Wednesday Roundup

Rapper Gucci Mane is in more legal trouble. The Atlanta native has been charged with felony gun possession. The rapper appeared in court yesterday for arraignment on two counts of possession by a convicted felon. He was caught on two separate occasions with loaded hand guns in September and was arrested after "cursing and threatening" authorities following a call placed by a friend. A small amount of marijuana and concealed weapons was found on his person. He was taken to a hospital for mental evaluation and later sentenced to six months in prison for probation violation. If convicted on each count, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. The rapper is being detained until his trial, but it's unclear whether Atlanta officials will relinquish custody to federal officials. The cousin of singer Frank Ocean is now seeking $3 million in damages stemming from a brawl between the entourages of he and singer Chris Brown. Brown hasn't responded to the suit. Rapper Kanye West went on yet another tirade during a radio interview with Power 105. This follows shouting match that occurred between and radio host Sway Calloway. Meanwhile, West has asked that a portrait of girlfriend Kim Kardashian be done for keep sake. Preparation for round two is underway. Katherine Jackson has filed a "notice of intent" for a retrial in the wrongful death lawsuit against concert promotor AEG Live! for the death of her son, Michael Jackson. Lawyers for AEG filed documents of their own, seeking $1.2 million from the Jackson family for matriarch for the cost of the first trial. Previously, Mrs. Jackson had filed to overturn the judge's decision to dismiss AEG CEOs Paul Gongaware and Randy Phillips as part of the "defendant's" package. Mrs. Jackson filed a billion dollar lawsuit against AEG Live! claiming they were responsible for hiring and supervising Dr. Conrad Murray and she filed an appeal to overturn one of the judges's decisions in that trial, which she says sealed her fate with the jury. On the tube: "The Factor" on Fox, "Survivor" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" on NBC. Happy hump day!
