Wednesday Roundup

Up and coming rapper Azealia Banks has gone on yet another Twitter rant. This time, the targets were not only producers Diplo and Baauer and an unnamed female rapper. Banks wrote how female rappers want to start drama with her. She even went on to coin a new name for herself. Complex magazine is speculating that the anonymous rapper in question could be UK rapper Shystie, whose video for "Control It", featuring Banks, was released on Sunday, but quickly taken down the following day. Banks later tweeted that she didn't like the video. Then there are Banks other favorite punching bags, Angel Haze and Iggy Azalea. At any rate, she's got the media writing and talking about her again, this is despite the fact that her debut album still doesn't have a release date. Rapper Kanye West let his feelings regarding being ranked #7 on MTV's "Hottest MC's In The Game" be known during a recent interview with DJ Enuff. Ye went on to say that he believed that his ranking had something to do with the network not liking the "Cruel Summer" project. West was ranked below protege Big Sean. While he's happy for Sean, he still believes that Sean should be in the top five. He went on to make his case further by mentioning music he's recorded. He added that he thinks rapper Lil Wayne is the number one rapper in the world. Weezy sent out a tweet showing his appreciation for being thought of in such high regard. The MTV Hottest MC's debate continues with four spots remaining. Meek Mill (#10), Future (#9), A$AP Rocky (#8), Ye, Sean, and Drake (#5) will know soon enough who will join them on the list. Music mogul Clive Davis is one person who believes singer Frank Ocean coming out was a good thing. He added that the response from the hip hop community was even better. Ocean is part of the Odd Future crew. Davis added that although some have become more tolerant of bisexuality and homosexuality, entertainers still take a huge risk coming out.  Let's hope the tolerance level is raised.
