnosed with stage one colon cancer. Collins, who also broke the news about Womacks hospitalization, says he's spoken to the singer, and that he's upbeat about the future. He also added that Womack thanks fans for their well wishes. Womack has received interest from a new generation of fans thanks to his collaboration with UK group Gorillaz. He's been recording an album with the bands frontman Damon Albarn. The album, "The Bravest Man In The Universe" will hit stores in June. Singer Aretha Franklin is heading back to the studio as well. She will be recording with another music icon. The singer announced at her 70th birthday bash that she has re-signed with music mogul Clive Davis. Davis is now chief creative officer at Sony Music Entertainment. Franklin recorded several for Davis' Arista Records during the eighties, including "Freeway Of Love", Who's Zoomin Who" and "I Knew You Were Waiting". The three-year-old domestic violence incident involving Chris Brown and Rihanna won't go away. A restaurant in Georgia has landed in hot water after naming a new speciality sandwich the "Black and Bleu". The organization took to its Twitter account to tweet about the sandwich, after which it received several negative Twitter responses. The organization went into damage control by stating that it is not a supporter of domestic violence. The ingredients were to include Caribbean spiced marinated sliced rib-eye blackened, bleu cheese, sliced tomato, silver Lamborhini onions and shredded Romaine. Last night's "Dancing With The Stars" competition went through a change of pace as the contestants did an extra dance, with an opportunity to obtain an even higher score. The film "The Hunger Games" topped the weekend box office, earning over $155 million dollars. "21 Jump Street", "Dr Seuss' The Lorex", "John Carter" and "Act Of Valor" round out the top five films of the week. The financial troubles of rapper Nas continue. The IRS has filed papers in the state of Georgia to garnish the rapper wages. The Queensbridge MC's tax lien ballooned up to 2.5 million in 2006, and has now increased to a whopping $6 million. Any material the rapper produces under BMI and ASCAP will see a portion of the cash go to the government agency until the tax bill is settled. The collecting will likely begin when the the MC releases his tenth studio album "Life Is Good" later this year. The recent musical comeback of R&B legend Bobby Womack has recently hit a bump in the road. The 68-year-old singer has been hospitalized with pneumonia. Fellow R&B icon Boosty Collins took to Twitter asking fans to send their prayers and well wishes to the singer. Suffering from shortness of breath, the singer was forced to cancel a show in Houston earlier this month. He is known for such hits as "A Woman's Got To Have It", "I Can Understand It" and "If You Think You're Lonely Now". He recently released his first album in over a decade "The Bravest Man In The Universe". It includes the single "Please Forgive My Heart" where his voice still sounds as earnest as ever. A nightclub owner is suing rapper Drake. The club owner claims he landed in hot water after a half smoked marijuana cigarette was found in the area of club where the Young Money MC and his entourage partied. So far, no word from the rapper or his representatives. If you think Waka Floka Flame is the kind to run from trouble, you'd be wrong. During a recent interview on Power 105 FM, the Atlanta rapper discussed his current beef with Young Jeezy associate Slick Pulla. He stated he doesn't like the fellow rapper, and even went as far as to diss him on stage during a recent concert. Although it's unclear whether the two have had a confrontation, Waka did clarify that while he doesn't go looking for trouble, he doesnt' run from it either. He also discussed the death of protege Slim Dunkin last December in an Atlanta recording studio. He says he doesn't accept what happened as yet. Switching to a more positive subject, his music, he says he's done with his next album and it's good to go. There's no word on when "The Triple F Life: Friends, Fans And Family" will hit store shelves. Lets hope he continues to go hard in the studio and keeps a cool head otherwise. Fans of rapper Big K.I.R.T. be happy to know that the rapper has finished his highly anticipated debut album, and it is slated to hit stores on June 5. The album includes a collaboration with blues legend B.B. King. The Mississippi rapper indicated that the two relaxed in the studio as King related his tour experiences. