Tuesday Tales
Lil Wayne and Brian "Baby" Williams are being sued by George Clinton for allegedly sampling a Clinton hit from the 1970's without permission. There's been no word on a court date. If you've ever wondered what inspired singer Alicia Keys hit "If I Ain't Got You", it was singer Aaliyah. The singer recently posted an essay on her website discussing the behind the scenes crafting of the follow up to her debut album "Songs In A Minor", 2003's "Diary Of Alicia Keys". She says the song was written after Aaliyah's death and it became clear to her what matters and what doesn't. Meanwhile, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Songs In A Minor", Ms Keys will release a 2-CD deluxe re-issue of "Songs In A Minor" on June 28. A collectors edition will feature a DVD with a behind the scenes documentary. Keys' will also perform an anniversary concert on June 30 at New York's Beacon Theater. Death Row Records founder Suge Knight was featured in an ad campaign for PETA against dog chaining. Knight isn't the only hip hop figure who has been courted by PETA. Waka Flaka Flame recently appeared in ads for the organization speaking out against the use of animal fur. Thankfully Suge didn't opt to go with an all-nude promotion as Waka did. After 15 years together, rappers Capone-N-Noreaga have split up. Nore went on his Twitter account on June 9 to break the news to fans. Both rappers say it's time to do other things. Both are open to the possibility of a reunion, however. Drake and Rihanna are apparently getting closer. Drake reportedly made a surprise visit at a concert Rihanna did in his home town Toronto and another show the singer did in Montreal. When they weren't performing, the two were seen dining out and hitting the clubs together. Fans will recall that rumors of a romance between the two surfaced in 2009, but were squashed. Drake commented that he felt hurt and used by their reportedly brief relationship. It looks like things may last longer the second time around. Bachelorette Ashley showed poor romantic judgement on "The Bachelorette", and it remains to be seen what will happen next. Be sure to tune in tonight. "The Voice" has gotten off to a great start. Tune in. "America's Got Talent" is back for another season as well. On DVD: "Red Riding Hood" and "Battle Los Angeles". On the tube: "Masterchef" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Wipeout" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!
