Tuesday Tales

The official cause of rapper Chris "Mack Daddy" Kelly's death has been ruled a drug overdose. Kelly reportedly had several drugs in his system when he died. Kelly died suddenly in May the age of 34 in his Atlanta Georgia home. The Will.i.am/Pharrell Williams suit has taken a new turn. The two stars have been in a dispute over the trademark IAM for several months, with Will.i.am filing court documents back in March and again in May. Now, Williams has filed court documents of his own claiming that his IAM in no way infringes upon Will.i.ams. Only time will tell how all this will pan out. Stay tuned. Rapper Jay Z's recent deal with mobile phone giant Samsung has changed the way the Recording Industry Association of America determines which albums qualify to be certified gold or platinum. The organization announced that it will now include digital sales in addition to physical sales of all albums when issuing gold or platinum awards. After many rumors and much speculation, it's been confirmed that Bruce and Kris Jenner are indeed divorcing. No word on a settlement as yet. Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight is in legal trouble yet again. This time two bench warrants have been issued for Knight's arrest over two driving mishaps. Authorities in California issued both bench warrants after Knight skipped out on traffic tickets he was issued for driving with a suspended license in 2011 and again in 2012. Hearings on both cases were held in this month. Knight has had a series of mishaps in recent years. He was shot in the leg and was knocked out while leaving a Los Angeles nightclub. Knight has filed for bankruptcy, collecting a debt with the IRS of $6 million and also added to a criminal record which now includes domestic abuse. In 1997, he was sentenced to nine years over probation violation. He was released in 2001, only to return for violating parole. In February of this year warrants were issued under his name over failure to appear in court. Knight has since settled those discrepancies. He hasn't commented on his recent troubles. On DVD: "Burt Wonderstone" and "The Call". On the tube: "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Extreme Weight Loss" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!