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's report, the death of singer Whitney Houston has been ruled accidental. It's been ruled that heart decease and cocaine were factors in the singers death. A toxicology test also found marijuana, an anti-anxiety medication, a muscle relaxant and an anti-histamine in the singers system. She was found submerged in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room on February 12, the eve of the Grammy Awards. She was 48. A statement released said that while the family is sad to here the report, they now have some closure. Singer El DeBarge is off the hook. As mentioned previously, the singer was arrested just outside Los Angeles for possession with intent to sell. Now, it appears the officer who searched DeBarge and a gentlemen he was conversing with on the 101 Freeway found no drugs on either suspect. As a result, the LA County DA's office as thrown the case out due to lack of sufficient evidence. DeBarge, however, has had struggles with drug abuse, entering rehab as early as February 2011. He was interviewed for cable network BET's "30 Special", where he spoke about his struggle with heroin and crack. He performed at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards with Wale and Rick Ross, filling in for Jeremih on the Maybach Music hit "That Way". Rapper Drake is ready to take his "Club Paradise" tour back out on the road. Several more dates have been added to the tour, and it's sure to be a hit with fans. Rapper DMX's legal problems continue. The Ruff Ryders rapper is being sued by concert promoter Heavy Rotation for failing to make good on contractual obligations, according to TMZ. According to the suit filed by Heavy Rotation booking, X's mounting legal problems in 2011 killed a massive comeback tour the two parties had planned, costing the agency $749,285. Heavy Rotation says it had an exclusive contract with the rapper to book shows all over the world, but when he was sited for a traffic violation last year and sued twice for child support disputes, the rapper was saddled with a passport lien that prevented him from traveling. Compounding the legal problems is X's efforts to hire separate management to book shows in the U.S., even though those rights belonged to Heavy Rotation under their contract. In response to the lawsuit, X' manager says Heavy Rotation has it all wrong, the rapper did reach out to other companies, but only after severing ties with Heavy Rotation over poor business practices. The company is asking for $630,000 in lost revenue. Singer R Kelly has inked a deal to air his "Trapped In The Closet" series on television. Net IFS will air the episodes beginning later this year. Part musical drama, part video, the series follows Kelly's character Sylvester as he wakes from a night of careless infidelity only to find himself thrust into a never-ending spiral of dramatic confessions and intrigue. The series is sure to enthrall fans.Rumors are now spreading about singer Rihanna possibly getting acquainted with actor Ashton Kutcher. The singer was reportedly spotted leaving Kutchers home, although there's been no confirmation of any romance between the two. Stay tuned. In theaters this weekend: "The Hunger Games". Singer Ray J. has denied rumors that he has a sex tape of he and the late Whitney Houston stashed away. The two singers have been linked romantically in the pass, with Ray J only saying the two were good friends. He attended the singer's funeral weeks ago, but hasn't spoken publicly about her death as yet. Mediatakeout.com is reporting on its web site that 17-year-old Diggy Simmons has gotten engaged to his girlfriend, and that the two plan to marry on Diggy's 18th birthday. So far, no comment from the rapper on the matter. Kiss member Gene Simmons, who is slated to tour with the rest of the band and Motley Crue, has gone in on singer Rihanna calling her a karaoke singer. So far, no comment from the singer. Rapper DMX and his estranged wife are slated to participate in a new VH1 reality series titled "Couples Therapy". The show follows the two as they attempt to salvage their marriage. The ex-wives of Prince, Eddie Murphy, R Kelly and Will Smith are slated to participate in another VH1 reality series called "Hollywood Exs". The show follows the ladies during life after their marriages. In a recent interview, Roots member Questlove discussed talking with the late Amy Winehouse about music, and jazz in particular. The two also discussed a collaboration with The Roots, Winehouse, Mos Def, and Raphael Saadiq. Although nothing ever came to futation, Questlove went on to say how Winehouse taught him about jazz. Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning last July. A posthumous collection of unreleased material, "Lioness: Hidden Treasures" was released in December. R&B singer Melanie Fiona graces the cover of Vibe Vixen. The 28-year-old singer discusses the highs and lows of her career, including a bout with depression after a tour opening for Alicia Keys. She says after the tour things got low for her. She's just released her second album "The MF Life". Fans can read the article in Vibe Vixen. Music moguls Jimmy Ivonne and Sean "Diddy" Combs mentored the contestants on last night's "American Idol". Authorities want to know who shot at rapper Tyga's tour bus. The Young Money artist was performing at a club when fans began throwing things on stage. The rapper asked the guilty party to meet him outside after the show. Upon leaving, the rapper's vehicle was hit by gun fire. He was not harmed. A female passenger was hit in the arm and taken to the hospital, treated and released. She even took to Twitter to tweet about the incident. There are no suspects at this time. Congratulations to "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" star Kim Zolack are in order. She and her husband are expecting their second child. They already have one son. No word on when the new addition to the family will arrive. Actor Robert DeNiro is defending a joke made a recently fundraiser for President Barack Obama. He asked if the country was ready