Monday Memo

The film "Ender's Game" topped the weekend box office, earning $28 million. "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa", "Last Vegas", "Free Birds" and "Gravity" round out the top five films of the week. Actor Idris Elba is reportedly doing much better after suffering an asthma attack during the South African premiere of the film "Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom". The actor was taken to a hospital and is recovering well. "Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom" hits theaters on Nov. 29. Actress Kerry Washington host "Saturday Night Live" and to the delight of the viewing audience performed several hilarious skits. Rapper Eminem was the musical guest. Former "Moesha" co-star Markus T. Paulk was arrested and charged with domestic violence after reportedly kicking his girlfriend in the stomach, sending her to the hospital. He could receive four years in prison. Many of music's hottest artist turned out for the You Tube Music Awards. Lady Gaga, among them. Here's hoping next year's event is even better. The home of singer/songwriter/producer Babyface caught fire recently. The fire began on the lower level of the home. No one was hurt and a sprinkler system put the fire out before fire crews arrived.   It looks like there's a riff between Young Money Entertainment artist Drake and Nicki Minaj. During an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Minaj addressed Drake's decision to not include an Young Money artist on his new album by saying she will always want the label's other artist to be a part of her project no matter what. While Minaj's comments aren't a direct diss to Drake, they could understandably be seen as a side-eye to her one-time friend. Seventeen years after rapper/actor Tupac Shakur's death, former Death Row Records head Suge Knight is still loyal to his former comrade. Knight told celebrity web site TMZ that he thinks Shakur should receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Knight will get his wish. The Walk of Fame Committee announced in June that Shakur will receive a star alongside Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Rick Springfield, Orlando Bloom and comedian Phil Hartman who died in 1998. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars Live" on ABC and "The Voice Live" on NBC. Happy Monday!
