Monday Memo

The film "Hop" topped the weekend box office for the second week in  a row, earning over $21 million dollars. "Arthur", "Hanna", "Soul Surfer" and "Insidious" round out the top five films of the week. Rapper Gucci Mane was arrested over the weekend. The rapper picked up a young woman, had dinner, and when he invited the young woman to accompany him to a hotel she refused, and he threw her out. This incident is a violation of his probation. He has been charged with battery, among other charges. No word on a court date. Former drug king pin Freeway Rick Ross is suing rapper Rick Ross once again. Fans will recall that the former Los Angeles drug king pin sued the rapper in federal court, claiming he used his name to get a record deal. The new case will head to civil court in May. After backing out of a tour with Rihanna reportedly to work on new material, Nicki Minaj is set to tour with pop star Brittany Spears. Tour dates and locations have not been announced. It appears that Pia Toscano hasn't missed a beat since being voted off "American Idol". She's signed a deal with Interscope Records. No album title or release date has been announced, however. She seems to be following in the footsteps of former "Idol" contestants who were voted off too soon, but still managed to find success. The sky's the limit for the singer.   Singer Kelly Rowland debuted the video for her new single "Motivation" on "106 & Park" and stated it's the year of the woman and that's what she focused on when recording. She collaborated with Lil Wayne on her new single, and worked with several producers on her upcoming album. She expects it to be released sometime this summer. Another round of competition will take place on "Dancing With The Stars" tonight on ABC. It remains to be seen who will walk away with the mirror ball trophy. Another hilarious episode of "How I Met Your Mother" airs also. On the tube: "House" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC and "Chuck" on NBC. Happy Monday!