for a white first lady. Republican contender Newt Gingride has demanded an apology, but so far, has not received it. 50 Cent fans will be happy to know that the rapper's often delayed next album will be released in July. It should be a treat for fans who've waited patiently for the new CD. No word on if or when the G-Unit general will tour to promote the project. During an interview on the "Russ Parr Morning Show" "Basketball Wives" star Tammi Roman made it clear that she's not happy with the editing job the network does on the show. She stated that the way the editing is done, some things are left out, and she's been made to appear to be a bully. She also discussed her two daughters and their aspirations. He was booked and released on $30,000 bail. He's due back in court next month. It looks like model Tyanna Taylor may need to attend an anger management class. She recently got into a brawl with stripper Scrawberry in a Miami club. It started when Scrawberry walked over to Taylor's table. Words were exhchanged, and the brawl ensued. After Scrawberry was removed from the club, the brawl continued when Tyanna Taylor left with Scrawberry's sister pulling Taylor's hair. So far, no comment from either lady on the matter. Beyonce is apparently ready to go back to work five months after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy. She'll perform threee Memorial Day concerts in Atlantic City. Tickets go on sale April 6. Miami rapper Pit Bull now claims First Amendment Rights to free speech in the suit filed against him by actress Lindsey Lohan. Fans will recall the rapper recorded a track in which the actress's name was mentioned. She later filed a defamation of character suit against the star, although there's no word on a court date. Now, Pitbull's lawyers say the sustaining her allegations would lead to absurd results. Artists would no longer be able to freely express their thoughts in song. They also mentioned an Eminem track in which the actress was mentioned as well. Lohan's lawsuit claims the song infringes upon her publicity rights and was damaging to her standing as an actress of good repute. There's no word on a court date. Rapper Nicki Minaj has inked an endorsement Deal with softdrink giant Pepsi for a new line of soda. The ads will appear this summer. Meanwhile, mentor Lil Wayne has a deal of his own with Mountain Dew. The ad will be called Dew Weezy. Minaj, in the meantime, will hit the road for the European leg of her "Pink Friday" tour this spring. Diggy Simmons fans will be happy to know that the rapper's debut album hits stores today. No word on when or if a tour to promote the disk will happen anytime soon. Rap crew Odd Future has new music in stores this week as well. The new season of "Dancing With The Stars" got off to a great start with what the judges are calling the best premiere night in the show's history. Things can only get better as the season goes on. The rumored diamond ring the teenager has been seen wearing is a ring that once belonged to her mother Whitney Houston. Stepbrother Nick has denied reports that the two are in a relationship, but only time will tell where things will go from here. Hip hop label Cash Money Records is in trouble again, but not for non payment of royalties. Music giant EMI is suing the label for non payment. There's no word on a court date as yet. Former Murder Inc. artist Ashanti is back in the limelight after a four year absence. The singer was recently interviewed at Philadelphia radio station Power 99 where she discussed making amends with former lablemate Ja Rule before his recent prison stint and former label boss Irv Gotti as well. The Grammy winner stated that there's no animosity between she and her former cohorts, and time has healed the wounds. She's set to release her first album since 2008's "The Declaration" titled "Braveheart". The album features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly, Rico Love and Keyshia Cole. She performs a duet with Cole, but there's no word on whether it will be released as a single. She also has several film projects in the works as well, starting with a role in the sequel to the film "Coach Carter". She also has a role in the film "I Love Cinema". It's great to see the former First Lady of Murder Inc. back on the scene. The Oprah Winfrey owned OWN Network has dropped actress/comedian Rosie O'Donnell from it's network. The comedian's talk show didn't do as well as expected in the ratings. No word on a replacement series as yet. The network has been struggling for some time now, and it remains to be seen what will be done to turn things around. ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" premiers tonight and it's sure to an exciting season. Sherri Shepard, Gladys Knight and Jaleel White are among the contestants who will be competing this season. The Bobbi Kristina Brown rumors just won't go away. Reportedly, the teenager doesn't care what grandmother Cissy Houston thinks of her relationship with adopted brother Nick Gordon. Gordon told ABC News that the two have no relationship, although Brown has been seen sporting a diamond ring and the two have plans to take a trip to Las Vegas soon. Nick Gordon was adopted by Whitney Houston some time ago, and only time will tell if rumors are true and where things will go from here. Stay tuned. Singer Rihanna has responded to the recent criticism regarding working with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. She told radio show and "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest that she reached out to Brown regarding her single "Birthday Cake" because he's the hottest R&B artist out at the moment. She returned the favor by appearing on Brown's single "Turn Up The Music". She went on to add that it's strictly about the music and fans shouldn't get too worked up over the collaboration. A former business partner of rapper Jay Z's will have to serve some prison time. Kareem "Biggs" Burke, who was part owner of Rock-A-Fella Records with Jay Z and Dame Dash, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Authorities say marijuana was shipped from California and Florida and sold in New York City. Burke was arrested after being heard discussing a shipment with a partner. He faces six years in prison. Rapper Wiz Khalifa recently uploaded a link to his new mixtape, and the response was so huge, it crashed the site. The tape, which is named after his old high school, includes guest appearances from Rick Ross and, of course, girlfriend Amber Rose. During an interview with BET.com, rapper/producer Warren G. confided that it's been hard to hit the recording studio since the passing of friend Nate Dogg. He revealed that he was on tour in Corpus Christi TX with Snoop Dogg when her learned of the singer's passing. The three childhood friends all dreamed of stardom and formed the group 213, after their shared area code. They later went on to link up with rapper/producer Dr Dre and play a part in shaping the G-Funk area of the 1990's. G has released a single with Young Jeezy and Ne-Yo titled "Leave You Alone" and plans to release the follow up to his classic debut Regulate: G Funk Area Pt 2" later this year. Last night's "American Idol" results show included performances by Demi and Daughtry. Contestant Shannon Magrane was sent home. The competition continues next week tune in. Actor/comedian Chris Rock appears to be the latest celebrity to have a run in with photographers. Video of the star apparently atttacking a camera at the Sundance Film Festival in January has surfaced. The video shows the photographer asking Rock about his views on the Tea Party before Rock reaches for the camera. The clip was posted with a caption that read, "Ask Chris Rock about the Tea Party, get attacked". So far, there's been no response from Rock or his representatives. Whitney Houston's adopted son is denying rumors that he and the singer's daughter are romanticlly incvolved. He says the two are friends who are grieving the lost of her mother together. Rapper Rick Ross is the latest hip hop star to obtain a shoe deal. He's reportedly signed with tennis shoe company Reebok for an endorsement deal. Rapper Lil Wayne is serious about skateboarding. So serious, in fact, that he says he intends to concentrate his efforts toward being the best ever. Let's hope he doesn't have anymore accidents while he's at it. New York City's Santos Pary came alive with cable network BET bringing it's Music Matters showcase to the venue. The show featured R&B and hip hop artists who engaged the crowd with their latest hits. Headliner and former Bad Boy Records artist Cheri Dennis was a standout performing new material she recorded during her absence from the music scene. The next BET Music Matters showcase will be on April 10 at Santos Party House. Former Bad Boy Records artist Shyne and Sean "Diddy" Combs ended a decade of animosity by reconciling during fashion week in Paris. Fans will recall that the tension between the two stems from the infamous 1999 Club New York shooting where three people were injured and Shyne was arrested for attemped murder, assault and reckless endangerment. Shyne went on to say what the move says for hip hop culture, while his former mentor tweeted about the move, even posting a picture of the two sitting together. It's great to see that the two have put their differences aside. "American Idol' contestant Jermaine Jones has been kicked off the show. Producers have decided to remove him from the Fox television talent show after discovering that he withheld information regarding his criminal background. Jones, who wowed the judges with a rendition of Luther Vandross's "Dance With My Father Again", concealed information regarding two arrests last year, and a current arrest warrant. The arrest reportedly stem from violent altercations. Jones was also exposed for making up a story about being estranged from his father. When Kevin Jones was contacted, he stated that the relationship with his son is fine, and he is not the deadbeat his son made him out to be. Meanwhile, the results show airs tonight, with a live performance from Daughtry. Pit Bull fans will get an opportunity to get a look inside the life and career of the Cuban rapper with cable network VH1's "Behind The Music". Bobbi Kristina Brown and her adopted brother appear to have grown closer. Pictures of the two kissing have surfaced, although the nature of the relationship hasn't been confirmed. The two have also shared tweets online, with the young man sharing some choice words for those who appose the relationship. Singer Whitney Houston reportedly adopted the young man and