Monday Memo

The animated film "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" topped the weekend box office, earning over $60 million dollars. "Prommetheus", "Snow White And The Huntsman", "Men In Black 3" and "Marvel's The Avengers" round out the top five films of the week. A Manhattan attorney is suing a New York jeweler. Reportedly, the man took his Rolex to the jeweler to be cleaned, only to find it missing when he returned to pick it up. It somehow wound up on the wrist of rapper Drake. He can be seen wearing the expensive piece on the cover of his album "Take Care". No word on a court date as yet. Singer/rapper Lauryn Hill says there's a very good reason for her trouble with the IRS. She says the neglected to pay the taxes she owes because she went underground to protect her family. Hill posted a statement regarding the matter on her blog, which seems a bit outrageous, considering the circumstances. The  man convicted on killing three of singer Jennifer Hudson's family  has requested a new trial and may get one. He's asked for the new trial indicating that Hudson's testimony in the case was irrelevant. No word on a new trial date. Not only are Kanye West's new line of sneakers flying off store shelves, the rapper was reportedly given a $750,000 Lamborginhn by girlfriend Kim Kardashian for his 35th birthday. This, of course, has ex Kris Humphries crying foul, as he's stated that Kim defrauded him. In other Kardashian/Humphries news, Humphries attorney has asked his new lady love to keep quite about their relationship, since the legal battle with Kim is still going on. Singer DeAngleo returned to the stage for the first time in twelve years over the weekend and reportedly wowed the crowd. As most know now, the singer has dealt with his share of personal drama over the years, and appears to be getting his life back on track. He's due to release a new album soon. Fans who've been wondering where Houston rapper Mike Jones is may not get an answer anytime soon. During an interview with bet.com, fellow Houston rapper Slim Thug stated he didn't know where Jones was and that he couldn't remember the last time the two spoke. He did indicate that he'd like to hang out with his friend. Jones was part of the early 2000's wave of Houston rap talent that included Paul Wall and Chamillionaire. He released his debut album "Who's Mike Jones?" in 2005, and even gave fans easy access by giving them his phone number. The album included the hit single "Still Tippin". Slim went on to say that whatever Jones is going through, he should shake it off and return to the industry. Jones's website indicated that he's working on new music, although no other information is available. Let's hope he gets back to doing what he does best soon. Fans of 90's R&B group 112 will be happy to know that it's been announced via Twitter that the group has reunited and is preparing to tour soon. The tour will begin later this month in Atlantic City. The members of the group have all been working on solo projects, and will continue to do so, followed by new music from the group. Welcome back fellas! On the tube: "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Bachelorette" on ABC and 2012 Stanley Cup Final" on NBC. Happy Monday!
