Monday Memo

The comic book film "Marvel's The Avengers" topped the weekend box office once again, earning over $103 million dollars. "Dark Shadows", "Think Like A Man", "The Hunger Games" and "The Lucky One" round out the top five films of the week. Singer Jennifer Hudson broke down in tears as the jury delivered a guilty verdict in the trial of the man who murdered her family. William Balford was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew in 2008. Hudson extended a prayer to Balford during the trial. Meanwhile, rapper Lil Boosie was acquitted for a murder charge in connection with the death of Terry Boyd. He was accused of hiring a hit man to kill Boyd some time back. He will, however, have to answer to the charges regarding attempting to sneak drugs into the prison where he served time. Rapper  Lil Wayne has settled a lawsuit with a producer who claims he worked on his album, but was never compensated. The two songs in question appear on "Tha Carter 3". It looks like Beyonce has found herself in the middle of a lawsuit as well. She's being sued for allegedly backing out of a business deal at the last minute to place a video game on the  market. The company is seeking compensation for profits that may have been made and other damages. The John Travolta saga seems to get stranger. As most fans now know, the actor is being sued by two masseurs who claim Travolta sexually assaulted them during a massage. Now that Travolta has provided an air tight alibi for his whereabouts during the time of the first attack, the first victim has now changed his story. He now says he may have gotten the time wrong, but Travolta definitely assaulted him. Only time will tell where things will go from here, so stay tuned. Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina has reportedly inked a deal for a new reality series. The show will also feature the  late singer's mother Cissy Houston, brother Gary and sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston. Although there's no word on when the show will air, rumor has it that the agreement to do the show may be the family's way of controlling the teen, as she's rumored to be smoking and drinking sense the her mother's untimely death. The competition continues on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" and the remaining couples will pull out all the stops for the grand prize. The new season of NBC's "America's Got Talent" premieres tonight as well. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your  Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC and "America's Got Talent" on NBC. Happy Monday!