raised him as her own and was aware of and approved of the relationship between the two. Meanwhile, Dionne Warwick told Entertainment Tonight that she believes Whitney may have died of a heart attack. Toxicology reports won't return for a few weeks, so this hasn't been confirmed as yet. Warwick, in the meantime, is working on a new album to commemorate her 50th anniversary in show business. A Twitter feud of sorts has begun between singer/songwriter/producer The Dream and up and coming R&B artist The Weeknd. It all began when The Dream, during a concert appearance at S.O.B's in New York City told the crowd about several new artists who have arrived on the scene since his absence. The Weeknd apparently took offense to the comments and took to his Twitter account to let his feelings be known. Dream, of course, responded with a series of tweets of his own, and it's anyone's guest where things will go from here. Let's hope the beef doesn't get out of hand. There's enough room in the industry for everyone. Rapper Jay Z rocked the stage during a recent performance at South by Southwest in Austin TX. The concert was simulcast live around the world. Sponsored by American Express, the show marked Jay Z's first appearance at the music, film and interactive festival, which historically caters to younger, emerging acts. Hova performed for 90 minutes, offering a mixture of old and new hits. The last time around, Kanye West brought his G.O.O.D. Music showcase to the event, with Hova being a surprises guest. This time around, Hova had the stage all to himself. auditions for "The X Factor" begin today. The competition continues on Fox/s "American Idol" as the contestants continue to pull out all the stops to win the grand prize. While occasionally brawls and even shootings occur at hip hop shows, you don't typically expect them to occur at an R&B show. A shooting occurred outside a Witcha KS nightclub after a performance by former Pretty Ricky member Pleasure P. Fans spilled outside the club where a gunman opened fired. Several people were injured. There are no other details regarding the matter at this time. Oprah Winfrey's interview with Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina attracted over 3.7 million viewers for the OWN network on Sunday. It also earned a 1.7 rating as well. This, no doubt, gives the struggling network a huge boost. The rumored love triangle between singer Chris Brown, his current girlfriend, and his ex-girlfriend Rihanna has gotten nastier. According to website TMZ, Karrueche Tran refuses to leave her home without Brown's security team with her after Rihanna's fans began posting threatening messages to her. Some time back a feud between the ladies began on Twitter with Rihanna reportedly posting a picture of ricecakes wearing a pair of sunglasses with a caption that seems to diss Tran. Brown has told his current flame not to worry about his renewed friendship with his ex. In other Rihanna news, it seems her pastor may want to have a counseling session with the star. He recently made clear in a statement after seeing photos of the singer scantily clad that he believes she shouldn't dress in such a manner being that she's a role model for young girls. Ironically, the singer stated in a magazine interview that she doesn't want to be a role model. Bad Boy Records CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs has revealed that he intends to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the late Notorious B.I.G.'s "Life After Death" by releasing a digitally remaster version of the CD. The only problem is, the Bad Boy staff claim the CD is not on the release schedule. Hopefully, something will be worked out soon. After having one of the most spirited rap beefs in recent memory, the paths of rap rivals 50 Cent and Rick Ross will cross this summer. The two will grace the stage at the Open Air Frauenfeld festival in Switzerland along with other top hip hop acts including Nas, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Tinie Tempah and A$AP Rocky. The concert will take place July 6-8, 2012. Khole Kardashian confirmed that sister Kim and rapper Kanye West would have become a couple were it not for West's busy schedule. Fans of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" will recall that the Chicago MC made a guest appearance on the show, and Khloe says the two would make a perfect couple. Wonder what happened? In other Kardashian news, Kim is none too pleased with "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm. The actor made a statement regarding Kardashian and other reality television stars and referred to Kardashian as a "f*****g idiot". Kardashian, of course, took to her Twitter page to fire back at Hamm saying she believes calling someone who writes, designs and produces a successful show stupid is careless. So far, no response from Hamm. It looks like the third time may be the charm for actress Halle Berry. She and her current beau have gotten engaged. Congratulations. "Dr Seuss' The Lorex" topped the weekend box office, earning over $70 million. "Project X", "Act Of Valor", "Safe House" and "Tyler Perry's Good Deeds" round out the top five films of the week. The Oprah Winfrey interview the Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina aired last night. The 19-year-old stated