Wednesday Roundup
Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons will star in his own reality show for the Oxogen channel. The show will follow him as he conducts business throughout the day. The show's first episode will air on November 2. Although the show has not aired yet, the BET Hip Hop Awards were held recently and hip hop's brightest stars all attended the event. Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, Cali Swag District and others performed. No word on when the show will air on BET. Rapper 50 Cent has inked a $10 million dollar deal for his movie production company to produce upcoming films. No word on when a project will be released. It looks like rapper Peety Pablo will be serving prison time. The Atlanta rapper was detained while in route to a concert when officals found a weapon in his carry on bag. The rapper then claimed he had taken the weapon from a friend to help the friend avoid doing anything foolish. A judge didn't by the argument. No word on how stiff a sentence the MC could get. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was given the boot on last night's "Dancing With The Stars". He is the latest star to be voted off the show after David Hasseloff, Margaret Cho and Michael Bolton. Be sure to see the upcoming Tyler Perry film "For Colored Girls". The film, based on a Broadway play, is sure to delight fans as Mr Perry's other films have. In couples news, actor David Arquette and his wife actress Courtney Cox have announced they are ending their marriage. Singer Christina Aguilera and her husband have announced their split as well. Best wishes to all. On the tube: "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox, "Survivor: Nicaragua" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Undercovers" on NBC. Happy hump day!
