Thursday Dish
The second day of testimony in the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, took place today. By all accounts, it appears that the defense is doing what it can to show that the singer was addicted to drugs and paid anyone willing to give him drugs handsomely. Meanwhile, the defense tried it's best to show that Dr. Murray was negligent and that negligence caused the singer's death. Testimony included recalling the reaction of the singer's children when they saw their father laying unresponsive in his bedroom. It remains to be seen whom else will be called to testify. Rapper T. I. is now a free man. The Atlanta MC was released from an Atlanta halfway house today after serving an eleven month sentence for probation violation. He has several projects in the works, including a reality series, a book and new music as well. Here's hoping that he'll get and keep his life and career on track from this point on. The reason for NBA star Ron Artest's wife's sudden disappearance from the VH1 reality series "Basketball Wives" depends on who or what you believe. The social networking web site Facebook claims she's no longer on the show because she's not into drama. Another story has Artest claiming that his wife has no Facebook page. Yet another story being told is that Mrs Artest was blackballed from the show by creator and producer Shaunie ONeal due to a physical confrontation between the two. Only time will tell what's true and what's false. While seeming to enjoy pregnancy, singer Beyonce stated in an interview that there's one thing she can't stand about husband Jay Z. His calogne. She says since she's been pregnant, she doesn't like it's smell. Rapper Lil Wayne isn't resting on his laurels since topping the charts with "Tha Carter 4". He has two new albums collaborative albums in the works. The first is with good friend Juelz Santana called "I Can't Feel My Face". The two actually began recording the album a few years ago, but most of the songs were leaked online, and the project never hit stores. The two have decided to start from scratch and record new material. No release date has been set for the upcoming album, so stay tuned. In the meantime, Weezy and his proteges are planning a sequel to their hit album "We Are Young Money". According to Young Money executive Mack Maine, the Young Money crew is hard at work and sees Weezy's success as an inspiration. Be sure to tune as the competition continues on "Dancing With The Stars" and "The X Factor" as well. Both shows have gotten off to an exciting start with more to come. On the tube: "The X Factor" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Charlie's Angels" on ABC and "Community" on NBC. Happy Thursday!