that while she is unable to listen to her mother's music, she hears her mother's voice in spirit. There's also a rumor circulating that the teenage has distanced herself from her father, singer Bobby Brown by changing her name to Kristina Houston. This rumor has not been confirmed. The teenager also indicated that she intends to follow in her mother's footsteps by entering the entertainment industry as a singer. The interview also included members of Houston's family, including her mother Cissy. The lawsuit filed against rapper Kanye West for a sample used on his "My Dark, Twisted Fantasy" album has been settled. There's been no word on the settlement amount. Rapper Coolio recently went to a family reunion, though probably not the way he would have preferred. The rapper was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Las Vegas. The arrest took place after police discovered that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken to Clark County Detention Center, where he was placed in a cell with his son, Grtis Ivey, who has been held there the last few months after being arrested for armed robbery. Coolio's bail has been set at $5, 850. Atlanta rapper T.I. recently stepped into the middle of a war of words between upcoming female rap stars Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks. It all began when Tip, during a radio interview with DJ Drama, responded to to comments by Banks, who criticized Iggy Azalea for referring to her as a "runaway slave master" in rhyme. Tip stated if you spend half of your day making money, then spend the rest of the day counting your money, you shouldn't have time to worry about anyone else. Banks took to her Twitter account to fire back. Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea took the high road by saying she doesn't know Banks and doesn't have a problem with her. Only time will tell how this will end. Tyler, The Creator was thrown off stage during a concert in Los Angeles, another artist was performing when he took the stage. Just as he was about to take a dive, he was escorted off by security. Luckily, no one was hurt. Game has now decided to speak out about a recent incident where he allegedly spit on fans at a club in Australia. He says he appeared at a meet and greet when a couple became rowdy. He was then followed by the couple to a club where the rowdy behavior continued. The gentleman spit on Game, then Game spit back. He says it didn't hit the woman. Hopefully, no other behavior as described above will occur again. In other Game news, after making a splash with his well received album, "The R.E.D. Album", the MC is hard at work on a new mixtape and a new album, to be titled "F.I.V.E. (Fear Is Victory's Evolution)". He stated in an interview with XXL.com that the concept behind the title is we all have to be afraid of something. While, he didn 't give a specific release date, he added that the album could be his last on Interscope Records. Teh album is still in the planning stages. Rapper Young Jeezy, who is in the middle of his "Hustlerz Ambition" tour is recooperating from surgery to help him speak better. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery. It looks like cable network MTV is getting back into the music business. The network is developing a hip hop talk and performance show tentively titled "Hip Hop P.O.V.". The show will premiere in April. Support of Invisible Children's "Stop Kony" campaign against child trafficking has gone viral the last few days, and it's not only Facebook friends who are moved. Singer Rihanna has reached out to the organization to help raise awareness after seeing a 30-minute documentary about Joseph Kony, a Ugandan warlord who recruits children as soliders and postitutes. She even took to her Twitter account to spread the word. There's sure to be more to come on the story. During a recent interview, rapper Lil Kim talked about the desire to take chances when recording. One inspiration was singing the hook on her new single "If You Love Me". She stated it's about doing what you want, no matter what anyone says. She also went on to say she's not surprised by anything Sean "Diddy" Combs does. The two have worked together previously and she says he's taught her a lot about the business side of the music industry. There's still no word on when a new Lil Kim album will hit stores. Singer Mary J. Blige performed on Fox's "American Idol" last night, as the evening saw Jeremy being sent home. Tune in next week as the competition continues. According to Star magazine, Will Smith's friendship with actor Duane Martin is the reason for the trouble in the Smith marriage. Reportedly, Will spends more time with Duane than he does with his wife and kids, and he and Duane have been spotted hanging out together. There's been no comment from Smith or his representatives on the Star magazine story. Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina has inherited her mother's entire $20 million fortune. The money will be put in a trust, with the first payout being distributed when she is 21. An interview with the 19-year-old, to be conducted by Oprah Winfrey, will air on Sunday. In other Whitney Houston news, Essence magazine pays tribute to the late pop icon by making her their cover subject. The magazine is filled with photos, and interview with the singer's cousin, Dionne Warwick and tributes from those who knew Houston best. The April issue of Essence magazine is on newsstands now. It appears that the Royal Family is none to pleased with Kanye West. The Chicago rapper along with Big Sean and Common, visited London recently and booked a hotel near Buckingham Palace. The royals eventually began complaining about loud music coming from the room West and company stayed in. Big Sean addressed the matter in an interview with The Sun saying they were playing music, but didn't indicate anything else went on. Hopefully, things have now quieted down. As fans know, rapper Young Buck's SUV was shot at in Nashville TN, the MC's hometown recently. He was not harmed and his female passenger was treated and released from the hospital for a gun shot wound to the shoulder. Now rumor has it that he and his girlfriend got into a heated argument at a local club some time before the shooting. Authorities have no suspects and no arrests have been made. Reportedly, Antoine Cook, the father of singer Fantasia's son, has been seen with his ex-wife. The two have been seen looking quite cozy and only time will tell where things will go from here. At any rate, best wishes to all. Rapper Ja Rule is in hot water. He reportedly broke a prison rule by using a phone to call a radio station on his birthday. The rapper is currently serving time for a gun possession charge, and by all accounts, has not been in any trouble within the prison until this latest incident. There's been no comment from Ja Rule or his representatives. Bobbi Kristina Brown has released a statement saying she will grant Oprah Winfrey an interview because she is a close family friend who has never been malious to her mother. The interview will air on Sunday. In other Whitney Houston news, singer Brandy has decided to honor the pop icon by titling her highly anticipated new album "Two Eleven". It not only represents her birthday, but the day the gone-too-soon singing sensation died. Brandy has released the video for the single "It All Belongs To Me", her duet with fellow R&B songstress Monica. It's the first time the two have collaborated since 1998's "The Boy Is Mine". West Coast rapper Game is at it again. The rapper reportedly spit on a group of female fans while partying at a club in Australia. The incident has been captured on video, and the video is circulating. So far, no response from the rapper of his representatives on the matter. During an appearance on "The Talk", Latoya Jackson confirmed rumors that her brother Jermaine Jackson did indeed have an affair with the late Whitney Houston at the beginning of Houston's career. She also went on to say that the vocals recorded on brother Michael's recent album are definitely not his. The question now remains, is anyone really interested?. Meanwhile, two hackers have been arrested for breaking into Sony music's computers and stealing Michael Jackson's entire music catalog. It's unclear how much time the men will serve. Whitney Houston appears on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The article discusses Houston's meteoric rise, troubled life and death. The issue is on newsstands now. Eleven years after her tragic death in a plane crash, a new album from Aaliyah will be released soon. The singer burst on the scene in the early 90's and went on to have such hits as "Back And Forth" and "If Your Girl Only Knew". She later went on to star in such films as "Romeo Must Die" and "Queen Of The Damned" before being killed in a plane crash. She will be missed, and fans are sure to enjoy the upcoming project. Rumors began circulating around Valentine's Day that rapper Lil Wayne and his current girlfriend became engaged. Now, she's reportedly been seen sporting a 12 caret diamond which costs over one million dollars. Best wishes to the happy couple. Rapper Nipsy Hustle has made it clear that he does not condone the violence that took place outside a Tempe AZ club where he was reportedly scheduled to perform. A shooting took place outside the club where at least thirteen people were injured. Two were taken to local hospitals and placed in serious condition. The rapper took to his Tumblr account to release a statement regarding the matter saying his prayers go out to the victims and their families, and he does not condone the violence. He went on the add that the alleged shooters were not ticket holders and he was in his hotel room at the time of the incident. The incident is still under investigation. In light of the tragic event that took place, it's unfortunate that the media would chose to blame hip hop and the culture. The incident is a tragic reminder of the circumstances that currently face inner city communities across the country, and it's important to look at what should be done to improve them, for the good of us all. She reportedly did cocaine with the singer, and conducted an interview with the National Enquirer as well. She also took a photo of the singer's bathroom some time back, which reportedly showed drugs in the room. So far, there's been no response from Houston's family regarding the matter. Rapper Tyler, The Creator is paying for a raucous night he had at a Hollywood club back in December. The Odd Future front man lost his cool during a show at The Roxy and damaged the