Monday Memo

The biopic of MLB star Jackie Robinson, who broke the color barrier in baseball, topped the weekend box office, earning over $27 million. "Scary Movie 5", "The Croods" , "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "Evil Dead" round out the top five films of the week. After airing it's annual movie awards, cable network MTV is dispelling rumors that Snoop Dogg and another presenter were arrested. The pair were allegedly arrested for smoking marijuana, but MTV says it's not true. Rapper Too Short is scheduled to appear in court soon in connection with his arrest in Los Angeles a few months ago. He was charged 4 misdemeanors, including 2 for DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. No comment from Short on the matter. Rapper Gucci Mane is headed back to jail after posting bond. A judge says the Atlanta rapper violated his probation and he'll be sentenced to more jail time. Just when it looked like the Chris Brown/Drake feud was over, it seems it isn't. During an interview with radio show "Keep It Thoro", Drake said that Brown's insecurities are the fact that he makes better music, he's more popular and at one time, the woman Brown loves fell into his lap. He added of Brown's on-again-off-again girlfriend Rihanna, that he did what a real n**** would do. He treated he with respect. Although he's left the door open for the two to bury the hatchet, he did say that the two have an issue and it's either going to drag out or in a few years they'll laugh about over drinks. Here's hoping the matter is settled soon. Fatherhood has motivated rapper Wiz Khalifa to get back into the studio. During an interview on Power 106's "Big Boys Neighborhood", the rapper stated that the work on his new album was inspired by the birth of his son Sebastian "The Bash" Taylor Thomaz. The untitled project will be released some time this year and will detail everything Wiz has been going through since his sophomore release. He said he's been having so much fun, having his son, he thought it would be great to put out a relevant project. The album is sure to be a treat. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars Live" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Monday!
