Monday Memo
The film "X Men: First Class" topped the weekend box office, earning over $56 million dollars. "The Hangover Part 2", "Kung Fu Panda 2", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Bridesmaids" round out the top five films of the week. Fans eagerly awaiting the release of Lil Wayne's next album "Tha Carter 4" shouldn't hold their breaths. Although it was initially reported that the album would be released this month, it's been pushed back. Latest reports now say it will be released on August 29, according to Youheardthatnew.com. According to Mack Maine, the Young Money camp wanted to release the album the day Wayne was released from jail back in November. Although Wayne started recording back in 2008, his manager Cortez Bryant said he would be starting from scratch. He's already released several singles said to be slated for the album, including '6 Foot 7 Foot" and "How To Love". Singer/songwriter/producer T Pain stated in an interview that he will no longer use Audio-Tune. He will introduce his own vocal processor called the T-Pain Effect. The newer technology is the result of a partnership between the artist and Izotope, a tech company who will be the exclusive provider of the T-Pain Effect, which will be unveiled at the E3 conference on June 7. Izotope will use its own vocal technology to process T-Pains new sound. Singer Sean Kingston is reportedly conscious and responsive after a horrific accident where he crashed his jet ski into a bridge over the Memorial Day weekend. Although he can't speak due to a breathing tube down his mouth and throat, the singer communicates with head nods and hand gestures. The singer is expected to make a full recovery. Lil Wayne apparently won't be the only Young Money artist featured on former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland's new album. The singer stated in an interview that she's collaborated with Young Money artist Nicki Minaj on a track on the new album. She also stated she's ready to tour in support of the album. Her third studio album, "Here I Am" will be released this fall. The MTV Movie Awards aired last night, and it was filled with a few risque moments, including some groping by Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, stars of "Friends With Benefits". Censors couldn't bleep Robert Pattinson's F bomb while presenting an award to actress Reese Witherspoon. Witherspoon, who was honored for her achievements in comedy and drama, let some profanity slip as well. All in all it was a night of bawdy humor that won't be forgotten. On the tube: "Masterchef" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "The Bachlorette" on ABC and "Minute To Win It" on NBC. Happy Monday!
