Thursday Dish

President Barack Obama is speaking out on rapper Jay Z's recent visit to Cuba. During a recent interview, the President said he and his staff have more pressing matters to deal with and he is not the rapper's travel agent. Singer Rihanna's cancellation of yet another concert date due to illness has rumors swirling that she's expecting. Pictures of the pop star have surfaced celebrating a friends birthday, shopping with boyfriend Chris Brown and leaving a doctor's office in Beverly Hills. The pop star has only commented that she's been sick for some time and doesn't know when to rest. At any rate, get well soon Rih. Rapper Flava Flav will appear in court today to answer to charges of assault and child endangerment in connection with an incident that occurred some time ago. At the same time, his group Public Enemy will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The late disco diva Donna Summer will be inducted as well. No word on whether or not Flava will be able to make the ceremony. In more Jay Z news, sports agents are crying foul over his recent signing of New York Giants wide-receiver Victor Cruz. Some agents are mad because the hip hop mogul is not a certified "Contract Advisor" and third-party recruiting was blocked from the NFLPA in a new rule set in place last year.  Those really angry are mentioning Master P's foray into sports management, siting his contract negotiation for then rookie Ricky Williams as one of the worst deals in the history of the NFL. The NFLPA will not likely view the move as a violation as Jay's long-time friendship with Cruz extends beyond any contract with Rock Nation Sports and its partner CAA Sports, the leading sports management agency in the game with over 800 signees. Jay, who will grace the cover of Time magazine as one of its world's most influential people, is very serious about his business. He's reportedly planning to become a sports agent himself. The next test he's eligible to take is  in January 2014, plenty of time to negotiate waiving another rule that requires those who are certified to have a postgraduate degree. In the meantime, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has expressed interest in purchasing Jay's shares in the Net, which would make it possible for the Brooklyn native to cut deals for baseball players as well. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Wife Swap" on ABC and "Community" on NBC. Happy Thursday!!