club's pricey sound equipment. The rapper was arrested for vandalism, which caused a near riot outside the club. As part of an apology, the rapper has agreed to cough up $8,000 to cover damages. With that squared away, the rapper is now set to meet with the District Attorney's office, who want the shock MC to pay for investigation costs incurred by West Hollywood Sheriff's Department. Once the payment is made, all charges will be dropped. A musical featuring the music of late rap legend Tupac Shakur will now go on as planned with the stamp of approval of his mother, Afeni Shakur. Producers of the musical "Holler If You Hear Me" presented Ms Shakur with a rough preview of the musical, hoping it would meet her approval. She was "ecstatic" after the screening. The musical, from director Kenny Leon, an African-American veteran who previously helmed "Driving Miss Daisy" and 2004's "A Raisin In The Sun" revival starring Sean Combs, "Holler If You Hear Me" is not based on Tupac's life. Instead, it uses the late rapper's music as the backdrop of the story of two childhood friends growing up in a Midwestern city. Casting for the musical could begin as early as next week. Robin Thicke, Lionel Richie and others are slated to appear on NBC's "The Voice" as mentors. Be sure to tune in. Wiz Khalifa and model Amber Rose are getting married. Wiz proposed, then posted a picture of Amber's hand on Twitter with a caption that read, "she said yes". Amber then tweeted later that Wiz has made her the happiest woman in the world. So far, there's been no wedding date announcement. Actress Keisha Knight Pullium is in trouble. Her agents are suing the star for unpaid commissions from her current role on TBS's "Tyler Perry's House Of Payne". Their asking for 100,000 in damages in addition to 250,000 in unpaid commissions. There's been no comment from the actress. Actor Eddie Murphy as responded to rumors he and singer Toni Braxton are dating by saying that Braxton is a sweet girl, and the two are just good friends. Rumors have spread that the two have been seen together, but for now, it looks like a platonic friendship. Rapper Jim Jones is denying rumors that he ordered his entourage to attack a concert goer after a cup was thrown on stage at a recent show, although video has surfaced showing otherwise. A scuffle did ensue before security broke it up and escorted the man out of the building. Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean may be a rising star, but it appears that not everyone's a fan. The singer is currently being sued by classic rock band The Eagles over his sample of their hit "Hotel California" for his hit "American Wedding". The song was released for free, with Ocean using the original music track and replacing the original lyrics with his own. He has been ordered not to perform "American Wedding" although it's unclear at the moment whether any legal action will be taken. The singer responded with a blog post say he thinks it's awesome that the group wants to sue. We'll have to wait and see what comes of the matter. The Miami police department is no longer interested in speaking with rapper Rick Ross regarding the dead body found in front of his home. Police responded to a call of shots being fired, and upon their arrival, found a dead body in front of Ross's home. It's been reported that although Ross owns the home, he doesn't live there. Meanwhile, former drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross will get another shot at rapper Rick Ross. Fans will recall that Freeway Ricky Ross filed suit against the rapper for illegally using his name. The case was dismissed. Freeway has appealed and the two will square off in court in May. We'll have to wait and see how things play out then. Mediatakeout.com reported that rapper Tyga recently went to dinner with a concert promoter after a show, and when asked who would pay the bill, Tyga pointed to the promoter and said he would. Upon getting up to leave with doggy bag in hand, Tyga was approached by two thugs with guns. He assumed they intended to rob him, but they instead asked him to dance. Tyga, of course took to Twitter to rant about the story asking who runs mediatakeout.com. So far, no response from mediatakeout.com. Music mogul Clive Davis has shot down rumors that he's planning a Whitney Houston biopic by saying he has no plans to do it. Rumor had it that Jennifer Hudson was among those being consider for the role, but fans shouldn't hold their breaths waiting for that to happen. In other Whitney Houston news, she's landed three albums in the Billboard Top Ten, the only artist to accomplish such a feat. According to Us Weekly, actor/comedian Eddie Murphy and singer Toni Braxton are officially a couple. There's been no confirmation or denial from representatives for either. Don't expect the theatrical style of rapper Nicki Minaj to change anytime soon. In a recently interview with MTV News, the rapper stated she studied theater and the skits she' become known for are what she does when she has the forum to do it. Minaj was fresh off her opening performance at the NBA All Star Game last weekend, and no doubt has much more in store for fans. Although her more pop oriented material has rubbed hip hop fans the wrong way, Minaj says when people want to do what you're doing, it's popular.
