Wednesday Roundup
It looks like the beef between singers Ciara and Rihanna is real. Ciara reportedly tweeted a message aimed at the singer which also referenced Rihanna's hit single with Ciara's boyfriend Future. So far, no response from Rihanna. All this after Ciara stated there really wasn't a problem between the two. Looks like inviting them both to the same party wouldn't be a good idea. Singer Kelly Rowland has been tapped to replace Brittany Spears on the American version of "X Factor". She was originally a judge on the UK version of the show before being replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. No word on when she'll make her first appearance on the show. BET is bringing "Comic View" back on the air. The show will now be hosted by comedian Somore. Rapper Lil Wayne doesn't seem to concerned about the 1.8 million dollar judgement won against him by producer Quincy Jones. Jones counter sued the New Orleans native but took the matter to Miami where Weezy now lives. Weezy says he's worth over more than that so it's a drop in the bucket. Although rapper Rick Ross has apologized for his offensive lyrics on the single "U.O.E.N.O.", he feels that tennis shoe giant Reebok should take him back. He feels he's helped bring the brand back to the hip hop community. He gets paid each time he wears the shoe. Rapper Wiz Khalifa graces the cover of the latest issue of Esquire magazine. In the article, he talks about making white collar money while making blue collar music. He also discusses learning to make certain he gets paid when he should. The Pittsburgh native was named by the magazine among "The New Hip Hop Royalty". His third album is expected to be released sometime this year. If you think rap/rock artist Kid Rock supports the Jay Z/Justin Timberlake tour, you'd be wrong. With the steepest prices running $225, the singer/rapper slammed his music industry peers for asking fans to dig so deep into their pockets. "It's garbage", he said during an interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight". On the show to promote his own tour run, which begins in late June, Rock went on to explain that he charges only $20 per ticket. He added that he's always tried to keep ticket prices where he thinks their fair. He also took a pay cut and worked out deals with sponsors in order to drop the ticket fee. He's even gone the extra mile by offering fans free sandwiches in certain markets. It's always nice to see an artist give back. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "Survivor: Caramoan: Fans Vs Favorites" on CBS, "Modern Family" on ABC and "Dateline NBC" on NBC. Happy hump day!!
